Yesterday game between manchester city and Borussia Dortmund was as interesting as anticipated, breathtaking game filled with every features a game of that magnitude should posses. We saw some nice passes from the ever reliable kevin De bruyne not forgetting this action in match when Haaland muscles Ruben Dias before forcing a save from Ederson, Haaland got all the attributes required of a modern attacker Dias is one of the strongest defender in the premier league but he couldn't contain the enigmatic Haaland. I feel Ederson was lucky to go away from that incidence that saw him loose the ball to Jude Bellingham ,that was a 50-50 situation and luckily the decision went his way. The game ending at 2-1 implies there's still all to play for in the second leg at signal Iduna park so we can even expect a more interesting and fascinating game of football.

Bayern vs PSG
Porto vs Chelsea

I think PSG will take advantage of Bayern Munich injury list, it's going to be very interesting match to watch but I believe Bayarrn can't so it alone without Lewa and Gnabry upfront. Chelsea is in good shape right now and should win Porto easily

Manchester City was even lucky they managed to win the game. It would not be a strange story if Dortmund would have take the victory.
But a 2-1 defeat is still fine for Dortmund. 1-0 win is enough to advance to the next round.

I agree that it can be said that Manchester City's victory was lucky, because Phil Foden was only able to score the winning goal in the last minute.
I thought it was going to be a draw, but like you said Dortmund's defeat wasn't bad. Because there are still opportunities for Dortmund to qualify
for the semi-finals. Dortmund only needs to win the match with a score of 1-0, but the problem is Manchester City will definitely not let Dortmund
score another goal. It is still difficult to predict who will qualify for the next round.

^  It wasn’t luck.  It’s not like they didn’t try to win the match or they didn’t have enough fire power over BVB.  Anyway, the thing I got out from the match was I didn’t really know that Haaland looks so damn tall on the pitch.  It seemed like he was taller than the defenders.  Cheesy

@Harko @cryptofrka @LFC yeah, even at half time I was already just wondering what on earth we were going to do in the 2nd half. The Salah goal luckily was also some poor defence but we simply weren't sharp enough. I've not seen Gini play so badly in such a long time, Keita was disappointing, and they kept getting the ball stuck at their feet, control was so poor especially from vets like Thiago, honestly.

Kabak and Phillips won't want to look back, but Trent also reminds people why he's not a good defender. Of course I still back them, but they got a good old hiding from wily Real. It just wasn't our night. Not the grudge match I was hoping for but Anfield beckons, maybe?

About the match Porto vs Chelsea I have no doubt that Chelsea will win... Porto do not play several key players - Sergio Oliveira and Mehdi Taremi...
And the level of play between these clubs is completely different...

But about the victory of Bayern, I began to doubt... Grin

Real showed yesterday how easy it is to play through Phillips and Kabak (and Arnold as well).

I don't think the issue for Liverpool is the players. Obviously van Dijk is a big absence, but still, he's not the whole team.
Liverpool's big problem is confidence. They got into a bad place this season, and the confidence nose-dived. It doesn't matter who you pick for the team, when morale is that low.
The main thing that is beating Liverpool at the moment is their own collective mental state.

I think it is a mix of both i mean it's not only Van Dijk that is missing in the defense but also Joel Matip and Joe Gomez and to have 3 central Backs missing at the same time is quite a heavy blow, of course the absence of Van Dijk has the biggest impact as he probably is the worlds best central back at the moment.

How important confidence is was shown very clearly last year when bayern munich replaced Nico Kovac with Hansi Flick. All that the team needed at that moment was confidence and a new approach and Flick managed to win 6 Titles with basically the same team that was performing so badly at the end of Kovac's time.

Very disappointed but in reality, without VVD, Gomez & Henderson we were never going to win the CL were we?
City, Bayern or PSG would tear our defence to pieces with the current personnel we have out there. Kabak is young, talented but inexperienced. Phillips is a lower PL standard CB.
Its funny how your saying that and at the same time expressing your dismay and lack of faith in the Liverpool team. There is no way this team is surviving this phase of the UCL, there barely survived Real Madrid last night and they are yet to face other teams like defending champions Bayern Munich, Paris Saint German and Manchester City.

Well, the both fixtures yesterday came through for bettors. Those who played the goal options and regular wins. It wasn't so disappointing after all. I expected Liverpool to loose and also Manchester City to win and they did. I see Real Madrid to have what it takes to be in the finals this season.

Real showed yesterday how easy it is to play through Phillips and Kabak (and Arnold as well). It is clear to see how horrible Kabak and Phillips are even in games against weaker opposition, it's just that a team like Fulham (or even Arsenal) does not have a player that can hurt them from 60 yards. Real has Kroos, has enough quality in offense to draw them out of positions and to pass perfectly behind.

With Kabak and Phillips Liverpool can't even press properly so they were at the mercy of Real's quality. Real played a really good game, narrowed the pitch and played a better pressing game than Liverpool.

We are lucky we scored so the tie isn't completely over. Real is a huge favorite though, especially if the 2 all pain no brain stooges will be playing again.

Keita was terrible but he wasn’t the only one. I can’t believe the 1st half performance, totally embarrassing. I can accept being outplayed but we didn’t show any fight, determination, spirit, nothing in the 1st half. It’s a CL 1/4 final & we were playing like we didn’t care.

2nd half was better but still not good enough. If we score the first goal in the 2nd leg we have a chance but I don’t think we’ll do it. Shame but I expected to win nothing this season as soon as we lost VVD & Gomez.

Real Madrid vs Liverpool - 3-1 (aggregat 3-1)

What Trent Alexander-Arnold hell did?,  Grin he create a blunder, he shouldn't give back a ball to Allison. From what I look at, Liverpool had bad for the defense, Madrid midfielder looks attractive attacking fields. Toni Kroos who a person who has the best performance at this time he has good assists for madrid and Vinicius Junior take finish perfectly.
My guess was just a little wrong, Madrid conceded one goal. I'm happy that at least they still have 2 goals for the second leg. The second leg may be more difficult, but I hope Ramos and Varane can play. In the same way as it was in 2014, Madrid won 3-0 away to Anfield. Ronaldo, benzema became the star players at that time. Hopefully it will happen again, even though this week their schedule is busy, Zidane must be smart in making rotations of his players.

Arnold has a bad match and left many space for Vinicius who has a good match in contrast.
I don't know if Arnold wasn't ready for the match yesterday or he's an inexperienced player that's playing in the champion league competition for the first time, return leg will be more better if Liverpool concentrate more on their defense.
Madrid wins this next leg too I'm sure.
No, Real Madrid cannot win Liverpool in Anfield, Liverpool had to buckle up in their next leg and would be hard for Madrid to secure a win there. Surely Madrid will qualify during the return leg.
If real Madrid can't win Liverpool what happen yesterday, see it's not by club, it's Base on the players,  I missed Madrid match with Chelsea but it's confirmed that Madrid defeated Chelsea, the rate Madrid is playing currently i believe it will take them to better height.

Today I'll bet on a win for Bayern...
By the way PSG token went up by 50% in anticipation of today's game... Wink

I think this game will draw! Both teams are strong, and they will cancel each other.
But, I believe that there is the possibility of being a match with many goals, especially if someone scores too early.

We should not be too quick to write off Liverpool regardless of the goal margin already, we should all remind ourselves of how quickly most assumed in the 2019 champions League game against Barcelona where Liverpool went ahead to shock everyone in a stunning come back from a 3-0 deficit to win the game at Anfield (4-3).

This Liverpool side is still capable of pulling a come back and winning the 2nd game at Anfield on the 14th of April. The Liverpool coach has argued that he will be happy to welcome the Madrid side to Anfield which he claims is a better playing pitch.

I won some money from Real Madrid yesterday and I am happy for this. However I watched the match yesterday in Tv and it was because of amateur errors in defense that Liverpool is beaten 3-1.I think without the errors in defense it would have ended up 1-1 as the result.I think there is still a possibility to qualify but that is only if they don't screw up in defense like yesterday night.

Liverpool are missing some important players in defence, especially Virgil Van Dijk and this is seen in the results of the last few months.
Phillips was definitely a very bad player for Liverpool in defence yesterday.
Last season they had no problems with injured players and the results were excellent.
If the fans could go to the stadium, I think Liverpool would have a good chance of beating Real 2-0 after all and going through to the semi-finals but without the fans definitely Real have a much better chance for semi-finals.
I still remember their magnificent victory against Barcelona with a lot of support from the fans  Cheesy

Will there be a miracle at Anfield next week?  Grin
It's already tough scoring 2 goals against Real Madrid even at home and you also cannot expect them not to score. Liverpool will probably win in the second leg but only by one goal which is not enough to advance.
My doubt is whether Liverpool will be able to win the next match. Real Madrid won this match and won by a very good margin. Their main goal in the next match will be to draw the match. And Real Madrid's defense is much stronger than Liverpool's. If Ramos is not injured, it will be very difficult for Liverpool to win this match.

Agreed. it seems like Liverpool's gameplay has been discovered by enemies this season.
