The Czechs and Swiss have managed to make a surprise so far, I never thought they could go through because the opponents they faced like the Netherlands and France looked on fire. By the way, I just smiled when Mbappe missed the last penalty but it shouldn't be a surprise anymore because in fact, Mbappe has only made one assist in this tournament without scoring at all. It's so funny when great players and squads lose on penalties.

The pressure is huge! Mbappe missed the penalty, but that happens, he is not a bad player because of that... but the news just pumps their headlines!
We had a crazy day yesterday, with a lot of goals in both games! In one moment I thought that Croatians can take the lead and surprise all of us! But what they didn't do, Swiss boys did it! Total surprise and win! Congrats to them, I really didn't expect this to happen!
I guess we can expect a crazy day today as well! Bookies are giving a slight advantage to England and Sweeden judging by the odds, but I don't think they will have a clear passage! It will be tricky, and for the teams and for us bettors!
Penalty shoot outs are always the risky, everything can happen. There is so much pressure in the moment, and the goal keeper decides beforehand where to jump, its just unlucky. Unfortunately France was my bet to win Euro 2020. I lost now 3 bets in a row, it seems very unlikely that I am going out of the tournament with a profit. England - Germany seems like a pretty close match tonight, I will better not bet on it. What are your favourites now to win the tournament, Italy? Spain?

Really an exciting day yesterday, two of the better games of the tournament so far. Both favorites losing 2 goal advantages, not something that we see really often.
Switzerland's victory is a major upset, I somehow felt Mbappe will miss the deciding penalty. He's not been himself throughout the whole tournament, he didn't score a single goal.
Today England - Germany on Wembley, another classic. The Euro is heating up!

Holy f for France.It happens again 15 years after their 2006 Final where their last player who kicked the penalty missed it.It happened again yesterday night to one of the best players of France if not the best of them,Mbappe.Congrats to Switzerland but what a bad luck to France.

My favorites team might have gone through to the quarter-finals of the Euro yet the valiant Swiss who battled their way back into the game and in the end deserved it more than France! It's anything but an epic game and Croatia vs Spain did not disappoint either! Kylian Mbappe knocked his country out with a missed penalty as he not in his real structure. So sad for him, this guy didn't even score a single goal in this competition. Switzerland knock out France. To be sure most engaging night in football.

With results of Round 16 so far, other candidates like Belgium, Italy, Germany, England and Spain will have great opportunity to win the title.
Germany and England will have to meet in Round 16.
Only 4 of them will be left in the quarter final and Belgium will meet Italy in the quarter final.
I suppose many people guessed that France will be the champion at a point that they have a brain freeze yesterday!Germany and England will have to meet in Round 16.

England - Germany today and everything is possible while Sweden seems favorite vs Ukraine although dunno if we should keep using that word (favorite)!
In the quarter final there will be more drama: Switzerland - Spain & Belgium - Italy & Czech - Denmark + the winners of today's matches. Guess there isn't any easy game here and everything is possible!

England vs Germany, I would choose Germany because England don't have good matches in Group stage. I know and the Round 16 matches so far show matches in group phases don't mean too much. However, it seems England have their internal problems and they are similar to France in the tournament. Internal problems prevent them to show their best power.
Germany have good and bad matches in group phase but at least they have good team working and it is important for knock-out phase.
What team to win between Italy and Belgium will have big opportunity to win this Euro.

Every champion needs bad shots (badbeats) to happen for situations to take place, he needs the help of others, does not need nor make a lot of noise, let Ronaldo be the leader in the scorers' table, or for Spain to score five goals , that France lose, etc.

Many of the tournament favorites have already made their exit. First to bid farewell was Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal, along with another tournament favorite Netherlands. Yesterday it was the turn of France. And today we have the match between England and Germany, which means that one of these two will fail to qualify for the quarter finals. And in the case of Netherlands, it was entirely due to their own fault. It was de Ligt's red card which turned the match situation upside down. Without that red card, they would have gone to the QF.
Netherlands and France very underestimated their opponents especially France. With their ability, France should control the match and don't give Switzerland any chance to come back. There is not a single part of the game in which Croatia can try and threaten (like for example dead balls), Spain is better in everything. It will literally take a miracle to go through today.
Sergio Ramos will do that in all kinds of ways to stoped him even though for a yellow card.France isn't Lucky, 80'+ minutes is a bad dream, they are careless in the last minutes. that make them back to home untimely. Switzerland which the underdog team was able to beat the dream team.

Switzerland have amazing return with two late goals to equalize. I believed they would collapse and give up after the goal from Pogba but they kept fighting so hard. Fair enough to say both two goalkeepers have a very impressive match.

Is this a real picture not an edit? I laughed seeing this.
As usual I'm happy with Spain's possession, especially they made 23 attempts I think they deserved to win. First I thought it would be 90 minutes because up to 75 minutes they won 3-1. But croatia did not give up they were able to make 2 goals in 15 minutes. Thrilling match lucky they were able to make 2 goals in overtime. The next opponent is Switzerland they just beat France which is the first seed in this year's Euro. It seems that many unseeded teams advance to the top eight.

Very surprising result, France turned out to have to accept the fact that they had to go home early after being beaten by Switzerland on penalties. Yet they are one of the leading teams. However, Switzerland turned out to make all French fans silent. This becomes very interesting, because many underdog teams qualify for the next round. while those who are predicted to win like Portugal, Netherlands, France have failed, just waiting for another two games, Germany vs England and Swedia vs Ukraine.
Quite an entertaining and exciting match nobody gave the Swiss team a chance of beating the French team even BBC soccer pundits predicted that star-studded France to win the match, kudos to the Swiss team who played like a team and much credit to Xhaka who gave the final pass that lead to their equalizer, and Pogba for scoring one of the goal of the tournament, while Mbappe penalty missing his penalty kick and also several attempts was very unlucky, unfortunately the world cup defending are out of the competition now going home having been tipped as one of the finalist
