Czechia can beat the Netherlands if they can take the Match evenly. Italy was almost eliminated by Austria last night. Two goals scored in extra time allowed Italy to advance to the next round. If Arnautovic's goal had not been cancelled, we would not have seen the favorites of Italy today.Czechia will try every way to win against the Netherlands.

Czech Republic was unimpressive in their group matches and you think that they will be able to beat one of the strongest teams in this competition? Czech Rep couldn't manage to finish among the top two in their group. They progressed to the knockout phase, because they were one of the best third placed sides. They lost their match against England and their only win came against a weak Croatia side. If they somehow manage to beat the Netherlands, then it will be one of the most shocking upsets in the history of Euro cup.

The Netherlands, which was convinced a lot in the group stage, faces a more difficult opponent this time.
The Czech Republic won, drew and lost with difficulty in its last match against the English..

Yes. The Netherlands is the clear favorite in this match after winning three of their games in Group C, which gave them an easy passage through the group stage. However, the Czech Republic is hoping to repeat their successful performance from the unforgettable EURO 2004 group stage match, when they stunned everyone by winning 3-2 after finding themselves 2-0 down against Netherlands.

My predictions both Netherlands and Belgium will qualify.
Both countries got perfect results in the group stage so it is quite natural that in this round they are also favoured over their opponents.
For Belgium it will definitely not be easy for them to step into the quarter-finals because Portugal as defending champions will fight till end for this match, Portugal still has the same chance as Belgium to win, interesting to watch till finish.

IDK, if you have a player like Chiesa with the talent he has why wait until extra time? why
not 10, 20 minutes into the second half when its clear Austria were imposing themselves
on the game?

....that way we would all have our bets realised.

Fair play to Austria indeed but they lacked that finishing touch in the final 1/4 of the pitch
for a lot of chances they had.

Italy was not up to the mark during their match against Austria, but that doesn't take away the fact that they were the best team during the group phase of this tournament. They scored a total of 7 goals in 3 matches and conceded none (the only other team not to concede any goal was England, but they themselves managed to score only 2 goals from their group matches). I would treat the last match as an outlier. For me, as the things stand, Italy is the team having maximum possibility to win this tournament.

Wales-Denmark is a match valid for the round of 16 of Euro 2020 and, like everyone knows, it'll be hosted today at 18:00 CET.
After the group phase, we can finally start with the more exciting knockout phase. Wales and Denmark are two teams that are certainly not among the favorites for the final victory, but that, at the same time, aren't new to surprising exploits in this competition.
Denmark has more quality but also more physicality than Wales, which can only count on a few good individuals and a good tactical organization. Kjaer and his teammates seem to be favored in a match with a total of less than three goals.
Awesome game that of Denmark, from an underdog stage to first 8! My bet was not successful but I witnessed a great match.
Today I'll watch France-Switzerland for the round of 16 of Euro 2020 which will be played tonight at the National Arena in Bucharest, Romania.
France, the number one favorite to win this European Championship, is now called to show its muscles. The knockout phase begins and the Blues of Didier Deschamps, reigning world champions, will have to get serious.  And another false step like the one against Hungary in the group stage could make a lot of noise. After all, with a squad overflowing with quality and talent, one cannot go unnoticed.
France's victory does not seem to be in question. Too wide a gap with the Swiss, who could close the match without scoring goals. Overall, however, the Blues will score at least two.

I like this Italy's team, I think Mancini is really making the most of it. Keeping Chiesa on the bench is a good strategy as well, he's most dangerous when playing against already tired defense. That goal yesterday was pure class.
I think Mancini masterclass won Italy the game, those changes were well-timed at the right moment of the game, they needed someone to cause troubles on the right flank and Chiesa was all thy needed to break the deadlock. Kudos to Austria they gave us an entertaining game I never expected such from them, they could've caused one if the worse upset last night of not for the cancelled goal.

Now I wish I were betting on outrights (as in qualification regardless of ET or penalty shootout). Have a feeling now we'll get more matches like Italy where everyone's too careful and we get draws then the class finishes off the weaker team in Extra Time or penalties. Favs should still go through I guess.

Portugal-Belgium is SO tough, you have stars in both. BTTS maybe?
snip

The match between belgium vs portugal will be an opportunity for Ronaldo and Lukaku to prove who is the sharpest striker this year, although currently Ronaldo is the temporary top scorer, but in my opinion, Lukaku has a chance to beat him and of course in today match, Lukaku should score as many goals as possible,

There is also Wijnaldum of The Netherlands on 3 goals too, so he is one to watch today.

Both teams have very important players. Belgium's golden generation continues. Strong contenders for the championship. On the other hand, Portugal has names such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes, Jota. I like the plays of all three football players. Especially those who watch Cristiano Ronaldo live will talk about this with pride in the coming years. Belgium v Portugal has no favorites.  I think Belgium is the closest team to a win.

it has just been announced that the croatian national player Ivan Perisic got covid-19 and will miss the 1/8 game against spain on monday ... all other players have tested negative
-snip-
That was a very bad news for Croatia, a key player will miss tomorrow's game vs Spain which was a tight match although odds are way better for the Spanish team.

The bookmakers estimate the odds of Belgium against Portugal as 2.35 x 3.25. A little unexpectedly, the chances of Belgium to win are significantly higher, I think that there are very equal chances. Belgium is an attacking team, while Portugal plays more on defense, it will be very interesting to see whose strategy will prevail. Perhaps we will see penalties after the match?
Belgium is considered the first team according to FIFA listing so yeah that's why odds for it are that way. Otherwise for Portugal fans, odds are interesting for their team Wink

Well I've already said that I will be watching Italy because it fells to be a greater game than Denmark and in the end it was because who anticipated ET in Italy ? Also my prediction was right regarding Italy will have clean sheet because only 90 minutes are counting in this records. But with Italy playing 30 minutes extra , it might count in the next games where they will face a much stronger opponent.

It's not going to be cakewalk for Belgium. For sure they are the no.1 ranked team (as per the FIFA rankings) and Portugal is not even in top 3 (they are behind Belgium, France and England). But I would rate Cristiano Ronaldo as the best forward playing in this edition of the Euro Cup. The advantage for Belgium is that they have a great defense (and the same can't be said about Portugal) and they are not over-dependent on any player. But if the match goes to penalty shootout, then I would say that Portugal will be having a better chance.

A really good performance from both teams yesterday evening, Italy played carefully while still dangerous and Austria showed that they are not pushovers.

Before the yesterdays matches most of the people in here guessed that the match between wales and Denmark would be the more exciting one because it will be a very close match and that Italy vs. Austria will be not that exciting because Italy is just way better than Austria and will totally dominate it. Surprisingly it was the complete opposite, Denmark totally destroyed Wales yesterday, which i did not expect, i thought wales would win and Italy had massive Problems with Austria.
Italy dominated the first half but if the goal of Arnautovic would have counted then it would have been very likely that Italy would have been eliminated yesterday. That just shows again that there are no guaranteed victories for any team anymore.

Portugal qualified as the third from the group of death with Ronaldo's goals and a remarkable brilliance for Renato Sanchez against .
Belgium, one of the candidates for the title with his tank Lukaku and De Bruyne in the midfield and the return Hazard will get them the upper hand on Portugal.
My predictions both Netherlands and Belgium will qualify.

I also think Belgium can easily beat Portugal today! Ronaldo can't play for the whole team against Belgium! In any case it will be an interesting match!
By the way, the odds for either team to win are very high... Bookmakers do not single out a clear favorite in this match...

Remembering EURO 2016 Then, where Portugal was only in 3rd position in the Group Standings, Portugal was always able to give unexpected surprises, maybe Portugal will show that surprise today.

I think the team plays for Eriksen.

Hmmm... Maybe Huh

Denmark beat Wales by a dominant game. They beat it with a sensational score of 4-0.  I think Denmark will have a hard time in the quarter-finals no matter who their opponent is. The health problem of Christian Eriksen seems to have positively affected the entire team. I think the team plays for Eriksen.

God, save BTC!
Belgium Vs Portugal :> My pick is Cristiano Ronaldo  Wink
I know pretty well that people who love Ronaldo will want Portugal to go through, but imo, I don't think Portugal stands a chance against this Belgium side today, I'm afraid the defending champions will be knocked out, except of course if an upset happens, Portugal haven't really been good in the tournament thus far, and I know it was in this same manner they became champions in the last Euro tournament, but I seriously doubt the same will be repeated. Belgium will win today and progress, I'm looking forward to seeing them in the final of the tournament depending though on the teams they meet en route.

I think yesterday we have seen a good and bad thing: the bad is that Austria did not win against Italy. They would have deserved it very much. It would have been interesting if the 1-0 had counted and how Italy would have reacted then.
The good thing is: Italy is not the over team as they believed after the group stage. The tournament is therefore completely open in my opinion. There is no clear favorite anymore, as all top teams have already shown their good and bad side in this tournament.
