I didn't even get to see the game yesterday, but as happens sometimes, the strongest team doesn't always win, perhaps due to overconfidence in their abilities! Lyon is a tough team and Juventus also paid the price so I was not surprised

Man City is out   They just have ruined me. I thougt it to be a sure bet but what the hell happened? I didn't watch the match as I was little sick last night. How come Lyon destroyed Man City, I wish it's a nightmare, man.

In fact, Vidal was a wrong sign for Barca.

My theory : he overthinks and tries to micromanage to extreme, which I think should not be done at the level he does, also his overload way of playing is creating to much congestion in the final 30 meters of the pitch and if a team has quality, discipline and knows how to defend you actually have harder time scoring then by playing more direct football.

Another important factor I think is his choice of players, he likes players that are too technical, good with combinations and puts less focus on strenght,power and clinical finishing in a player when it comes to attackers and forwards is general. You get a lot of chances that way and you create a lot chaos and that works great against normal teams in a league, but when you get to high end matches and you have teams that are equal or stronger you start to see problems.

So his selection is also a problem in my mind.

I mean Zlatan had to leave from Barca because he didn't fit his style, cmon... Also Mandzukic whom was doing great things for Bayern had to leave because of him too.

I know this is a tip of the iceberg, but I firmly believe this things I wrote are correct or very close to the core reasons why his teams and his style and approach to football has problems on the high end. You need to have perfect players and perfect chemistry for it to work and that is extremely hard to achieve when it comes to that style of playing football.

Perhaps the Premier League is not that good as many think. In my point of view, it is completely overrated. There is the most money of course and obviously the "best players" play there attracted by the money, but does it mean they play good as a team (except Liverpool of course )? The only English Team made it to the semi-finals in both European competitions this year is ManU.


He has not won the CL with Bayern Munich and ManCity in seven years, even though he had virtually unlimited financial possibilities. He has so far only succeeded in Barcelona because he knew the club and the mentality for a long time. Besides that, Barca was a well-rehearsed power at that time (even before Pep was coming). He may be a great person and an obsessive coach but he has not yet proved that he can achieve great international success with other teams than Barca.

The statistics of the match tells a own story. Losing the match 1 - 3 with having an overall ball possession of 67% (33% Lyon).

This is all I am gonna say about the Man City - Lyon match    Couldn't find the video that is downloadable so I can make a gif so had to improvise and make snaps, but this scene made me laugh hard

I was speechless to see Manchester City's very bad game, I agree Gabriel Jesus played badly, wasting a golden opportunity.
But Manchester City's defense does need to be improved, next season Pep Guardiola must buy a quality defender. The COVID-19
pandemic caused many surprises in the Champions League, especially with Lyon and RB Leipzig qualifying for the semifinals.
But for champions I believe Bayern can win the Champions League trophies.

Thank you Dembele, and thank you Sterling! One of the few people I guess to have put money on Lyon, I lost on Real to beat City, and lost on  Barca to beat Bayern, but it's all made up and much more with this absolute stunner of a result. Sorry I had to come here and boast a little.

This year's CL competition due to the rule change after coronavirus really brought a lot of surprising results.
Some smaller clubs seem to have done better in these conditions.

Even though I was happy after the score became 1-1, but after Lyon was able to score another goal to make the players decrease, I really regret it a little because the city can't defend it.

But on the other hand, Lyon's performance was able to maintain their victory until the end of the match even though the attacks continued to hit them but what had you lost, let's see the semifinals maybe what is waiting.

i am just happy with how all this finished today, it would be brave to play Lyon to qualify, but did not had the guts to do it
so far, so good, won Lyon with Juventus to qualify, this time on handicap, will see what to play with Bayern

Another surprise in this UCL. Another underdog went forward to the semifinal. Wasn't expecting this result for this match. That miss from Sterling was bad I would say. Don't know how he missed that on the open goal post. That super-sub no. 9 from Lyon just clicked as they want. Let's see can they defeat Bayern the most favorite team of Champions  League this year. For me the best player will be the Lyon Goal Keeper.
It can be all French final also there is a good chance for all-German final.

 BTW, Guardiola will now spend another 300million for the defenders lol.

Don't know if I should regret not watching the game or not but it is City 1 - 3 Lyon.. No joke! After yesterday failure of Barca now it is the turn of City!! City which destroyed many EPL teams after the restart with many goals!
Now Bayern will face Lyon in the semifinal and Leipzig will face PSG. Germany vs France semifinal!

Now we have two teams from Germany and two from France in Semi finals of Uefa Champions League and Manchester City today completely outclass by Lyon is really shocking for me as they done anther great performance after yesterday's Bayern what a end of this year for top ranked clubs with millions of USD investments.
