There are very strong teams in the Champions League and there are serious differences between them and the weak teams. However, in the Europa League, even weak teams can beat strong teams. I don't see a clear favorite in the Europa League. Lazio is playing very well, Manchester United is in a slightly better position. Also, Ajax is a team I like. Galatasaray is playing very well. Maybe these teams can be favorites, of course, there is also Tottenham, before I forget.

The new format has some advantages and disadvantages in my opinion. As for the advantages, I think the best part is that the fans get to see some more exciting games before the knockout games and nobody has to wait until February to finally have some games between the best teams. But the issue is that luck plays a big role in the drawings. There are teams that have far easier games than others.

In the group stages in the past it was mostly the case that the best team had one tough opponent and then either one or two easier opponents. But now some of the teams despite having qualified in a good way for the Europa League, have almost only serious opponents, which makes it a bit uneven. It is the same in the Champions League.

Amorim has changed a lot in the team, i can see how he has implemented a different style of play and a more fancy one despite their low possession of the ball, and less attempts compared to when Ten Hag was the head coach. If not for anything, they should take the load off from the coach and digress on all the players, from 3 managers in a close period only Ruud was able to give an impressive outcome even with the little time he had. Manchester United players are the sort of their poor performance and the reason for them being in that position in every league.

The question now to the United fans is if there is any possibility of them winning the Europa or what position are they aiming to finish at the Premier League. With this low level performance they might end up not winning the Europa and not even playing in the Conference League. The burden is quickly placed on Amorim, he has to do what ever possible to keep the team at the best position he could have, atleast within the top 10 in the PL final spot.

The new format of both Champions League and the UEFA Europa League has given many teams chance to try their best to make it high in the respective tournaments, and so far, we have seen how effective the new group stage format is as so many big teams we are expecting to top the table are resting behind some small teams because these small teams used their chances well to make sure they accumulate some points.

Tottenham still remain my favorite team to win the UEFA Europa League this season because they are among the best teams in the competition so far, but if Manchester United get the expected improvement under Amorim, they can be considered among the favorites.
