To catch up, there is as much competition in the Champions League as there is in the European League. There are some well-known teams in the Champions League who consistently perform well in this tournament, but there is no way to say that any particular team will do well in the Europa League tournament. Liverpool had the potential to do well last season but they exited the tournament long before the end of the season, unlike a team that had not lost a match in the local league tournament and had not lost a match in the Europa League tournament other than the final, they were defeated in the final match. Manchester United are considered favorites this season but it may not be the last time we see a new team win the title this season.
Bigger teams in Europa usually end up doing not as well as expected, because they are not expecting that type of competition so they are usually caught off guard. Last year it was Liverpool who didn't expected Atalanta to do that well, and before that it was Barcelona who didn't expected Frankfurt to do that well. So, it's quite common to expect that we are dealing with something quite common in most cases, it is not really that weird if a great team ends up losing all together.
We cannot really consider that as something else, it's going to be a difficult situation if we ignore all of that. I think it's quite clear that we can't really consider this to be just a competition a big team will win, anyone could end up doing fine and win it. This season United and Tottenham looks great, but I can say that it will not be easy for them to win it, even if they do then they will have hard time against some teams, and they may end up losing it too, because they may face some difficult teams.
