Well I won't lie I was also shocked that England was able to manouver their way and actually win this game because I was totally vouching for the Netherland especially after that early first goal and the reason being is that england was really finding it difficult to find their way around the goal post. I just hope that they lucky winning streak won't fail them in the final game against Spain.
I put my eggs in one basket here, too. The basket being called the Netherlands. I thought they would dominate the game is pretty much all aspects. But just then England lived up to their potential and for the first time during the whole tournament showed a respectable performance. Actually, a very strong performance to be honest!
If they can manage to bring on that level again, I don't think Spain is such a huge favorite anymore. Still a bit of a favorite as they have the players who better understand how to control a game in hectic times, but England has the players and the overall intensity to hurt Spain for sure.
I think apart from England fans, everyone thought, No way England makes it past this Netherlands, not again right?
No way they manage a scrappy win?
But they did it, that too is a fashionable style. They somehow knew how to hold the unstoppable Gakpo, constant attacks from Xavi Simmons, and their tantalizing fullbacks. England surprisingly delivered a proper game in the semis, and it was amazing to see after such dead games from them.
No, Spain is still the favorites though, You know their wingers Nico and Lamine are in red hot form, and you can't deny their midfield power too, and a robust defense. They might shatter England and could win with a dominating performance.
