Am sure Villarreal will step up and do better in their next round. They need collective team hardwork and taken of every opportunity during the play should be their target. I feel they’ll pass the next round.
Villarreal against Bayern Munich, Villarreal can try their best but they should know they are out of the tournament, Bayern would win Villarreal. Even if not in this away match for Bayern, Villarreal will not qualify for UCL semi final.

^ Actually, I think the only thing that Benfica did wrong is that they did not guard the players properly because every now and then the Liverpool players laid some really great through passes, and they're always seemed to be one player who would reach at the end of the ball. And all the three goals in my opinion could be scored because of that. just look at the goals, I think everyone can see what went wrong. Now Liverpool just needs to not do something stupid in the second leg.
Benfica did not do anything wrong, they can not do beyond their capability. In term of players, you cannot compare Liverpool with Benfica, we all knew it was a lost match for Benfica before the match began, even if the two clubs have to play again and again.

Is obvious Liverpool is walking away with the 3 goals to 1 as the extra 7 minutes will not be enough for Benfica to make an equalizing score and glad I bet in favor of Liverpool straight winning, I am just waiting for the final blow from the referee to start celebrating my winning.
70% of Liverpool's chances of progressing to the semifinals already exist and only need to play casually during the 2nd leg at Anfield.
Liverpool performed great with the rhythm of the game as usual. Liverpool did not give Benfica space to attack even though Kanote made a mistake so Benfica managed to score 1 goal. L. Diaz's third goal changed everything so 7 minutes of stoppage time could not be used for goals.
In addition to the slick appearance shown by the Liverpool players, they are also always able to target a fairly large final score. Against Benfica was very unbalanced, so it would be very natural with the end result. I quite salute the Benfica players who still fought back at the end of the first half to score 1 goal.
Liverpool escape certainly pushed them to become a club that performed optimally. In my opinion, the results of Leg 3 will not be much different.

Atletico's strategy is quite boring to look at but on the other hand they can't be too open in this match and actually if you look at their strategy I think they really want to achieve a draw in this match but unfortunately Bruyne's Goal made them fail in their plan.
In the second leg later I think they will work a little harder at least to equalize the current Aggregate and try their luck on penalties

Simeone has always used a defensive strategy when facing a much stronger team. So I agree that the game was a bit boring, not only one goal
was created, but Atletico didn't create any chances at all. It seems that from the start Atletico were eyeing a draw, but with the quality of Man City's
players, they managed to win the game. Maybe the second leg will be much more interesting, because it's impossible for Atlético to play defensively
again, because they need a win to qualify for the next round. It could be that after Atletico managed to score a goal and 1-1 on aggregate, then Atletico
will play defensively again to try their luck in the penalty shootout. But if Atlético adopts this strategy, I think it's too risky, because the chances of
winning on penalties are 50-50.

I think Simeone is an experienced coach, he will think of a strategy to win in the second leg without the need for a penalty shootout. But because
Man City's quality is much better, I predict Man City will qualify for the next round. Moreover, Man City has won in the first leg, so in the second leg
Man City only need a draw, but if we look at Guardiola's character he is unlikely to play defensively. I predict in the second leg Man City will continue
to play attacking and will win the game.
He was being too cautious or indeed he is now quite aware of the strength of his team but indeed this is very unfit to look at though that is a good thing.
he is starting to follow in the footsteps of his UCL city rivals Madrid this season by taking advantage of the home lag but it will still be quite difficult because City are not that naive to let the second leg run smoothly for Atletico

As expected, Manchester City were able to win the match even though they only scored one goal.
That was a really hard fought victory, and i am pretty sure City will be happy irrespective of the fact that it is just a lone goal, what matters is that they have the advantage heading into the second leg; the game was very predictable before it even began, we knew City would do all the attacking and Athletico would do all the defending, and that is exactly how the game played out.

If that match had ended in a goaless draw then City would be under so much pressure in the second leg, cause all Athletico would do then is to continue defending and wait for their opportunity, but with this City lead i think the second leg will be somewhat different, if Athletico chooses to defend, City will be very patient cause they already have the advantage, so i believe Athletico Madrid are going to be forced to try a little bit of attack in the second leg, and that could leave vital spaces open, of which City would capitalize and punish them, overall City are definitely going through in my opinion.

I think Atlético Madrid's strategy was quite good, even if they hadn't conceded that goal, they would have had a good chance of being the team that won the round.
Although they have a boring strategy to follow, they have to play defensively to win the match. City are a much stronger team and if Atletico hadn't played so defensively, we would probably have watched 3-4 goals in this match.
They will still have a chance as they lost by only one goal

As I predicted Liverpool to crush Benfica and Manchester City to win the game,at least after so many failures in my Champions League betting yesterday was a good night, both teams to win had like a near 1.85 odd which for me was good enough. In fact I am a bit surprised that Manchester City only managed to score so late and to score only one goal,I predicted complete domination from them, not only in the game play which they usually do but also in the result, this result leaves everything open to the return match but I think Manchester City will qualify further.

Liverpool played really well against Benfica. the first goal which was headed in really a great goal because the cross and the header were pinpoint accurate in my opinion.

Sadio Mané did look concerned about the offside flag after scoring the second goal but the flag stayed down.

Benfica did try to make a comeback after scoring a goal but it was not to be. I really wanted Mohammad Salah to score but it was really not his night. and he also missed a one-on-one chance with the goalkeeper. but overall Liverpool played really well.

Liverpool and Manchester City are the two English clubs who have completed Leg 1 with a win. Liverpool beat Benfica with a convincing score (1-3) to face Leg 2 at Anfield. Manchester City won 1-0 over Atletico Madrid at the Etihad Stadium so the chances of qualifying are still small because in Leg 2 Atletico Madrid still has hope of scoring more than 1.
While Chelsea is still a question mark whether they can overtake Liverpool and Manchester City to win over Real Madrid in Leg 1?
The opponent Chelsea will face is Real Madrid, it will be very difficult in my opinion.

Liverpool managed to win with a convincing score, so their chances of qualifying for the next round are very large, because in the 2nd leg they only need a draw or defeat with a margin of 1 goal.

on the other hand Man City narrowly won over Atletico, Kevin De Bruyne's goal being the only goal in this match. In this 1st leg, Atletico really played defensively, even during the match they never did Shots on Target or Shots off Target once, this is a very bad statistic.
I think there is no hope for Atletico to beat Man City in the 2nd leg if they still apply the same strategy.

In the rivalry between Villarreal and Bayern Munich, the German champion is a clear favorite for promotion. If Villarreal dreams of a promotion, they must try to achieve a good result at home. It will be extremely difficult for them, however, because Bayern is a team at least a class better. I bet that today there will be no surprise and the guests will be happy with the victory.

Bayern Munich should be the winners against Villarreal because Bayern Munich is a team that can defeat top teams by a big goal difference and Villarreal is not a strong team compared to  Bayern Munich. The only hope that Villarreal has is that the first match is a home match for them and they really need to get at least two or three goals lead in that match so that they can defend that lead in the second leg. otherwise, it's going to be a walk in the park for Bayern Munich.

I don't think Villarreal has any chance against a team like Bayern Munich. First of all Bayern Munich is a very experienced team. They know exactly how to perform on the Champions League platform. Secondly, Villareal is not in good form. Villarreal has lost their last two matches in La Liga. They have lost badly to weak opponents like Levante and Cadiz. And so I don't think there's any chance of Villarreal winning against Bayern Munich.

I liked the Atletico Madrid game. Of course Manchester City looked much better. But the whole game was built on Kevin de Bruyne. Atletico played very well with Antoine Griezmann, and I don't understand why Simeone decided to replace him and two other players right at the end of the second half. I think Griezmann could well have scored! Let's see what happens in the return match. Judging by the game, Atletico could try to pull out a win!
The first game of 2 with a must-win for Manchester City, even if only 1 goal was scored. At the beginning it looked as if no goal would be scored. I like the two players Grealish and Foden, but they only came on in the 68th minute. What if they had played before that? In the 70th minute the goal was scored directly afterwards. With a little bit more luck they would have scored a second goal, but okay. Atletico are very strong at home and i am sure they will score 1 goal.

This is still a good result for ATM, 1-0 is not a bad score for ATM. A win is better and definitely good for man city but the tie remains open at 1-0.
As a team coach when your team is playing a better side, it is important you remain compact for as long as possible and ensure you are still within touching distance of the Better team even up to the last few minutes. If ATM are able to take just 1-0 into the second leg, it’s a good result. It’s not a guarantee that they’ll win the second leg but it certainly means that they have a shot at it.

Atletico Madrid failed to register a single shot throughout the game, let alone on them being on target. Atletico Madrid never posed a threat to Manchester City. The duo of Antoine Griezmann and Joao Felix were not even allowed a sniff of the goal. Chances were hard to come by and whenever they came, they did not materialize.  Atletico Madrid were happy to sit back and defend. Their only approach was to absorb the pressure and attack on the counters which didn’t happen, and so they were very stubborn at the back and Manchester City needed something special to get past them and Kevin Debruyne made the difference.
1 goal for City I think is very good for the start before the 2nd round.
A 1-0 defeat keeps Atletico Madrid more than alive in the tie, which is nearly what Diego Simeone would have wanted beforehand, fewer goals. Manchester city should expect Atletico Madrid who did not register a single shot on goal to show more adventure during next Wednesday’s second leg in Atletico Madrid. Now Manchester City have an advantage to take to Madrid and will hope that Atletico Madrid will eventually come out to play and leave some room to attack. But Diego Simeone has a platform to approach the game in the same defensive manner for the majority of the second leg and hope to make the most of any opportunities on the counterattack or from set-pieces.

A hard win for city against atleteco with just one goal but it still enough for guardiola squad in my opinion, i don't think atleteco will cause so much problems for city in the second matche and they will score at least 1 goal because atleteco will not play defensively and tgey will try to score which will make the match more open and city players will find many spaces
