@HagbardCeline - I'm interested in buying 250 of those Pr from you. Let me know how you'd like to do so. I've been a long time UNO supporter but never wanted to create a BCT account until I saw this. Thanks.

mmpool has survived an amazingly difficult ddos attack.  I'm back mining with them after contacting mmpool by pm.  If you want to put hash at this pool and earn Uno while mining Btc, contact mmpool for a private mining address.

As promised, here's something I've been toying with since seeing siameze's request for a testnet chunk of coins. Testnet has been live in Un since 0.9.5ish, but no one's used it much. I got to thinking that testnet coins for a coin that has a great following might also be fun to mine, since they have the exact same type of rewards structure. To that extent, I present:

Prototanium. Its like Un, because it is.

Web: http://proto.uno (not much there quite yet)
Block Explorer: http://proto.uno/crawler/
Faucet: http://proto.uno/faucet

Prototanium is a main-net storage vault that is 100% compatible with the Un testnet chain. It is based entirely on the 0.10.x branch of Unobtanium but supports synching and using the testnet chain of Un instead of its own blockchain!

Prototanium (prototype unobtanium) synchs the live Unobtanium testnet; this means its a way to utilize this valuable sidechain of Unobtanium directly and allow running wallets for both networks without command line switches. It also allows for pools, block explorers, and exchanges to interact with the Un sidechain without need for recompile.

The best part is, if you're using the Un testnet now; you can already send and receive Prototanium! Everything is compatible and linked between the networks. Prototanium will give you the option of using the Unobtanium/testnet3 directory on the first run--you don't need to, but you can if you're already using the Un testnet. You can also choose to install it in to Prototanium or any other directory--on *nix, the default is ~/.Prototanium to avoid issues with daemons already running on machines and to allow Un and Pr to be run together.

Mac: Coming soon, working out the kinks from the last run of Un still
Source: https://github.com/thegreatoldone/prototanium

Completely fairly launched because its been in the client for more than a year. As of current count, there are only about 35,000 blocks on the network and most of them I mined while working on this project. I have enough to share 5 1% chunks and will offer them for 10 Un each, that's a 1Un:250PR ratio; all proceeds will go towards further development and the conference in September. PM me if you're interested!

Very very cool! Thanks, Hagbard! I'm diggin' it! Smiley

UNO community is coming directly into contact with sidechain tech.

android wallet stuck at block 633129 (16 july 18:07)

The first version of the app on Google Play did not connect to any peers because its node list was out of date.  That was fixed within one day, however, it is still possible that the app will not connect.  Currently I am seeing 5 peers under the Network Monitor.

Please let me know if there are any problems getting nodes (having no connections will prevent the app from working).

Yeah... I've been trying from time to time to synch over the past several days... No peers and 11 weeks behind.

So... should I abandon that wallet and download a new one from the Google Play Store?  (There is less than 1 UNO on it)

Ian and I will get an android set up, so we can give it a whirl.

[Forgive, guys. Our set up is different. For example, this laptop is connected by a ten-metre cable to a wallopin' great antenna. We're in the boonies!]

I know last minute "great ideas" can be a pain, but can I ask anyway.... Do the nodes need to be hardcoded?  Could we maintain a list on Unobtanium.uno in a text file that could be imported into the wallet? That way we could always add the latest new nodes.   Something like unobtanium.uno/nodelist.txt with just a list of addresses.

I'm certainly doing my part to reduce the number of Uno on Cryptsy. I'm up to 0.5% of all Uno, this is the most I've held of any altcoin. I'll continue accumulating for as long as it's available for less than my cost average (0.0093 as of now).

I want to remind you guys that a donation of only 0.4 UNO to my cryptocurrency-related twitch stream will put Unobtanium on the top 5 list. I already have it listed there as my largest holding but would like it on the donations list, I will continue to recommend UNO as a strong store of value to my viewers. Just follow the link in my sig for more details as well as the donation address. You will even get some recognition in the form of a link; twitch profile, bitcointalk profile, whatever.

Hi Edgar,

I was able to get it to sync by manually setting a node to one of the known node IP addresses listed on the chainz explorer. You can get to that from "Trusted peer" in the settings menu. You'll just need to enter the IP address of one of the nodes. If one doesn't work, try another until you get a connection (some nodes have a limit on how many connections can be made). Make sure you connect to one of the v0.10 or higher nodes.

Dedicated Android Wallet for UNO - Request funds for development

See the original request here:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.10831261

We now have 160 of our 125 UNO (at today's price) goal!

udroidNXd1YNoL1DgNu8NktemcnexiBByM

...

Thanks everyone for your generosity!

The Unobtanium android wallet has now been published to the google play store. It is advised that you install that version so that you get updates pushed to your device. As agreed, I will shortly send HashEngineering 1/2 of the above fund. The other half will be sent to HashEngineering after 30 days as long as no show-stopper bugs are still lurking. Show-stopper bugs will have a high bar to qualify, namely the app cannot send or receive funds or eats coins in some way... I wouldn't qualify show-stopper bugs as ui improvements unless they are in some way incorrect.

But we already have a problem, lack of known static nodes.

If you run UNO on a static IP and have your p2p port open for connections (v0.10 or above), please reply with your IP or PM myself or HashEngineering. I'm not sure if dns name will work, but send that too if you have one. We should get those in the app so nodes are available to users. This is something the UNO community is going to have to keep on top of to keep the Android app functioning. If you have one, thanks for running a node!

Uno is fun when it's high, and fun when it's low.
