Of course, silly records don't mean much. I only wanted them to reach it because they are the owner of another record as well - but a negative one.
Along with Deportivo la Coruna (2004-05 season) and Maccabi Haifa (2009-10 season), they are the only other team that was unable to score a goal in the knockouts. They didn't score one during the 2016-17 CL group stage in a group with Juventus, Sevilla and Lyon, finishing the competition with a 0-15 goal difference.

Since they already had the negative record, I thought it would have been nice to have a positive one as well. It would have shown the progress made since that 2016 season.

The both team ended up not qualifying at all.
But AZ Azkmaar on the other end is good club that plays fantastic games knowing already that they are out whether win or loss, so they were every vulnerable for Rijeka to win them.

Dinamo won 3:1 tonight so as you said very good day for Croatian football. Should help with our coefficients in the years to come as well. They will be a little sad since they conceded first goal in Europe this season but first place in the group will erase that quickly. They were the only team that did not concede a single goal in group stages of both CL and EL. CSKA and Feynoord were really disappointing in this group.

I'm just sorry that next season Croatia will not have representatives in the Europa league (Dinamo will start in CL).
At least, this season Dinamo and Rijeka had very good results.
I don't remember when we had such situation last time, that 2 clubs from Croatia won in the group stage on the same day.

This is really surprising and unexpected. Az Alkmaar played well throughout the match. But in the end, they could not win. I would say, the best player for HNK Rijeka in the match was their goalkeeper Nevistic.

Yea I expected them to win and still wonder how they lost this determination match vs a team that failed to get 3 points out of 5 previous games... Same for Roma. At the end it is Europa League, 2 random 2 bet Tongue

Arsenal play level is very good when compared to the teams in their group. Only Molde was the one that I thought had the potential of beating team but they defeated Molde in both matches. Good start with swiping teams in group stage but let's see if they can keep it in next stage as well or not.

@Chrystora123 if Arsenal end up facing Manchester United then they’ll be knocked out of this competition, but let’s hope that they don’t face them so soon maybe at a later stage in the tournament like the semi finals. Furthermore I would love to see Tottenham vs Manchester United in the finale, and to be honest I would support Mourinho to win it.

Or Lille or AZ Alkmaar. Both those teams gave the weakest team in their group their wins too, and yes maybe because of qualification metrics they did not have to be so strenous in their midweek efforts,,, but on the other hand Celtic have been so poor plus Rijeka was never even supposed to win.

Arsenal can win games but they seem to not understand English teams.

I did not like the last 10 miutes of napoli-real sociedad at all. After the draw (which Napoli could probably also avoid) and after knowing that Alkmaar was losing and therefore both would pass, they stopped playing. 5 minutes of recovery made only of fake backwards passes from Napoli, they could at least pretend to attack, so it's ridiculous

Arsenal performed well in their Europa games winning all the six matches with 100% record unfortunately could not transform their form in Europa to EPL, kudos to the new boy Folarin Balogun for scoring another goal in their match against Dundalk yesterday. I believed that result could trigger the resurgence of the gunner in EPL as the battle Burnsley this weekend.
Goals from Ünder and Barnes ensures a comfortable win for Leicester another EPL team in Europa who also top group G table and consequently qualified for the next 32 round.
Tottenham also lead their table with a defeat to Antwerp and moved to next group stages, EPL teams performed excellently in their Europa outings which is well remarkable and a good achievement.

Lol, this statement just make it seem like, Ac Milan were not out for the competitiveness of the game but a mare fulfilment of what I'd required by FIFA and it also portrays Sparta Prague like a weak team!!! I hate to see them that way. Though they lost, they had quite a game and I don't believe is due to AC Milan haven't reserved a couple of players.

Did you guys saw last minutes of Napoli - Real Sociedad? Both teams literally stopped playing because draw would let both teams into next round. Meanwhile, AZ surprisingly lost to underdog Rijeka and it cost them place in next round.
Dinamo Zagreb continue powerful performance, another easy win. It's only a bit pity that today they conceded 1st goal in group stage.
Quite big surprise is Wolfsberger win against Feyenoord. This result eliminated Feyenoord from competition.
Roma suffered big loss against CSKA Sofia, but it's meaningless game for both teams.
Bayer continue to destroy everything in their road. If they continue to play like now, I think it's possible to even win title for them, but still long road ahead.
