Agreed, am not taking side because I support Manchester United team but looking at them performance against the Spanish side Real Betis, the whole team came out in the second half of the game with so much determination to win and finally they got rewarded for a job well done as they trashed Real Betis four goals to one a winning record that they used to console themselves after suffering from a dramatic defeat from Liverpool in the English Premier League. Erik Ten hag will take the opportunity to add to his trophy with Manchester United since he has already won one trophy with Manchester United so far I think it will be a good thing for him and his men if they eventually get to the finals and win the trophy.
The UEFA Europa League competition is also a back up plan if it's getting tough in the Premier League to qualify for the Champions League. It looked great for them already, but now the fact of the matter is that they only won 2 games out of the last 5 games. Newcastle has one game less and can get pretty close to them and Liverpool hasn't given up just yet as well.
No matter what, but the goal for Manchester United must be to play in the Champions League in the coming season. Perhaps they are willing to sign one or two additional great players, but they want to play in the CL as well.
That's why this competition is a great way to preserve the chance to still make it if for some reason it doesn't work out in the PL.
Going up and down is normal, I don't see that being a problem for the Ten Hag. United are a strong team for this competition, they are one of the potential challengers for the Europa League trophy. as far as I'm aware, no official statement has been made by Ten Hag regarding his target with Manchester United. however, if the team is close to the title, then the opportunity will not be wasted by The Red Devils.
Referring to the second leg later, on paper United are still superior to win the match even though they are playing as an away team. Ten Hag will not allow his team to be dictated by his opponent, even though Betis is playing as the home team.
Speaking of Manchester United in the Premier League, Casemiro's absence in several of his matches was due to a red card. obviously, it will be a loss because Casemiro is one of the important players that Ten Hag has. Even so, I'm sure Ten Hag will be able to maximize his team to keep performing at their best. against Newcastle later, I remain optimistic that The Red Devils will be able to provide resistance even without Casemiro. so, United will still be ranked in the top 4 of its domestic league.
