Re UNO Testnet/PR - worst that happens is that it gets reset in a future wallet, and you can no longer access your Testnet3/PR through the UNO wallet.

You'd use the PR client instead.   If he ever needs a Uno testnet because he can't work on PR, BW will create a genesis block for a new testnet and compile a new client. Testnet3/PR has long run off down the road as its own thing. It won't simply evaporate by resetting it, because there is a network and nodes that have arrived at consensus... they won't just immediately wipe out the entire blockchain and sync to block 1 of testnet4.  You'd have to take down the entire network (which admittedly, might not be too difficult).

Anyway... its not a big deal to me. Its just another piece of UNO's interesting history.

I hope someone is writing all these adventures down. I'd be the first to buy the book, "The Unabridged History of Unobtanium." Chapter 26:  Prototanium.

BUT that $45k of uno sitting on a wallet controlled by a $400/hr lawyer
yeah if your name is not Vern, and you can verify that, then if he grasps the ropes of sending to an address (or his interns/paralegals do) ... that might be recoverable ... but my guess is that was/is Verns ... so likely auction UN 2018 or such.

**no one in CAMP UNO was fool enough to let that amount ride in Craptsy towards the end, and i find it a bit odd that UNO was withdraw-able during the fiasco but as soon Vern publicly said he got hacked then UNO wallets were never opened back up, all the other coins reopened for withdraws, less those that were not before (btc, ltc, doge, ripple).

in  sAllah we trust?
It always made me wonder why Vern didn't steal the UNO along with the BTC and LTC that he stole.

Maybe he had too much respect for the Blue Turtle Coin?

i noticed that Cryptsy website went into 'maintenance' a few days ago too
there is no way this could be a speedy trial, when you mix:
-claimed 'hacker' thieves ... mr wacker signed a contract to return part of the loot Grin
-gross custodial negligence
-class action
-offshore 'China' assets
-CRYPTO ... "wat?" says the judge
-and top it with a divorce

only the lawyers will get paid Wink

Yeah, that's what I was going to say, they will pay these guys $400/hour each out of the Cryptsy money, not government money.
If Paul Vernon actually had a couple million of his own money left, that will pay for the lawyers and receivers and liquid capital that was of the company.

$400/hour is not a lot, it's about the hourly going rate of a mid range decent attorney these days. If you've been to court like me, you've easily paid a lawyer $300-400 an hour.
That money will be locked up for quite a while, if Vernon doesn't have the privkeys to "hack" the UNO as well. You never know, once the price gets too sweet for him with his Chinese girlfriend he may need to cash out coins he can reach to stay on the lam.

As for the Protanium/testnet discussion: Yes, it's true the testnet could need an entire reset at any time should there need to be some heavy testing on it. I thought everyone was aware of that, it being a testnet, but I can so how that would piss people off if they had money involved. Yes, inherently a testnet should actually have no value. If you try to monetize BTCs testnet, they just reset it on purpose.

The government is paying Mr. Sallah $400/hr to handle this... $400 per hour... $400 per hour
And in a United States bankruptcy, the professionals (ie attorneys, administrators, etc.) get paid out of the asset pot first!

A judge has frozen Cryptsy's remaining assets. It looks like the inkling a few of you had is right; the UNO there will be locked up for quite some time. On the bright side, it may be returned at some point.

Source: http://themerkle.com/florida-judge-freezes-cryptsy-assets-and-appoints-receiver/

Kenneth Marra, a Florida District Judge, has frozen what remains of assets belonging to Cryptsy. James D. Sallah has been appointed as Receiver.

The order states:

“The Receiver shall assume and control the operations of Cryptsy and shall pursue and preserve all of its claims.”

Sallah is authorized to take possession of all Cryptsy assets, including any digital currency deposits like UNO that were not withdrawn prior to the shutdown.

Paul Vernon told CoinDesk in January that he was “travelling” in China, and has not been seen, or heard from, since that interview.

The Cryptsy UNO cold wallet is still here, https://chainz.cryptoid.info/uno/address.dws?202946.htm

So nuff said, here, moving along ...

For real. Some old arguments being dug up in the forum lately.

We're on a 200,000 ton steel ship; we've got one sailor complaining about his bunk-mate masturbating too loudly and someone else who's upset about the paint job on the dinghy. I appreciate all input, but lets focus on keeping the engines well-oiled and our ammunition reserves full.

Well my friend, your crazy Spartan sailor made the miracle and own 20% of entire  giant blue ship. If there were four more Spartan sailors which love the blue that much : then you buy your Un on 0.5  ......I  easy can made this coin "my bitch" BUT I am not Gekko. I love this coin wary much.

Big Art show is coming and I buy another big chunk soon  Smiley

There can be as many testnets as we need. PR was built on #3.  We won't run out of testnets.

It's "testnet3" because UNO was forked from Bitcoin and bitcoin's testnet was on its third iteration - each "testnet" replaces the previous one they don't exist in parallel.  If the testnet is reset all the balances on it will go to zero.

the Creator of UNO
is the Creator of PR

Elvis is not in the building, but some of us are trying to keep the lights on.

I created the thread so to end the heated debate on the merits of an 'experimental' test net.

Beautifull chart IMO.

+11 someone post a pretty chart with trend lines

We get it, you do not like the purplething, but I still think it is handy to have an uno test chain.

It is a good idea, and that is what UNO had.  What it has now is a test chain that has been monetised.

Quote from: BitcoinNational
The $3k in monetization with hope will bring new devs to play in the UN sandbox, or even better lure the Creator back.
Having a test chain brand also is likely to bring more hands to the UNOverse.  I think it has already  Wink
(At the very least that small market cap can be used to fund nodes).
(At the very best that small market grows along with UN an becomes the R&D programmers Fund

Or worse the test net is actually needed and has to be reset (there is a reason why the current one is number 3) and everyone who has spent money on Proto loses that money and are turned away completely.

Bluntly I think it sends the message that UNO is not a serious operation, as it basically doesn't even have a test environment. How are future changes to be tested?

Yes this shit was premined by the Creator.
And yes it is still just a Nerd toy.

Well it's not just me! So I can say WE too.

"(At the very best that small market grows along with UN an becomes the R&D programmers Fund). " - That is pointless because  Unobtanium alone is a perfect programmers fund. But U don't wanna give it away right? From what I remember when I ask the community to donate to THE dev U show up with 1Un. So do not convince me how much U care about the Creator. It is more painless to giving some purple shit. I Honestly say this one : The community don't want give away own precious Unobtanium , so let give away some shit with no real value to us. Well no DEV will care for free. Only one do it happy for free  because He own part of Uno. U all know this dev. If U want results from other devs shake your pockets a bit in the future.

Test net is net for testing and nothing more.

just wondering why more people don't trade UNO/USD

Wonder too.  Have an idea to trade it against Nubits.  Rather that than trusting an exchange.  No rush 3-4  others are doing a pegged $coin, so wait and see.  Prefer to do an in house (shapeshift like) instant trade thing Wink
