This donation doesn't accept Bitcoin only, ETH and USDT are acceptable here. So, not only Bitcoin, ETH and USDT are also important in the world. Even other coins are also important although they are not used in this donation program. I agree that cryptocurrencies are very important to use for donation, people can donate with their crypto coins with a low fee in transferring them and they can monitor the number of the coins on the wallet donation easily. It is very different from the donation in fiats, people are difficult to monitor it.

By the way, safe or not depends on the individual. If we are careful enough to do analysis and cross-check before sending crypto coins, I am sure this way is secure or safe enough to do.

Of course they don't only accept bitcoin, so this is a very important thing for all cryptocurrencies. What I want to say here is how much bitcoin has developed in recent years, of course, other altcoins are developing along with bitcoin. We don't even need to talk much about the popularity of bitcoin right now, everyone knows it now Smiley

Nearly 7000 transfers have been made so far, more than 150 bitcoins have been donated. More money could have been raised, it would still help Ukraine Smiley

For me this is all planned out and is part of the plan to help booster the adoption of Bitcoin and the Cryptocurrency space and is good for Bitcoin and the Cryptocurrency market at large.
Secondly, seem the Ukraine invasion it a strategy for Russia to shift away from their dependency on the Petro dollar Era like China did . All these are just fight for Economic power.

Verified Twitter account doing fundraising that accepts Bitcoin/ETH/USDT. And now the fundraiser has raised more than
14.06615968 BTC at the address 357a3So9CbsNfBBgFYACGvxxS6tMaDoa1P
As CZ said in his recent tweet that is where cryptocurrencies shine for humanity. Bitcoin crosses borders with nothing to prevent it.

However, there is something different about Vitalik, such as preventing people from donating as he tweeted. Because there are 2 verified accounts for fundraising. In your opinion, has anyone played the odds in trouble? when Ukraine asks for help but what I'm worried about is a second party trying to profit from it.

The point is Bitcoin has an alternative way that can make it easier for people out there to provide assistance without the need for us to have to go through the queuing process that is held in our country, not to mention that discounts always happen. But with Bitcoin, we P2P directly send it.

Give your opinion on how this situation can make it even more difficult to determine which donations actually reach the Ukrainian people in the right way? while a verified account is always used as a reference, but other than that it will also backfire if you are not careful.

This stands the path way to blockchain revolution.  In the midst of the chaos non else could be  available to deliver but blockchain and bitcoin was the option. What else could have done it better than blockchain? All identities of donors unknown, seamless and fast transfer, less charges  no third party.

I advise all people who are willing to give to check that the above address, or any other address, effectively belongs to the Ukrainian government.

My apologies to the OP, but I'm suspicious by nature.

I agree, after all, Ukraine is a sovereign country, it feels a bit strange to ask for financial assistance from civilians from other countries. But for anyone ready to lose some for Ukraine I'm not forbidding, just be careful.

I think it's okay to be vigilant with that, but it has been verified that it is their wallet. With that aside, I'm just wondering how they would be using this? I do hope that the people or the ones providing the necessary resources for them to survive to accept BTC so that they wouldn't need to convert it into fiat or something like that.

Any news about it?

I doubt If we can fetch any news regarding this matter.
Those who provide them the necessary resources to survive is probably those who also accept Bitcoin, especially now that It might be hard for them to convert into fiat currency because of the devastation the Russian brings to their city. Or maybe someone from the outside/NGO's will be providing them with a payment in a form of fiat and then these people will be the one to handle the crypto from the charity.

If I'm not mistaken , one of CHipmixer campaign participants Share his weekly payment to Ukranian Bitcoin address as a donation for their fight against russia.

So i think this is a legit wallet address?

That isn't what should make it legit - people can make mistakes. You should look at the evidence for yourself. I'm surprised OP didn't link Ukraine's tweet, but if you find the tweet and take a look at the replies, you'll see tweets from notable people in the crypto community such as Vitalik Buterin or Justin Sun vouch for it. While we have no idea how funds will be used, and if they will be used for purposes people are expecting, it would be reasonable to assume that the funds are going to Ukraine.

Glad to hear that, I know how the Ukrainian president at that time had asked for help from NATO countries but all were silent and could not do anything about it. When NATO countries are in crisis facing each other, of course Ukraine cannot hope for more. Fundraising through Bitcoin is the right choice. Moreover, it proves how nothing can prevent the flow of funds from being sent and anonymity is maintained. Even if other countries fear being caught meddling in Ukraine, they can choose Bitcoin as a payment alternative. President Putin has threatened other countries not to try to interfere in Ukrainian affairs. But there is an anonymous alternative that can be used via Bitcoin. The idea carried out by the Ukrainian Minister is quite good.
Yes, in the early days of large-scale aggression from Russia, it was difficult for Ukraine, because the Russians thrust columns of armored vehicles from three sides. But when Europe saw that the Ukrainians gave a good rebuff to the enemy and were able to defend themselves, including Europe, from Putin's aggression, on the second or third day they began to give Ukraine the necessary defense weapons. Among other things, Germany changed its attitude on this issue, which, before the open invasion, agreed to transfer only 5,000 helmets to Ukraine. Now we are getting anti-tank weapons and ammunition in sufficient quantities to destroy Russian armored vehicles and defeat Russia in this war.

(....)
I already started to see some scammers popping everywhere, especially on social media, that are taking advantage of the good act of the Ukrainian government. There are already scammers who are being impostors and creating fake identities just to pretend they are connected with this Ukraine crypto currencies donations.
People must be aware of this, scammers are everywhere even how awful the situations right now.

You're right, suspicion must remain. Because after all this is a very large number. It will be very worrying that the unexpected will actually backfire for Ukraine. Therefore, there are 2 perspectives that I include. The first is donations that can help our brothers in Ukraine, but the second point is that other parties are actually abusing Bitcoin.

But there is one that can treat me right now as per confirmation from this tweet https://twitter.com/TomicahTD/status/1497601610775769094 and confirmation by this https://twitter.com/olex_scherba/status/1497613520543883268

The rest I still have a question mark whether it will arrive or not. Still worrying will be on my mind.

OK, it's legit.

I was dubious at first because of the screenshots. Direct links to respected URLs are way better.

It's nice that this way of fundraising is being done, it shows how important bitcoin is in our world. But it is also possible to say that it is not very safe.

Just a reminder that before you send donation, just verify the authenticity of the address. There are so many scammers today that may possibly pose the official account of the government or official. They are good at faking their identities. I even received email asking for donations on this ongoing war. So how can they got a hold of those emails? I don't think the Ukranian government itself will send email asking for donations. But right now, the easier way to send money to them is via crypto. Now, it is the government who will just convert it to their fiat at the right time. Let's hope Putin will stop this madness very soon.
What happens to you can be an obvious scam especially if the mail that you got is tagged as spam. Mail spammers can get your email online or on one of the sites that you used. For you to be sure you can also compare the crypto address that you received in your email to the crypto address that is shown in the tweet. That practice must be done before we send any crypto so that we are sure that the money can go in the right hands.

There are hacks before in Twitter where celebrity accounts posted some message about crypto-doubler but those are an obvious scam and very different from the tweet that we saw in the screenshot. I have a confidence on this one.

BTCitcoin is a great tool to send donations in volatile situations like these but what i have heard is that people are not able to withdraw funds from banks nor from ATM and i am curious how these funds will be used for the benefit of the citizens. I am happy to donate but how these funds will be used should be transparent and glad to see that they are able to raise huge funds in a short period and if they start accepting cryptocurrency for everyday use then it would be great.

Well, with these donations we are essentially financing the Ukrainian government so that they may dispose of the funds as they see fit. They might use these funds to transfer refugees to Western countries and away from the civil war zone. They might use these funds to acquire more weapons to defend themselves. Or they might simply use them for a "more pressing" cause as their government sees fit. Would that make any difference?

Since Ukraine's government requested cryptocurrency donations on its Twitter account, the country has raised more than $17 million in cryptocurrency donations. Several media outlets have reported that government has authorized the crypto wallet, and the crypto community has responded in a big way. We are concerned that government wallets will not disappear along with their holder. It would unbelievable if people could fall for this type of trick. Whatever the case, we stand with humanity.

It's nice that this way of fundraising is being done, it shows how important bitcoin is in our world. But it is also possible to say that it is not very safe. We do not know where the donated money will go or who will have access to it. Although it is reliable because it is the official account of Ukraine, we can see many scams in this way. If the twitter account is hacked, many people can send money to a different address, which is quite risky

Ukraine has brought a new traction to the crypto world where there will probably be a few other countries that will start doing the same to try to accept donations from the crypto community. This will be a new trend that will attract the attention of scammers in both the short and long term. But the good thing is that Ukraine has earned a sizeable donation from every crypto user who pays attention.

But the Ukrainian government must use the money donated to aid humanity and they must be transparent enough in using it so that it is not considered war aid by Russia. I didn't expect this to be something that a few people would spread and become world political propaganda because this is just a charitable donation to humanity in a war zone.

To erase whatever doubt people may have who are willing to help, I think the officials or some legal bodies should have publicly announced this information and made it known to everyone the official wallet that was authorized for the donation. That would have made it easier from the start but seeing that big names like CZ Binance and Justin Sun already made donations to the same wallet (from what I read above)  I guess we can conclude it is authentic.

They have already done so. Ukraine's official Twitter account, as well as the account of Vice Premier Mykhailo Fedorov, announced the crypto wallet details on Saturday. According to many media outlets, including bloomberg.com, it has been confirmed that the tweets and wallet addresses were legit.
