Girona remind me of Newcastle in the Champions League, I think they might try their best to advance to knockout stage but I won't think much about them since some of their players are out already and they might not be able to replicate such form but maybe they might be fortunate to do better than Newcastle
Personally, I feel that Girona can make it out of their group in the UEFA Champions League competition next season but that'll be very likely to happen if they start to sign quality players this summer. Some of their best players of last season that helped them finish in the top four of the Spanish La Liga have left the club but they've not been very active in the transfer window like I expected them to be. The UEFA Champions League is more energy demanding than the Spanish La Liga so if they must succeed, in the competition, they must have quality players to help them achieve such feat.
Just like Newcastle I think it depends on the group they find themselves in, if they're unfortunate to be a group we might call a group of death for them it will be hard expect they'll be able to take every little chances given to them and shocked us especially how the defeat Barcelona last year December which made many of us had no choice than to agree they were serious and not necessarily luck but I wonder of they can actually improve their squad or still have that synergy of last season though some players are out already

If Manchester City, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are the top three clubs in the Champions League, then I think one more club should be added here and that is Arsenal. Maybe we don't see such a good performance from Arsenal in the Champions League, that's why we can't put this team in the list of favorite teams. Injury problems are unwelcome and can happen to every club, but Arsenal's players are known to have the most injuries every season. If you have looked at Arsenal's performance in the last Champions League season, they have not performed where we would consider them the best team for the Champions League.

Arsenal need to plan to do well in the Champions League in the same way that Real Madrid plan to win the Champions League trophy. They should consider the Champions League tournament as mandatory, leaving the Premier League as a secondary option, but they will do well in the Champions League
I am also favouring these three clubs for best in Champions League, but Arsenal is still needed time for having better results and performance because their performance in last season was not as top club I will add Inter Milan as fourth-best club because they are doing good job and having good squad which can give his best in all conditions and also having ability to win this trophy due to their experience and quality performance Arsenal is having troubling time as their players are having pressure as they are heading for big games.

In last two seasons, they were good in Premier League and their performance in Champions League was not satisfied, but we can expect improvement which will help them for keeping things in good touch if they are able to have some strong mentality in this coming season then we can expect they will be going through for the cups.

Girona advancing to the knock out stage is very possible and they can achieve it but they don seem to have the capacity just yet because they have got a lot to fix to be able to match up the top teams in the champions league that will earn them the opportunity to get the chance at signing at the trophy but getting pass knock out will be a good attempt though it will not be a really easy one as the new champions league format from the group stage is such that is going to be a bit more stressful than the former which they are used to.
If Girona has the same good team performance as last season, then of course they have hope of qualifying for the knockout rounds. I wouldn't say it's easy for Girona, but it all still depends on how the group stage draw turns out. Girona has proven that they deserve to be in the Champions League group stages next season, as well as Leverkusen, who successfully won the Bundesliga title last season with a fantastic record.

Of La Liga, I think only Real Madrid is likely to progress to the higher stages. The quality and depth of Real Madrid's squad is really good, but I don't throw much faith in Barcelona's chances of going higher. The teams representing Serie A are also good, as are the representatives of the Premier League, some of which are worthy favorites.

Very important victory for Fener and Mourinho against Lugano in away game. This victory placed them with first odds to qualify further and I'm well surprised to see Fener having a strong attack and score 4 goals but I'm a bit shocked to see a team of Mourinho conceding 3 goals in his first important game and I'm sure he will work a lot more in defense because it's clear that his team needs to learn his tactics of having a great defensive style. Overall , I think Fener did enough to secure the next phase of UCL qualifiers and they do have real chances to catch the groups.  Cool
Those are Fenerbahçe firing on all cylinders, folks. Mourinho is seeing that team playing with a whole different vitality. Trust me; you win when Mourinho is in your corner. You bring great wins. But those three goals against is not good. In those are early days. He is the master of defence, Mourinho. He will get that backline taken care of quickly. This was merely a minor glitch, a blip on the radar. You see; they'll be a brick wall shortly enough. Its great to have Mourinho back in the Champions League, really. The guy is a legend. He knows how to prevail. And on this Fenerbahçe squad? They have potential. Actual promise. They will be a force to be reckoned with if they maintain this.

Great hattrick from Edin Dzeko by the way in this match. In the end the match did get very interesting as Lugano was able to score on the 94th minute of the match. In the end it was a win for Fenerbahce. We can say that the defence should have been better from them. but a lot of people will say that a win is a win. obviously a good news for Mourinho. He has not been having a good time as a coach. this win is going to give him a lot of confidence. probably again he will be able to rise up through the rank and establish himself as a great coach again

I honestly think that him not being a professional footballer is actually causing him to be on his downfall at this day and age. I think if he was actually a professional footballer, he would have been able to adapt to the new age of football and the new tactics very quickly.

There are worse options than what happened to Newcastle - for example Union Berlin. They failed in the Champions League and miraculously remained in the Bundesliga, were very close to relegation. But I think that despite the fact that Girona lost several players, such a failure is not threatening them. I think they will be able to qualify for the 1/8 finals of the Champions League (in the new format it is much easier for newcomers) and then everything will depend on the draw.

It's not easy because the champions league itself  isn't all that friendly especially to new teams and I say this cause of the experience I have seen from most teams like Leipzig, Newcastle, and some others and all have failed to make any positive growth and that's why I don't feel any positive achievement will be made to their champions league campaign, but although am not sure for their Laliga journey but the champions league am sure that they will be knocked out.

There will only be 16 clubs that can qualify for the next round, where from the standings there are 8 clubs that have already qualified directly and the other 16 clubs must fight in the play-off round. Here's what's interesting in my opinion, because now there is very tight competition in the productivity of the goals they create. Usually we only see 4 clubs in 1 group, and it's not too difficult because there are superior clubs and there are clubs that are indeed mediocre and in terms of points, there are rarely clubs that have the same points which requires them to see goal productivity to advance to the next round.

Now it's different, because they will be in the same standings and will play 8 matches. My prediction is that there will be many clubs that have the same points and between them they have to see goal productivity. In addition to having to struggle to win, they also have to be able to score as many goals as possible so that when they are in a situation like that, they can be better than other clubs.

Yes, Madrid is one of the teams that always participate in the Champions League, they have quality players from the beginning and the team has made name that make it a favorite for all players. To achieve such greatness is not easy for any team because they need money to do make such moves for players of higher caliber.
Real Madrid's financial stability is with the help of the bonuses they do get whenever they win trophy, and for them to be the best club in the world they are signing players of higher caliber and do get huge profit while selling them; but Barcelona started having issues since the departure of Messi which is not proper and I blame the management for going financially unstable for a big team like Barcelona.

This is the reason why I have the feelings that Real Madrid is going to win this tournament of the Champions league or at least to say that they have high chances of winning. Much more than the Barcelona, Real Madrid have a great set of squad depth right now that they can boast of. Aside from that advantage, they also have a strong and well experienced manager like Ancelotti who understands how to lead the club to achieve their best. Real Madrid also have a good financial capacity to take more places in at any transfer windows available to them. I don't really think that Real Madrid have anything to regret now.
This Real Madrid team is exceptional. It's not only about Mbappe; he's a genuine game-changer. It is about the depth and the skill at every level. You could field two starting elevens and still run for championships. Ancelotti now has a guy who understands leadership. He has the trophies to show it; he has been around, seen it all. He knows how to maximise his players and he understands strategy. And when you mix that with Real Madrid's financial might, well, you have a formula for success.

There are other strong teams out there. This isn't going to be easy. The Champions League, though? Real Madrid's trophy to lose is this one. They are the favoured. And observing their game? It's gonna be a masterclass. You want not to miss it.

There are many new or surprise teams that will play in the Champions League next season, but of these teams, Girona actually tends to be stronger financially than Newcastle before, but even so, we can't expect much from surprise teams who don't have the mentality and experience in the  Champions League, just like you, I also suspect that teams like Girona, Bologna, Atlanta, Brest and even Stuttgart and Leipzig will not be able to do much in the Champions League next season even though they are currently improving their squad, the quality of the squad that a teams has team does not guarantee that the team can easily compete in the champions league so far and we can see how every season PSG continues to improve the quality of their team but instead continues to fail in the champions league, because the existence of competitive competition in the champions league has always required a team must the mentality, performance and also high consistency to be able to do it.
Been financially stronger than Newcastle does not make Girona better than them, although they are both strong teams, but Newcastle United's wealth couldn't help them secure the Champions League spot, it was Aston Villa this season.

There will actually be some surprises in the Champions League next season, we have new teams that did credibly well in their respective leagues to make it to the Champions League, and all of these teams come with good intentions to either win the Champions League or make a good effort to see if they can go above the group stage to either quarterfinals or semifinals which I think will be difficult for them because of how almost all teams are trying to improve their teams.
Strong finance will help them to achieve something big if they can use it well, and now not all teams that have strong finances can use them to be even better. Newcastle in the previous season they showed progress and actually many hoped they could maintain that, but in reality they could not maintain what they showed in the previous season so they could not get a place in the Champions League this season. Girona last season performed amazingly and now many also hope they can maintain that and can talk a lot in the Champions League. But that is still a question, whether they will really be able to maintain their appearance or just like other teams where in the next season they return to their original appearance which cannot do much either in local competitions or in bigger events. We can only wait now to see what their appearance is like.

Don't know if the new format will be easier for the new teams coming into the Champions League, basically it's a tough competition I'm not so sure about Girona but we don't know how they'll fare next season whether there will be any changes or not, but usually the underdogs won't stay up for long.

Prediction: I don't have much hope for Girona, it's a small team but even if it's a surprise there's no expectation because we know they'll lose at some point, their mentality of playing in the Champions League doesn't have much experience, because of this tournament the mentality of the players also affects it.

Maybe we don't see such a good performance from Arsenal in the Champions League, that's why we can't put this team in the list of favorite teams.
If you add Arsenal to the list, you will have to consider to add more clubs to it. Arsenal is good but not like a very strong team with too much better competitiveness than many clubs around Europe. Arsenal are not much better than Barcelona and if you bring this question up for discussion, there will not come to any universal conclusion. It means these clubs are not different too much in quality and competitiveness.

Quote
Injury problems are unwelcome and can happen to every club, but Arsenal's players are known to have the most injuries every season.
Injury issue was most commonly in era of Arsene Wenger and several previous years. It seems that in last two seasons, injury is no longer biggest problem in Arsenal and it helps them to play impressive in Premier League and Champions League.

It is not right to add Bayern Munich to the list of favorite teams even though Bayern Munich has a good achievement in the Bundesliga but still, Bayern Munich also does not have a big achievement in the Champions League. Thus, I think it is not right if you judge Bayern Munich as the favorite team to win the Champions League trophy. Because after all, in the Champions League basically only Real Madrid always has a good chance to get the trophy every season. Because at least, other teams that have a chance to be able to play in the final match also at least depend on the situation in the same season too.

After all, even though other teams managed to qualify for the Champions League final match but in reality, they still find it difficult to win in the final match if the opponent they face is Real Madrid. Therefore, I personally believe that at least only Real Madrid has a good chance, even though there is also Manchester City but still, that Real Madrid also has better quality than other teams.

I have checked the odds for rematches in second qualifying round and it is really disappointing.  Sad  Too low odds given to favourites this time such as 1.10, 1.20 etc. so I don't think it is worth taking the risk by adding so many of them on a multi betslip.

Playoff round games would probably be much more attracting to bettors. You know there will be strong teams more in number. The playoff round draw is going to take place on August 5. Teams like Galatasaray, Shakhtar Donetsk, Young Boys and more are going to play in that round. I'm looking forward to the league phase though.  Smiley  It would be nice to follow whether some underdog teams will surprise us.

It's really a shame anyway that a player like Kane has never won anything. It's a shame that the only year in which he could have won something, in the end he didn't win anything with Bayern because another team like Leverkusen arrived. What a fantastic story life is. ..
He had high hopes when he decided to come to Bayern Munich, but Leverkusen ruined his dreams in his first season at Bayern Munich. It was truly unexpected, Bayern Munich who had always dominated the Bundesliga had to accept the bitter reality, Bayern Munich failed to win a trophy when Harry Kane was in their squad.
Whether this has something to do with Harry Kane status, who has always failed to win a trophy, or whether it is time for Bayern Munich to let go of its dominance after Leverkusen managed to improve its performance. He also failed to help England win the Euros, whether this season Bayern Munich can return to success with Kompany or will experience a bad season due to the curse of Harry Kane who always fails to win a trophy.

Kane has no titles at all and the situations are completely different on all sides. I'm not saying that a player like Mbappe is a panacea, but he significantly strengthens an already very strong squad that is capable of winning the Champions League. Real have been playing at the highest level in the Champions League for the last couple of seasons, so I don't rule out that happening again this season
These two players are of course quite different because Mbappe has won many trophies with PSG, but he failed to win the UCL trophy with PSG. And if Harry Kane certainly hasn't tasted a prestigious trophy with his old team or with Bayern Munich so he is quite ambitious to win a trophy this season. So speaking of these two players, of course they are strikers who are hungry for goals because they are often the top scorers on the teams they play for. For this reason, we will see how they fare in the Champions League this season.
For Real Madrid, they are getting stronger and in my opinion, Mbappe's arrival has made them favorites again to become champions this season.
Apart from that, we cannot forget the words of luck and surprises that will decorate the Champions League journey this season. Will Leverkusen make a surprise in the Champions League because previously Leverkusen broke many records in their journey in the European league and in the domestic league.
Kane for me, doesn't even need to be in the picture, ever since he left Tottenham Hotspur for Bayern Munich, I haven't seen much significance in terms of improvement in goal scored compared to when he was in Hotspur, even in the just concluded Europe 2024, his contributions to the English national team was less impactful.  let's just hope the arrival of Vincent Kompany will spark up an improvement on kane and the Bayern team this coming.
Mbappé will certainly increase the numbers of accolades in his career upon joining Madrid, he has been passionate to win the champions league and Madrid has all the trappings to give him that opportunity, I just believe we will see more of what the French Man has in-stock in Santiago bernabéu.

As for Leverkusen, of course they will come with a lot of suprise no doubt, but don't forget that, this is not the Europa League, this is the champions League which comes with different aura, they will have to face the very best team from different leagues in Europe.

It's really a shame anyway that a player like Kane has never won anything. It's a shame that the only year in which he could have won something, in the end he didn't win anything with Bayern because another team like Leverkusen arrived. What a fantastic story life is. ..
I don't know if Kane is making his decisions right or wrong with the clubs he has played for and is playing for currently, because why will it be that it was when he got to Bayern Munich was when Leverkusen became stronger and won the league. When he was in Tottenham, he had the opportunity to go to other clubs doing well but he refused until last season that he went to Bayern because he needed a trophy.

Personally, I think that in the beginning Kane was never after trophies and maybe that is what is affecting him currently because he is eager to get one now. Will it be that he will be able to get one next season because with his potentials as a striker he deserves one.

~snip~

Girona was a strong contender last season despite not winning the league and I expect them to get better next season so we should also watch out for them when we point out other teams that can possibly win the league next season.

Could we see Girona become a surprise club among the strong teams in the champions league? maybe the answer is not available for now but anything can still happen. They did have a good season last season in the domestic league and their strengths do need to be tested in a bigger competition to prove their worthiness here.

As long as coach Michel is still the coach of Girona it should be no problem but it is quite unfortunate that they lost some of their players in the summer and I think that will make them a little weak. Arthem Dovbyk is expected to be a goal hungry striker and maybe he will also enter the list of top scorers in the champions league if his sharpness does not dull.
If Girona can retain most of their key players, there is a chance that Michel's squad will make a surprise, like they did last season in La Liga. Girona will be playing their first season in the Champions League, of course Michel is determined not to be eliminated quickly. Girona is quite active in the transfer market, Abel Ruiz, Ladislav Krecji, Donyy Van De Beek, Alenjandro Frances and Gabriel Misehouy have been successfully brought in. However, there is bad news about their striker Arthem Dovbyk who is reportedly willing to move to AS Roma, previously Girona had lost Aleix Garcia, in my opinion Girona management must convince their players to stay and make another breakthrough next season.
