my prediction is also the same, in the Chelsea vs Madrid match, it looks like Chelsea will win with a thin score...

Benzema is Madrid's mainstay striker, but this time he is undergoing "fasting" activities, I'm sure this will affect his performance even if a little. besides that Chelsea is also in pretty good condition even though in the match against Brentford (premier league) they lost badly.
Real Madrid will be counting on Benzema again today to win the away game from Chelsea. I am optimistic about Madrid's victory today even though this match was played in front of Chelsea fans.

After the humiliating defeat to Barcelona then I think Real Madrid have returned to good form with a 1-2 win against Celta Vigo. Benzema is expected to crush Chelsea's hopes of qualifying for the semifinals, leaving Madrid to win this match by a few goals difference. 1-3 I hope maybe as the final result of the first leg.

Real Madrid won against PSG only for Benzema's outstanding performance. Real Madrid would never have won against PSG without Benzema's outstanding performance.

Obviously but Benzema is also part of Real Madrid thus that means Real Madrid's performance is also currently on top right now. Chelsea on the other hand is pretty bad especially after losing against Brentford few days but bookies are currently having Chelsea as a slight favourites despite of that so it looks like this is going to be a tight game between these two

In today's match too, I would say that Real Madrid's victory or defeat will depend on Benzema's performance. Real Madrid will win if Benzema can play well. In the match we will see the dominance of Chelsea.

Its the whole team effort though

I won't be playing for the Champions League game today but if I were you I would choose Chelsea in their game against Real Madrid, I think losing 4-1 to Brentford is quite natural considering Chelsea have to prepare their key players for today's Champions League match. My prediction in this match is Chelsea 2 - 1 Real Madrid.

^  Chelsea defends well under normal circumstances.  But with all the sh*t that's going on behind the scenes at the club and the uncertainty of its future, it's looking like it has been affecting the squad on the pitch.  Chelsea lost to Brentford 1 - 4.  I mean wtf, that doesn't just happen.  So yeah...  Knowing that and Real being Real, I'm taking a shot at the draw no bet for Real Madrid at decent odds at 2.60.

What do you guys think?

I understand your point and It's a valid one, but then what about that game being a form of a wake up call for the Blues ? Real Madrid would be a playing away from home and I'd not want to underestimate a Chelsea side, under Tuchel.

That said, the odds seems rather valuable but, I'll settle for BTTS @ 1.96 and meanwhile Bayern Munich (without significant injury worries) ML @ 1.62 against Villarreal is great value, right ?

^  Right!  Good call on the Bayern one.  And I think I'm gonna follow you on the BTTS lean for Chelsea vs Real Madrid.

You still play the EPL pool?  Who's leading that table?  I going back and I'll play next season after skipping this one.

Yes, I'm still in the EPL pool.... @CasperBGD is leading but it's a really close one this year for the top position, than the last few years.
Here's the top 15 on the Chart https://i.imgur.com/eb65DyO.png

Yeah but I don't think Tuchel deployed that much of a 'B squad' vs Brentford.  There were key players there who'd still be playing vs Real Madrid later.  But yeah it's a tough one.  I guess I was midcurving Chelsea's conundrum too much in my head.  And losing to Brentford in that way tends to sway you to bet for the other side.  Lol.  But dunno I feel comfy taking the draw no bet for Madrid.  If it ends in a draw I get my money back.  Grin

Imo, It's not much about whether or not Chelsea played a B team against Brentford, but rather than having more time to reflect why and where it all went wrong for them ahead of an important game like this.

Keep in mind that the odds you get are not only influenced by one side (Chelsea), but can also happen because of the other side (Real Madrid), soon we will see the line-up for the Chelsea Vs Real Madrid match. I hope that Real Madrid will put their best players in the starting line-up. BTW, talking about score prediction, I'm still sticking with my statement, which is Chelsea 2 - 1 Real Madrid Cheesy

Liverpool and Manchester City are the two English clubs who have completed Leg 1 with a win. Liverpool beat Benfica with a convincing score (1-3) to face Leg 2 at Anfield. Manchester City won 1-0 over Atletico Madrid at the Etihad Stadium so the chances of qualifying are still small because in Leg 2 Atletico Madrid still has hope of scoring more than 1.
While Chelsea is still a question mark whether they can overtake Liverpool and Manchester City to win over Real Madrid in Leg 1?
The opponent Chelsea will face is Real Madrid, it will be very difficult in my opinion.

Liverpool managed to win with a convincing score, so their chances of qualifying for the next round are very large, because in the 2nd leg they only need a draw or defeat with a margin of 1 goal.

on the other hand Man City narrowly won over Atletico, Kevin De Bruyne's goal being the only goal in this match. In this 1st leg, Atletico really played defensively, even during the match they never did Shots on Target or Shots off Target once, this is a very bad statistic.
I think there is no hope for Atletico to beat Man City in the 2nd leg if they still apply the same strategy.
Atlético Madrid did a total defensive play against Manchester City and it was a ridiculous game. Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson Moraes dared to go up the midfield line in that match. What a boring match. If the second leg of Atlético Madrid game still applies that style, then Manchester City will prepare the defense well to prevent counter attacks from Atlético Madrid.
I'm convinced it will be smooth sailing for Liverpool in the second leg as they were able to secure a beautiful win in their first leg. The moment Mane and Konate scored in the first half, I knew it was going to be a win for them. Although Benfica played a worthy game, they were not enough opposition for Liverpool.

If Real Madrid depended so much on Benzema's performance then I believe this season they will not be able to reach the Champions League final. Benzema was the star of Real Madrid's win against PSG in the round of 16, but today Real Madrid will face a completely different team to PSG so victory will be difficult.

Hopefully today's Chelsea vs Real Madrid match will be the most interesting match to watch. For the first leg the result might be a draw, but Chelsea can win at home today if they take advantage of all the opportunities they have.

Manchester city is really a strong team , athletico madrid was so good in defense that it will be very difficult for any team to score them , with all the good defense and marking Manchester City city were still able to defeat athletico madrid.  Manchester city performance yesterday was so entertaining,  even athletico madrid had a fine play just that it was very difficult for them to even draw the match.
I don't know why you say the match is very interesting ?
Honestly, I personally saw that the match was quite boring because the styles of play of the two teams were very different, Manchester City did look more in control of the ball but the atletico who kept on defending made the match as if it were a passing exercise for Manchester City, there was no attack from Atletico made this match in my opinion quite boring because for the full 90 minutes, Atletico only defended in total without making counter attacks that endangered the manchester city goal.

I think the same thing as Chelsea's current situation with the owner who is on the verge of being sanctioned then it will affect his squad, and also with yesterday's defeat there must have been an impact in the champions league match how not if the players tend to not concentrate then it can be a defeat up front Real Madrid is considered a big team or a serious threat.

Honestly, I'm not here to side with Chelsea as the host, but yesterday's doubts were still there, this shows that Madrid has a great opportunity, especially in the big bets offered by the bookie.
I predict how Madrid can win tonight.

After last week's Premier League defeat, I have a little doubt about Chelsea now. Because they won just before the Champions League week with a disappointing defeat as well. Now they will face a stronger team than the one they faced yesterday. Chelsea have to be really prepared for this.
I have the same thought. Chelsea played at home against Brentford and indeed they dominated the game but their performance was terrible and they didn't have a good finishing touch. Although in this match Chelsea will also act as the host, but judging from their recent form, I doubt Chelsea can beat Real Madrid. Real Madrid is a very strong opponent, and if Chelsea can't make improvements then they will share the same fate as PSG.

But in fact, all three goals were the result of teamwork and not some phenomenal strike or individual feat. If Chelsea focuses too much on Benzema it will be a big mistake as there are many other dangerous players in Real Madrid who can punish for such underestimation of other players.
As for domination, I completely disagree, I think regardless of the result of today's match, the statistical indicators will be the same for both teams in all respects. Maybe I'm wrong, but we'll check it soon.

It is his main objective, get one point in Etihad and wait for the second leg at home. He almost made it but the substitution of Foden changed the game. The player created some good opportunities and one of them was converted to a goal by De Bruyne. One goal only but it is enough for Manchester City to get a win in the first leg.

The plan was broken so Simeone and Athletico Madrid will have to play the second leg with more attacking. It will bring more opportunities for Manchester City to beat Athletico. We know Manchester City are very good to compromise holes in defense of opponents.

As for Real Madrid, now they are in better shape than Chelsea, which got tired at the end of the season. Real Madrid will not be easy at Stamford Bridge, remember how in the match against PSG away they only miraculously conceded only one goal. And in Spain, the Real plays very well and at home he is likely to win.

Brotherhood is love
Quite happy with Man City's 1-0 win. But I think from the beginning they could make more than one goal. Sorry if I was a little late because I didn't watch the live broadcast. I just read the news and watched the goal from De Bruyne from Youtube. Am I not wrong to see these statistics?  But maybe this is true because i read if Simone use formation 5-5-0 no striker. This is what I just heard.

Haha you're not wrong it really happened something i have never seen before anywhere honestly it's a bit embarrassing especially in UCL competition
Maybe Atletico try to play defensively hoping for a draw then attack in the second leg  Cheesy unfortunately this method is not effective
I'm more curious what strategy to use in the second leg I'm sure Atletico will apply an attacking strategy.

Simeone used the best option he had. What he did is exactly what he would have done. I love the man for whom he is. Though generally the match was very boring because Atletico Madrid played defence throughout. The strategy almost worked 100% before the wise Guardiola made the changes that spilled the oil.

Assuming Atletico Madrid came out to play Manchester City, they would have gone home with 3 goals and above which will kill their chances of progressing to the next stage. 1 home goal is easy to cancel, but what Atletico should avoid is making Manchester City score before them in the returning leg. They should face them squarely and they can have the chances to progress. Second leng will not be as boring and defensive as the first leg.

Let's see if we see a surprise tonight after yesterday's wins of England's teams vs the Iberian teams. Looking at the quotes, Madrid has a better chance against Chelsea than Villareal against Bayern

Chelsea vs Real 2.1/3.3/3.6
Villareal vs Bayern 5.5/4.4/1.55

I really hope at least one Spanish team can beat their opponent to at least avoid a all English final game of the Champions League.
You should not count on the fact that Villarreal will be able to pass Bayern. As for Real Madrid, now they are in better shape than Chelsea, which got tired at the end of the season.
