Beginning May 7, 2019, all the affected gaming operators should not allow any player to make deposits and play betting games without completing the process of verifying his/her name, age, and address. With this, the three-day grace period given before to new players signing up no longer applies.

The laying down of this stricter rule is part of the commission’s goal to get children out of the gambling sphere. In a report by UKGC, it was found out that the number of children with gambling-linked issues quadrupled in the past two years. Now, there are more or less 55,000 children aged 11 to 16 recorded with compulsive gambling issues.

All online casinos licensed by the UKGC implement the KYC rule, now even stricter. Any thoughts on the changes made by the commission to the age & identity verification process?
It would be a huge help for the parent of those young gamblers.
But for us it would be hard to do it since as we have seen even the one of the greatest and most trusted trading has been hacked.
So it is hard to trust them with our personal information and this could make them lose some customer.

This would just move more casinos to offshore and towards cryptocurrency. Already many of the British casinos have moved themselves to offshore British overseas territory or countries with more considerate  laws like malta and panama.

One of the reasons why gamblers like playing on gambli g sites which doesn't rrquire KYC is the age restriction. I know a lot of minor who plays online gambling in our country, tho it is also prohibited in our country, it's actually easy for them to access and gamble due to this.

We might not agree with KYC procedure, however, this might help peole who are not of legal age not to learn and be addicted in gambling at a very young age.

Gambling can become a problem for minors just like drugs or alcohol abuse and a proper KYC needs to be implemented to determine that the users of these casinos are not miners. The stats that highlight that children with gambling related problems quadrupled in the last couple of years makes them obliged to implement a stricter KYC procedure.
