hey guys. so i was thinking about learning how to mine.
figure out i could start with this coin.

Not going to rent any miners. as i see you gusy are recommending here. Just need to learn how to do it first.

So i tried the easy solution from onnz423 here. But it does not work.

He writes: then edit the bat file and replace "address" with your unify address
so i did. it looks like this now.

minerd.exe -a scrypt -o stratum+tcp://212.24.104.24:3008 -O address:UfbgcwPDAuWeG6txcb7fZLcZZQBnF4VrF2

and the error i get is. Stratum authentication failed

i also tried to logg into a mining pool and made a worker.
My config looks like this:
minerd --url=stratum+tcp://unify.acc-pool.pw:4211 --userpass=test:test

and i also get the Stratum authentication failed.

Anyone have time to help me out. il send you some unf. if i ever get it work Smiley

Have you tried ccminer?

Reading from previous conversation above, seems like mining is something that are not recommended for anyone who never has an expreienced about mining. Since it contained dangers.

Not recommended because usual PC's are slow and usually it would require an account at miningrigrentals.com to get a more significant amount of UNF.

If you still want to try mining with your PC, here's a tutorial provided by user onnz423:

Many users have been asking how to mine, so if you wish to use your CPU for mining, i made a ready package with a bat script so the mining is ready go.

The bat script uses my pool as default, the port with 512 diff but if you need a lower diff port, let me know and i'll reduce it.

You can download the zip on mega.

Your anti-virus might get a false detection of the miner, so expect that. You extract the folder from the zip into your desktop or whatever, then edit the bat file and replace "address" with your unify address, it is easy as that. Hope that this was helpful.

Edit: just be aware that this should be just for testing mainly, cpu mining and gpu mining on scrypt is not very efficient so if you want to mine this coin, i recommend renting an asic or buying one.
With this one I could also tried to learned about mining. Fo now i still don't have any idea on how it works.

@SBDomains you  rented  a rig, right?
Can you tell us how much you paid, for how much time and how much Unify/ day would you get according to the pool?

It's very hard to say what the mh/s:coins/day ratio is, with new miners joining and the difficulty fluctuating pretty frequently.

So there is a possibility to mine using a laptop, but unfortunately its not recommended right?

There is a possiblity yes, but it is not really worth it because of the ASIC's and as well as the power consumption that the CPU/GPU miners use compared to ASIC's.
If you are inexperienced, you might end up frying your laptop which of course is not really the thing that you wish to do.
You can always rent a rig if you wish to mine this crypto Smiley

Yes, this is absolutely correct, I remember I tried to mine with my old PC and it's graphics card broke.

Mining pool #1 seems to be back online now.

NVIDIA Geforce

Yeah but what is the exact model? Some newer versions of NVIDIA GPU's are different alot from the older ones and some newer ccminer versioms do not support the older ones so that is the reason why i need exact model of your GPU.
Sorry interrupting, will it possible to mine using a laptop that using AMD
If it possible, will it make my laptop suffer of anything(bad thing i mean)?

It is possible, however it wilm probably overheat it alot, so generally mining on laptops is a bad idea since they are not meant to be on 100% load.

Its NVIDIA Geforce GT 520M ... Older one I believe .... I would like to mine this coin on my Laptop via GPU while working ....

I might recommend adding this to your mining command:
Code:
-i 14
This will cut a lot of the stress down from your graphics card; leaving it running (my guess) at about %50 power.
I think if you did this your laptop shouldn't run into any issues/you shouldn't even notice anythings being mined.

Can u use minerd for GPU mining ?? If yes what will be the command ?? Right now I am using it for CPU mining

I think a smarter choice for you would be to rent a mining rig on miningrigrentals.com or to become active on our bounty campaigns, I personally have GTX 660 and it's not worth mining with GPU of your PC (in your case it's laptop, which usually has even slower rates and also older model

How many unf coins per MHS/hour ?? Any idea... Before I invest in mining rentals

Biggest pool (pool #1) is currently down, but it was in this case before and quickly got back to normal - hopefully this time is the same.

Other pools seem to be working fine.

How to mine using GPU ??

Do you have an AMD or Nvidia GPU? Please tell me the exact model and i might be able to assist you.
I personally have a NVIDIA GPU so it would be the best option if you had a one too, so i would be able to help you with my best ability.
Since AMD and NVIDIA GPU's use different mining software.
