Most people who underestimate their opponents will end up badly in the match and perhaps this reason is the basis for each team playing more carefully. Real Madrid is indeed a strong team because they have quite quality players in them. In the first half, Atalanta managed to make it difficult for Real Madrid to score a goal, but entering the second half, the game changed and it was much more difficult for Atalanta to stem the attacks built by Real Madrid players.
Real Madrid's strategy is like that because after the break, the Real Madrid players must have gotten some powerful ways from their own coach so that the game became different from the first half. Because Real Madrid is not only strong in terms of the players they have, but also mentally strong enough to beat any opponent this season. So Real Madrid will still be a rival that other teams are very wary of from now on, especially if Real Madrid has proven that they can win the 2024 UEFA Super Cup by defeating Atalanta.

Real Madrid is by far the best team for UCL this year, if it's too early to say this, they have the best squad in history right now, it feels very good to watch them, we are talking about a team that plays a game almost without making mistakes. Mbappe did not surprise me by scoring a goal in his first game, I was sure he would and he did.

I am already curious about how many goals he will score this season, he will do what he wants with the solid passer and playmakers behind him.
Expectations are high for Mbappe. I am sure he will experience a lot of goal celebrations in La Liga. There are many players in the back who will feed him. I think Mbappe can finish the season with close to 30 goals after these players feed him well. I congratulate President Perez for crowning the great squad in Real Madrid with the best. Mbappe will play exceptionally in this team.
yes most likely mbappe will be the top scorer in la liga later, or other competitions, seeing the attack line occupied by real madrid now mbappe will be spoiled with good passes, as long as he finds a good position to take advantage of all the passes and produce goals. and as i saw in last night's match against atalanta, mbappe is good at positioning himself, the chemistry that is established with his new teammates is very good, real madrid is a solid club in all lines. i look forward to the achievements that will be made later.
i agree behind real madrid's brilliance there is florentino ferez. i used to call him the grandfather with the magic hand Grin

Vinicius and Bellingham are big game players!! Shocked

After seeing these two Real Madrid stars in providing assists for Valverde and Mbappe's goals they deserve to win the Ballon D'or this year. But it is impossible and one of them will definitely win. I am at a loss for words seeing the game of these two players is very important for the continuity of Real Madrid's attack line.

Vinicius is always one step ahead with his speed and dribbling so he can trick the opposing defender who has even fallen before he can stop the cross. Bellingham is tireless in almost any position whether defending or attacking he is always there.

Anyway, this is a portrait of 4 dangerous players who will destroy every opponent's defense. Are you ready to welcome them in the champions league? Smiley

It was easy to expect Real Madrid to win against Atlanta while others might be skeptical from the fact that Atlanta shockingly defeated Bayern Leverkusen who was undefeated throughout the whole season  until that game, many never wanted to ignore the fact that Atlanta could pull something but this is Real Madrid they showed why they are the galaticos.

Atlanta also showed some pressure but as the match goes by especially second half Real Madrid keep on their pressure and possession and this was a similar situation against Dortmund in the champions league final and it was obvious this is a worst approach against them since they would tire themselves out and Real Madrid are often stronger as the match comes to end.
Real was the favorite in this match, and nothing unexpected happened, they won confidently. The first half was more equal, but only because Real played more cautiously, but in the second half they became more active and Atalanta had no chance against such a team.

Yesterday I read an interview with Mourinho, after Fenerbahce's defeat to Lille, he was pleased with his team's play, but said that he does not see any tragedy in this defeat, since he believes that Fenerbahce could not have won this tournament, and could not even have reached the final of the Champions League, which seems to be true. But regarding the Europa League, he has a completely different opinion, and seems to believe that Fenerbahce is capable of reaching the final.

He has the potential to even exceed that goal limit for the season bit one thing i am scared of for him is that he is not so used to being used as a top 9 (striker) he is a kind of player who plays more like a free role but mostly operate from the wing and then always move inside the box to score goals. I think being used as a full time striker will limit most of his movement and will probably affect his style of play. Vinicius is also an important player and there is no way Ancellotti can use them both so Mbappe will just have to adapt to his new role, the support from other players will make it easier for him. He is a good signing and i also believe it is possible for him to exceed 30 goal mark for the season.

Real Madrid isn't just good this season, they're looking absolutely unstoppable. And with Mbappé already finding the back of the net in his debut? Forget about it. We're talking potential Ballon d'Or performance here.

This team is stacked. Top to bottom, they've got talent, experience, and the hunger to win it all.  The coach knows his stuff, Perez has built a powerhouse, and Mbappé... well, lets just say the kid's a natural born goal-scorer.

I'm predicting 30+ goals easy for him this season. He's gonna be giving defenders nightmares.

Mark my words, Real Madrid is the team to beat. They're not just playing soccer, they're putting on a masterclass every time they step on the pitch. And right now, there's not a team in the world that can touch them.

They were aggressive from the start, although they didn't manage to score early but attacked the most.  And after halftime they attacked and scored two. And Kylian Mbappé is able to score goals with the magic of his feet, and he needs to perform even better in this match. This match was the most I bet on, and I was sure that I would definitely win this match and I would win the bet, of course I did.

Mbappe scored in his first match already and made a great start.  Smiley  It was obvious Real Madrid would win the match by the way. But for the first 60 minutes, I can say Atalanta were really good with resisting. But against a team full of big stars, until when would they be able to hold on? I especially liked Vinicius Jr's performance. He looks completely ready for new season.

Mbappe won his first trophy with Real Madrid already at the beginning. He has no adaptation issue as it seems. I expect Real Madrid to be more deadly from now on.

Yeah, Atalanta did well with their man marking for 60 minutes. But their consistency fell a lot after that. Atalanta's players can always use man-on-man marking till 90 min. And it helps Real Madrid easily get free space in the second half. And as i expected, Atalanta's players would be exhausted, and it happened after 60+. Their intense mark for a Real Madrid player took a toll on them. But the quality is the main difference here, and Real Madrid beats them with a clean sheet.

Also, Mbappe's goal showed his quick adaptation to Ancelotti's formation and his teammates. The way he anticipated open space, moved fast and shot with his body open. This shows he's confident as a part of Madrid. No doubt people called him one of GOAT.

So true. I personally expected to see Atalanta in great shape and to be a rested team but it was nothing like this and we saw a Real Madrid still having the hunger for perfomance and hunting trophies. It was also clear that Atalanta needs some fresh transfers , especially in attack where they lacked consistence and vision.

Overall , I'm a bit happy for Mbappe because he scored his first goal but I'm also happy for him because he finally won an important trophy for him ( besides World Cup ) and I'm sure he really wants to be UCL champion with Real Madrid.  Grin

Mbappe did not surprise me by scoring a goal in his first game, I was sure he would and he did.

I am already curious about how many goals he will score this season, he will do what he wants with the solid passer and playmakers behind him.

Indeed, Real Madrid squad right now is promising and they should try to grab the major tournaments: La Liga, UEFA Champions League, Copa del Rey and UEFA Super Cup! All in one year and yes they can Wink

Real Madrid's squad will be preparing for all kinds of trophies in the new season this year, with them ready to compete no matter what team they play. They have become the strongest team in this new season, because the attack department has more experienced players including Vinicius Jr., Mbappe, Rodrigo, especially the defense department of Real Madrid team is stronger.

Today Bellingham was deployed as a 10, this is a place I have always been critical of him not having that quality, he managed to do well there last season simply because of Toni Kroos been in the team, but without him they look lost there, I think against bigger opponents Ancelotti Should play either modric or the young Arder Guler there as a 10 and give Bellingham a no 8 role instead
It won't be easy to get over the fact that Toni Kroos has retired, this is their first official match after it and so this are expected outcome though Jude still did well especially from the fact that he was still the man of the match I think Federico Valverde might be able  to do better in that position with time there, Ancelotti knows this and believes on Federico Valverde while when Arder Guler or Modric plays he may switch or still plays 10

I also feel that something is missing from Real Madrid's game and apparently, that was the impact of Toni Kross not being there. Toni Kroos has always been the conductor of the game during his time at Real Madrid and his role is very crucial because Real Madrid not only can dictate the tempo, but with the vision and creativity he has, it provides plenty of opportunities for his teammates to score.

I think Luka Modric can play the role of no.8 but unfortunately he is not young anymore, and probably won't be at Real Madrid for long.

They were aggressive from the start, although they didn't manage to score early but attacked the most.  And after halftime they attacked and scored two. Lol, just like I said Real Madrid will destroy Atalanta, they prove me right.

Atalanta only have few chance, but they don't have good individual skill, so they can't score a goal from the chance they created.

Mbappe has very impressed statistic: 1 match, 1 goal, 1 trophy. Is there any other player that has the same statistic? Cheesy

It was obvious but the first half was too boring though. Mbappe has started quickly indeed. It isn't a thing that I'm surprised of. Big players like him should be able to do this.

Congratulations to Real Madrid, it's still weird to see Mbappe in Real Madrid since whenever I hear "Mbappe" my mind always think he's a PSG player.

It is the same here as well.  Tongue  After watching him at PSG for six years I assume it will take us some time to get used to it. When Messi signed for PSG I had the same feelings too. Anyways, I would like to link Mbappe with Real Madrid instead of PSG. He has been just the player Real Madrid would make use of. From now on, they are going to be much more difficult to be stopped for sure.

There should be no need to hesitate to bet on Mbappe because he managed to score one goal in that match. But maybe you took a chance on another bet where Real Madrid winning was a more likely prediction before the match started and congratulations on that win.

The way Atalanta played against Real Madrid, showed that they deserved winning the Europa League trophy, I was very sure Real Madrid was going to defeat them but Atalanta didn't make it easy for them, they outplayed the Champions League winners sometimes and even missed good chances if only they had another player that got the skill to take one players like Lookman they would scored a goal but come to think of it Madrid has quality in all areas and they'll still be top contenders of the Champions League this season. I thinks Mbappé is going to have a good season ahead, he seemed very happy playing with his dream team and that has made it very easy for him to blend in, I have this believe that he'll score 30 plus goal this season and probably be the top goal scorer in the Champions League, that could be very easy when you're playing alongside Vini Jr, Rodrygo and Bellingham, what a squad, anyways he's in a club where he's got high chances of lifting the Champions League trophy without much effort and pressure, I wish him the best anyways however congratulations to Real Madrid.

Never underestimate the opponent, even an underdog can surprise in this match, who knows? But ultimately I believe Real Madrid and most people will share my opinion on this.

Yeah... Will do a single bet on Real Madrid 1X2.
I actually want to bet on Mbappe scoring but I think it's still a bit risky. It's still not safe, so it's better to bet on a Real Madrid win.

The first half of this match was very boring. Both teams played very cautiously in the first half. We haven't seen any team make such a strong attack in the first half. Real Madrid probably only had 3 shots in the first half, and Atalanta's players had 2 shots.

However, Ancelotti changed the entire scenario of the match in the second half. From the beginning of the second half, Real Madrid played attacking tactics. And in the 59th minute, Valverde scored the first goal of the match from Vini's pass. Mbappe scored from Bellingham's assist in just 9 minutes. It was Mbappe's first goal in a Madrid jersey. Bellingham, Mbappe, VIni and Valverde have all performed very well. It would not be wrong to say that this young squad is the strongest squad in the world right now. This team will dominate the La Liga and the Champions League next season as well.
The first half was like that because no one wanted to make a mistake at the beginning of the match, maybe Ancelotti was waiting to see what could be expected from Atalanta, but as soon as Real started to play more actively it was immediately clear that they were superior to Atalanta and the goals followed. A good start for Mbappe, he scored in his first official match for Real, I think that should give him confidence, and the first match brings him a trophy, the UEFA Super Cup, that should be important for any player.

a fresh new season for the madridite but yet the same old glory always comes with it. In some way, we're talking more about mbape because this is his first start and truthfully, he deserves all the attention he is receiving cause he has lived up to his name as huge signing on the part of real Madrid. It's the perfect start at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium for this season with a new trophy at hand. As always, vini jnr always brings a totally different and unique energy to the game when it comes to playing for real Madrid. At Brazil a lot of people expected more from him but it didn't work out as expected but here we have our ever strong and vibrant side man doing those crazy runs and giving sharp assist like never before. Thede three combo, vini jnr, mbape and Jude Bellingham will certainly make things deficult for any opposition they go up against.

I actually thought I was the only one seeing that last night, because real Madrid wasn't playing as the real madrid I know, especially against an inferior opposition like Atalanta, no disrespect to them, but the absence of Toni Kross makes things difficult to click yesterday and to be honest, if a reliable replacement of Toni Kross isn't found, they will definitely struggled against the bigger boys.

Secondly, you are very much correct when you said that Luka modric is the only one in the team who can also play that position very well, but my question is can he be able to play a complete match against a top team that plays with high intensity considering his current age?
Though some people will argue that camavinga can also be utilize in that position, but in my own perspective, he can't brings the quality of play toni Kross brings to the table as a deep lying playmaker, so till that is fix, I see real madrid struggling against the bigger boys if not is done about it.
Ancelotti as already spoken of not needing any new signings and I believe they can work things out and with time Federico Valverde would be able to feel that gap or any other stars.
It definitely can't be easy to replace Toni Kroos just like how it wasn't easy to get over when Ronaldo or Benzema left though  things are better now  with time. Also relaying on Modric won't really be solving the problem in the long run since he is also in the point of leaving the club to possibly retire which is another reason Ancelotti have to come up with a solution using other stars like Federico Valverde or others

Real Madrid was very big on the Atalanta team. Although he attacked with counter attacks from time to time in Atalanta, he could not show much presence.
If there are no injuries or other serious problems, Real Madrid will be an overtime team. The defense and offensive line have become even stronger (after Mbappe arrived).
Coming to the match, Real did not find a great position in the first half. The only thing that remains in my mind is that Mbappe shot and returned from the defense with a confused shot, if I am not mistaken.
In the 59th minute of the second half, Valverde made the score 1-0, and 9 minutes after this goal, Mbappe made the score 2-0, and the match ended with this goal.
Real Madrid opened the season with the cup and gave the message that I will be the biggest player in the Champions League next season.
