I don't follow the Nations League. I don't find it interesting and the teams don't even put in their all. It s just like a glorified friendly match that should just be a friendly. They just finished the Euros about a month or so ago, whats the point of another nations league again?
I did bet on Spain though and I lost my bet, more reason for me to be against the Nations League. 


Funny enough, Liechtenstein hasn't won a game since 2021. Their last win came in 2020 and guess who the win was against? Let's see if San Marino can build on that momentum and get a win from Gibraltar in their next nations league fixture.

Croatia without doubt is Portugal's biggest rivalry in the Nations League Group 1 but they were able to get  the all important three points against the Croatians to move to second position of the group. Portugal just like Poland are won their opening game of the competition but Poland are the top because of their superior goal difference. For Croatia, I think they can still bounce back in to the competition since they have more matches to play against weaker opponents. Without doubt, Portugal is the favorites to make it to the next round of Nations League from their group.

When I saw the result I was like oh they won a game? because I didn't see them winning any time. Once I saw their opponent was Liechtenstein I understand how they managed to win the game. But honestly I didn't expect this match to be their first victory ever!

Scotland were close to get a point from that match but they lost that opportunity at the very end of the game unfortunately.

Spain would have also lost today if Serbia used the chances they were able to create. Spain were very poor, they left a lot of spaces behind while trying to put pressure on the Serbian Back-line, and Serbia were ready to counter attack. Spain had all the possession in the game but Serbia had the better opportunity to win the game, so the reason why I think they will look back at the results from this game and regret because they should have gotten all points needed, and make a record beating the European Champions who looked very poor in their performance today.

San Marino won an official match for the first time in its history. San Marino beat Liechtenstein 1-0 tonight.
This win is a huge win for the guys because they have never experienced this feeling before. They celebrated as if they were champions.

Portugal won their first match in the group by beating their strong opponent Croatia 2-1.
Poland won the match 3-2 with a goal scored in the last minutes.

Cristiano Ronaldo is a true definition of a legend. He is always doing the right thing at the right time and his age is not more a restriction towards achieving another milestone by him. He always like creating records despite knowing that he is old, but he wanted to keep accumulating more records in goal scoring and contributions to his country.

He has led the team to win some trophies and he is one of the oldest player in the Portuguese squad and he will keep playing until he is able to play in the next coming World Cup.

Both of their games looks very matured both Portugal and Croatia and a lot of pressure have been coming from Portugal than it is coming from Croatia and its been long i watched Rolando play since all attention are always on the primer league and champions league then the la liga and watching him play in tonight game just makes everything more interesting to watch because Ronaldo will always be Ronaldo, always very confidence as usual and just seven minutes of the game their was already a goal and ronaldo also scored the second goal with other attempts that were coming from him. and Croatia are also doing everything possible to equalize, the defense of Portugal is quite very impressive and making it hard for Croatia to actual penetrate their goal post.

Croatia games look different compare to what they have been playing years back and even when Portugal is playing them they are still trying to play cool, they aint panicking at all and if Portugal is not careful they might equalize and to me it will be a slap on the face of Portugal because they have been playing 2 zero when diago scored an own goal if not Croatia would not have been able to score any goal,  and portugal have a good resources and they have changed ronaldo and i love the fact that his the one leading the squad others are still given the chance to also play and ronaldo have actually have  a good time in his career as a footballer and even if he does not play football again his still have given him self that satisfaction.

That man Ronaldo has already set some records that the young stars will have to play for so long to equal as he celebrated his 900th career goals in grand style tonight against Crotia. I think Ronaldo has now understood football so well that he finds it very easy to keep the past results aside and focus on the present games, you could see him talk about the European Championship after his country was eliminated by France but he was encouraged and motivated to focus on the next competition which is why his team is doing so well in this game tonight.

With the kind of strength he has shown in the national team I doubt it he's hanging his boot soon so he could become the oldest active player in the history of football because that guy is not aging at all he still has the strength to play till full-time of every game, hoping to see him win a trophy for his country again before retiring from the national team.

I think this man will break records, such as the oldest player to play in the national team and score a goal, and leave the goal of a record that will be difficult to break to the football player who will come after him.
The European Championship has passed, the man is still playing in the national team and scoring goals.
Even though the European Championship was bad for him, he still did not say that the national team was over for me. If he continues like this, he will play until he is 45. Unless he experiences negativities such as injury problems.
The man is a true living example and a very good professional.
I will congratulate him and continue to watch carefully.

The game is going as expected Portugal are currently leading with 2-1, Portugal are also dominating the entire game and all the three goals have been scored by two people in the same country, Cristiano Ronaldo recorded his 900th goals of his career both the club and the country make him the highest goals scorer of all time that have all his goals on record, and he is look forward to make it 1000 goals which I believe he is capable of achieving that aim because of this consistency in scoring goals, Cristiano have prove to become the only player in the history of football to reach 900th career goals, here is the break down of his goals, Real Madrid- 450, Man Utd - 145, Juventus - 101, Sporting - 5, Al-Nassr- 68, Portugal- 131

Oh yeah, my country? I would bet against their asses if I had to ... Mind you, that doesn't mean I don't respect my wonderful country, but I just tend to careless when it comes to letting out my cash on something that's most probably gonna be a failure, depending on what competition and who they're competing with.
Already, Portugal is leading with 2:1 and this is already the wrap up of the first half. . let's hold on and see what miracles Croatians can perform in the next half.

I admire Croatia a lot but it's noticeable that they're going through a generational change and it's a job that needs to be done and renewed, not easy for the coach
I prefer to say it like that rather than saying that the golden generation is over hehehe, every national team has to go through this process

Portugal could soon enter this phase, but I see the team with the best resources to continue with a very competitive squad, specially with Rafael Leão, Gonçalo Ramos and João Félix

The game will be very tough, but everyone will give Portugal the best chance of winning because they have more superior players than Croatia, especially now that CR7 has started the game. You will undoubtedly know that they will not play with a goal because Ronaldo is a goal machine. He does not toy with the net; whenever he has the opportunity, he scores. Let's see how the match ends, but I predict Portugal to win. I don't think Croatia can stop Portugal from winning. But anything can happen on the pitch. Modric is already performing weakly, and I don't think he'll do as well as he used to anymore and Portugal striker are very good i don't see what will make Portugal should not win the match tonight. i think this match is a winning game for Portugal. There information is very nice i think is just a defend game Croatia will just play against Portugal today let see how the game will end tonight.

The Turkish National Team will play away against Wales tomorrow. Even though Türkiye seems like the favorite on paper, Wales is a very difficult away game.

I am still confused why that is the case. Is it because it is a home game for Portugal? Let's assume for a second that this was a game at a European Championship, nobody would say that Portugal is a huge favorite, but indeed the bookmakers give Croatia closer to a 6-0 whereas Portugal is around a 1.50. What am I missing here? Wouldn't this usually be closer to a 2.0 for Portugal and maybe 3.5 for Croatia?

I saw a couple of guys saying that Portugal is a huge favorite and I instantly checked the odds and saw that the bookmakers see it the same way, but I can't exactly figure out why that is the case.

Anyone has a good answer here? I would never think that Croatia is worse than a 4.0 here.

Portugal against Croatia tonight is going to be a game many would expect to see a one sided game, that's the Portugal team making it hard for the visitors with goals and unexpected runs from the wingers, since we have a Portugal side that seems to be the favorite. I won't really say Portugal are going to give a better performance since CR7 is definitely going to start the game, from some of the games he started that spark of brilliance is missing in the team, like they're not that sharp and their final passes and goal decision making is never complete. Is like a commander is stopping the other players  from playing what they know but to play to his (CR7) tune. Anyway, I think the Croatia side won't let the game be all about the home team, they're going to get a goal and try to defend it, but for how long, only time would tell. If I'm to go for any tip, a both team score is certain.

 I don't understand why Sweden will always find it hard to get results whenever they meet smaller teams because I don't see why they should be waiting till the second half to be getting goals. Granted they are two goals up but it's as if they needed a prodding before they'd act. Had it been the Azerbaijan player, Sheydayev hadn't missed his penalty, that means they wouldn't have woken up? I expected better from the team and with the likes of Isak, Kukusevski and the rest, this game should be an easy one.
 

well, I would rather say it's the end of an era for Croatia and they should start thinking about building a new team that can be as formidable as the team that played in the World Cup finals in 2018 in Russia, though they might not be that lucky to get to level up entirely but they really need to have some changes in their dressing room because the likes of Luka Modric are almost worn-out and may soon retire. For tonight's game, I think Portugal are going to beat the Croatians because it's obvious the Portuguese have a better squad and are more coordinated team than the Croatians and besides the Portuguese have won this tournament before and would be playing with more confidence tonight than the Croatians.

Portugal's win over Croatia only has an impact on the head to head statistics because I don't think the UEFA Nations League is a competition that is too focused on by teams like Portugal and other teams. I think that this competition is only used to maintain the compactness of the squad formed by Roberto Martinez as Portugal coach and Zlatko Dalic as Croatia coach.

Martinez and Dalic of course think about the future of their respective squads. Maybe if they want to be compared to England and Spain, for each of Martinez and Dalic they have their own patterns because it's not good to be someone else.

As long as Croatia play seriously, they can definitely overcome Portugal's resistance.

Honestly, don't fell very excited about Nations League tournament. Importance of this tournament is just a bit more important than friendly games. But still going to watch. Probably biggest game of 1st matchday is San Marino - Liechtenstein. You won't see such powerhouses playing each other often. But seriously, it's good chance for these small teams to get rare wins and give some joy for their fans. I put over 1.5 goals bet on this game.
