Regarding defense, I agree that it is important for Barcelona to evaluate what has happened.

The problem in Barcelona's defense does not include the four man wall alone. It is rather a team problem. The midfielders and wing forwards okay very important roles in the defensive shape of any team. Poor trackbacks and closing of spaces down the middle would leave the defense line exposed time and again.

They are likely to concede in any game against a side with a decent attack.

With Tottenham losing 2:7 to Bayern München, now i have high hopes that Red Star Belgrade could also win against Spurs lol 😂

They won against Liverpool last season, 2-0.

I never thought they were a decent team, I might watch a game or 2. They surprised me against Oly on Tuesday.
Marko Marinb plays there, anybody remember him? He was supposed to be the next great thing in football at some point. Grin

Red Star Belgrade travel poorly but they have an incredibly passionate, intimidating atmosphere at their home stadia. They are not to be underestimated in Belgrade.

Tottenham is currently being chaotic because of the issue of Jan Ver having an affair with Ericksen's wife.  Bayern's goal party to Tottenham successfully made Gnabry the top score of UCL current, A fresh breeze is blowing into Bayern Munich  Cheesy. Bayern proved to be one of the UCL champions' favorite teams this season.

Not bad! You got prediction absolutely right.  Wink
Actually Barcelona is my favorite team and I get quite sentimental every time they play. Therefore, my 5:1 prediction was quite sentimental one, lol. But it was beautiful game, every second of the game was awesome. I enjoyed it thoroughly especially the second half. What an enthralling performance from both, Messi and Suarez.

All due respect to Leo, Frenkie, Arthur & Marc-Andre (they're all top of tops at their positions), Barca with Valverde as a coach is a loose cannon. You can't expect anything peculiar from this team, especially in away games. Barca can play like a Champions League contender but at the same time like a mediocre LaLiga team. Pure and really annoying (for everyone that sympathizes with Catalans) charm of the team run by an incompetent guy.

While i don't think that Valverde is top coach, i don't think that it's all his  fault. This Barcelona team is going towards it's end. Barcelona is basically at the top since 2004 and Frank Rijkaard, sooner or later this domination has to come to an end, and we are witnessing it. Period after Messi will be tough.

I hope Leipzig can regain their best appearance. because in the previous game Leipzig suffered defeat in the domestic market.

That's what I thought. They did experience an unexpected defeat in the German league. If a similar appearance is brought to this UCL match, they will most likely lose points.

But behind it all, I am sure Leipzig will return to their previous best performances in today's match and will not waste this opportunity.

I do not believe this, Finally the concern happened too. Leipzig really lost their game, even that happened in the domestic league and the champions league yesterday. A drastic decline occurred for the appearance of Leipzig, I really did not expect them to lose at home.

I won't argue with that. Valverde is an average manager, his tactics are standard and too ordinary. The possession play and build-up from wings, this tactic is used by almost 30-40% clubs around the world. Considering the stature of Barcelona, he is not capable enough. Barcelona needs coach who can build a link-up play between midfield and forward line and at the same time, keep defensive line intact. My choice would be Erik Ten Hag.

It was one game. No need to panic,,, seriously. If it was like my team where we are constantly conceding then I would be worried.
4 games at home this season, 6 goals conceded in total (at least 1 in each game). Most people won't talk about this (fans probably don't care) because the team is an unstoppable machine in the league right now, but it is actually a pretty shocking stat if you ask me.

I forgot to talk about the only game I watched yesterday: Slavia Prague vs Dortmund. I gotta say, Slavia are really good team, despite the result and the germans missing a couple of clear chances, they're actually a really solid team. The fact that they managed to get a draw against Inter, and they could've done the same yesterday (they were the better team, but they weren't clinical enough with the chances they had) against Dortmund says a lot about this team. Slavia at home is no joke.

It's going to be very hard for Inter to qualify from the group stages now except they can get 4 points from the two consecutive fixture coming up against Dortmund. While Barcelona is in a very good position as they should comfortably get 6 points for Slavia Prague.
I think inter have blown their chances of qualifying, I knew this was going to be a tough group for them, and now it is proving even tougher, it'll take a miracle for inter to qualify ahead of Dortmund, but it's still a bit open.
They shouldn't have drawn against slavia Prague, when you're in such group, you need to beat and take away six points from the weakest team.

I never expected them to perform too well in the UCL, it's in the Italian seria A that I'm backing them to win the trophy, only if juve has something to say about this.

Inter can even get 2 points from Dortmund, and full points from the 2 remaining games and I think they still have a chance, but they depend on other results.

Very tricky and this was what everyone called the group of death anyway. Barcelona also is not a given factor here, they will really continue to struggle and they still have to go to Italy and get at least a draw there. I'm closing my eyes the entire match here!

I saw the Highlights & Goals that happened in that match because I couldn't watch it live. Looks like Bayern are too strong to be against Tottenham.
Hopefully Lionel Messi is also able to score 4 goals like the Bayern players did.

I doubt Messi can do it this time, he is not fully recovered yet. Barcelona is still under their best form since the new season start, on other side Inter is on their best form in Serie-A. Barcelona may win the match as they are playing at Nou Camp but the score wont be that high. I guess there will be only 1 or 2 max goal difference at the end of the match, I predict the match will end in 2-1 or 2-0.

Inter is in top form and leading the Serie A with 6 consecutive victories and by showing a great deal of beautiful football.I think they play motivated at their highest against a team like Barcelona and they will hope to beat Barcelona tonight, which in my opinion is far from their best form,so it will be a beautiful game to watch on Tv.

What a nice comeback from Barcelona with the two world class goals by Suarez. I predicted it correctly and it is a nice win for Barcelona and of course nice win for me. Too bad I did not brave enough to place live bet when there was a fast goal by Inter, I wonder how much was the odds for Barcelona to win the match when Inter was leading by 1 goal. I expect to see a revenge from Inter on the 2nd match in Giuseppe Meazza/San Siro.

~snip~

The Barcelona XI for the match has been declared and guess what? Messi is starting the game!!
The main reason for Barcelona's struggle in Laliga away games this season is the absence of Messi in team. But now he has fully recovered and ready to fire!
Also tonight XI has De Jong, Arthur and Busquets in midfield along with Roberto, Lenglet, Pique and Semedo in defence. It is interesting that Valverde chose Semedo above Firpo to start as Left Back. Let see how it goes. Also I would love if Barca substitute Suarez with Dembele in second half and we will see Griezmann, Messi and Dembele trio for the first time ever!

My Prediction: Barcelona 5 : 1 Inter

You might confuse Inter for  Milan when you made this prediction Cheesy

Joke aside, and with all due respect to Messi, as Barcelona is completely different team when he is on, i don't think that 5-1 is realistic result, 2-1 would be my prediction. But of course anything can happen, we saw it last night on Spurs vs Bayern game

One thing i noticed about Liverpool is that they play a high line of defense( I think it's a Klopp style just like he did at Dortmund) which is not good if a team is very tactical and can catch you on the break. Maybe Klopp could do some reinforcing in the near future.

I have been a Real Madrid Fan for a long time and one thing for sure is, defense has never been our thing. Yes we have brilliant individuals at the back, but they are mostly attack minded, that's why we barely keep clean sheets. Now this has been worsened as they age and there are no perfect replacements.

It was one game. No need to panic,,, seriously. If it was like my team where we are constantly conceding then I would be worried. But one game where they let in 3 goals was because their defense had a bad night. And they still have the best defense in premier league. So I would not be worried at all.

Spurs? I am afraid for them seriously.
Yeah Van dijk is not a perfect player, he can't always be brilliant, always onfire and play well every week. sometimes he has a bad night, which is normal for every player. Come on man this is only 1 game? before never has anyone scored more than 3 goals when Virgil played, that doesn't mean that Liverpool defense has begun to falter, this is only 1 game. and I'm sure Klopp will fix it soon and Virgil cs will start to learn better, which is far more important to them is they win the match.

Very good contribution from Messi in the game. Suarez also played very well and was a decisive winner of Barcelona in the UCL match last night, although still in second place in the standings, there are still a few matches left.

Decent performance from Barcelona, that has been typical of their home games, and they extend their unbeaten run at the New Camp to 33 games with over a hundred goals scored and very few conceded.
Currently work needs to be done on the defense, as inter Milan had very good chances when they were on top of the game and the brilliance of Ter Stegen kept Barcelona in the game.
I admit that Barcelona is always great when playing in their own stadiums, I'm not surprised if Barcelona score a lot of goals in every season because they have players who are always ambitious in scoring goals. Regarding defense, I agree that it is important for Barcelona to evaluate what has happened.

Once Again, Messi proved why he is the GOAT. Impressive performance from him on second half helped the Barcelona team to comeback against Inter Milan. Though I think Inter milan deserve to win this match but Barcelona won anyhow. Most interesting thing is, Inter scored at the camp nou after 49 year's.

The cureent UCL winner Liverpool seal a hard win against Red bull by 4-3. Mohammad Salah saved the day for Liverpool. Red Bull scored 3 at Anfield, unbelievable performance from the team.

Messi's contribution to this match was very good even though he had just returned from an injury, provided assists and several key passes. Barcelona are lucky to still be able to win the match thanks to a late goal from Suarez.
barcelona is still in second place in the group F table.

Without Messi in the game, I really don't see how Barcelona  could have won the game sure Suarez had a great game overall by scoring the two goals but the match would have ended in a draw without the Messi assist in the 84th minute of the game.

And I will think Liverpool were very lucky to get all three points at Anfield, they seemed to become cocky when they returned from the break and underestimated Salzburg and almost paid the price for it.
