Liverpool have the away goal to their advantage too. Would be a good return leg at Anfield.
No way, there's no room for Liverpool to qualify even with their one goal scored at away, it wouldn't guarantee them of winning or qualifying at this stage, having said that, for the last previous seasons, Real Madrid hasn't been knocked out after winning with a good margin. Liverpool side would have had opportunity in their return leg is the match ended up with 2:1, I don't think Liverpool can score up to 2 nil without Madrid scoring a call at Anfield, it won't be possible.
Agree, all the ways Madrid will definitely do in the second leg later and it looks like it looks easy for Madrid to maintain the winning advantage in this first leg. I am 100% sure there will be no way for Liverpool and Dortmund to come back in the second leg even though they will play at home, a result like this is already a predictable result even though they put in a lot of effort I think it will only be a draw in the second leg.

How do I explain to my daughters that this goal was disallowed and the the scorer booked for being so smart and fast, guys brace yourself the beautiful game is gone. This was a critical moment for Dortmund at the early stage of the match. This was a pure daylight robbery, It was a beautiful game to watch, Dortmund got themselves a vital away goal.

Yeah that was a really weird scene. I mean the rules say, that the VAR should only intervene if the referee makes a clear mistake and even though it does not look like a foul from some perspectives it sure looks like one from others angles. So it probably is a 50/50 scene where a decision in either way is possible and therefore no clear mistake by the referee happened and the VAR did not intervene. It would have been interesting to see if the VAR would have intervened if the referee had not given a foul.

The yellow card is too hard for me though. I mean everything went down so fast and he definitely wanted to play the ball, but if the VAR takes the yellow card back but still says foul it would have created even more controversy.

it can be fault for the dangerous game "tackle straight leg" (idk the English term for it) but probably is not fault.
Ouep It was a fault and VAR has nothing to do with a free kick. The leg of Bellingham was high enough to break the leg of the goalkeeper if he kicked the ball. What he did was dangerous and deserves a yellow card. If he touched the ball from the downside then passed the goalkeeper without touching him then yeah ok it would be a correct goal but doing some kickboxing or karate stuff in soccer shouldn't be tolerated.

oha. that was a very close result today in manchester. i had actually expected a high win of 3-0 or 4-0.
but dortmund played well today and almost achieved a draw.but if dortmung shows a good game again in the
return match it is also possible to advance one round. dortmund is already enough for a 1-0 .
but i think Manchester will also score a goal in dortmund. and then dortmund has to score 3 goals to advance one round.
and that is damn difficult against Manchester.

Liverpool were really disappointing today. They ended 1st half with 0 shots on target. 2nd half was a bit better, but they weren't very dangerous. Yes, they scored away goal, what is big factor. 3:1 loss tonight means that they need 2:0 win at Anfield - difficult, but doesn't sounds impossible.
City 2:1 Borussia. I expected something more from City, but such score means that we will have very interesting 2nd leg. It even could have ended 1:1, but Foden scored late goal and let City to win.

Liverpool got tactically outplayed by Real Madrid in the first half; and by the second half, it was late. Klopp played a high line against Real Madrid; while Zidane with Modric and Kroos exposed liverpool highline to get a deserved win. The gap between both team is a little; Liverpool have the away goal to their advantage too. Would be a good return leg at Anfield.

I saw the first half Liverpool were more focused on defending, therefore from that the second half Liverpool's game improved because they decided
to attack after trailing 2-0. Finally Mohamed Salah managed to score a goal in the 51st minute, but unfortunately 14 minutes later Vinicius Junior
managed to add to Madrid's goal. It is true that with Salah's away goals, Liverpool only need to score 2 goals in the second leg. But the problem is
with the poor performance of the Liverpool defender I'm not sure Liverpool can prevent Madrid from scoring goals. So I predict that the one who will
qualify for the semi-finals is Real Madrid.

I am also a little disappointed with the game Manchester City have shown, Manchester City should be able to win easily with the quality of the players
they have. It turned out that the match almost ended in a draw if there was no goal from Phil Foden in the 90th minute. This makes it easier for Dortmund
by scoring goals away, Dortmund only need to win 1-0 in the second leg. But I still believe Manchester City will qualify for the semi-finals, because with
the quality of players that Manchester City have, they should be able to beat Dortmund in the second leg.

What a player De Bruyne in this game he was almost perfect no doubt he is worth 150m € procovid.
Solid game by Foden too, he has a bright way ahead.

Liverpool seems bad as Juventus this year, the fallen of 2 giants.

That was absolutely disgraceful and I don't know why VAR doesnt step it to right the wrongs. Why are there soo many tight ends that just throws common sense out of VAR. Just 1 look was needed to know what happened. At least a penalty should have been given if the goal happened after the whistle. Sad moments for the European football.
I've seen a lot of bad officiating but this one is worse so far this season, how could VAR ignore a situation like this, cases like this was the reason behind the introduction of VAR into football but yet they keep making the same mistake over and over again. There was no contact between the player and the goalkeeper it was a clean cut goal.

Yeah, I wasn't specifically surprised with Man City's win even though I expected a better victory margin, I was just surprised by Real Madrid complete dominance, I expected way more from Liverpool, but I'm not going to rule anyone out just yet. The away goal scored by both teams might be end up being the deciding factor during the 2nd leg fixtures.

Dortmund have been playing real good. Man united are trying not to concede a goal. I think both sides are really pushing and we might see a goal in the next 20 minutes

Not united bro, they are Manchester City  Grin more goals would suit this game. I'm expecting a goal from Dortmund. After this game, the rematch will be exciting. Dortmund showed that it is not an easy team.

Real Madrid brought the score to 3-1.

As you expected, dortmund managed to score 1 goal, but that was not enough. Immediately afterwards, m.city answered and they found the 2nd goal.

I can say we watched a nice game.

Real Madrid wins by three, but it has not qualified yet over Liverpool, who has not yet come out with the goal of Salah, the Real has surpassed Vinicius' speeds and the cohesion of his genius midfield and his reserve defense, who made an excellent match in front of the speeds of Salah, Mane and Jota .
Despite the reaction of the Lever with the beginning and end of the second half, but it seemed far from its normal, normal level in details of pressure, breakage, and velocities completely lost .

I guess you are watching a different game, mate. It should be Manchester City not United.  Grin  Anyway, Dortmund are trying to equalize the score but I can't say that they are playing very effectively. Haaland got a very nice chance but couldn't finish it as Ederson saved his shot. It was the clearest chance of them. City also found an absolute goal chance with Foden but he couldn't score it also. It looks like the match may end with this score, 1-0.
