Hey, Blue Man!

[Love the blue!]

The point is not that Uno folk have a tremendous amount of opsec knowledge.* The point is to marshal all that information into a beginning-to-end series of easy-for-the-newcomer-to-understand ‘modules.’ (Worth digs this.)

So, we undertook to produce Exhibit X, which required that we understand Y, which we realized makes no sense unless you can do Z. We've been sorta backin' up for a fortnight now, trying to figure out what's gonna be in Module One.

It’s gonna take ages, but our ‘curriculum’ at this point may be (a) DIY crypto-security podcasts, and, in parallel, (b) a couple of podcasts explaining Cryptos, The Universe, and Everything.

And we’ll ask, as the project progresses, for assistance from those community members with particular knowledge.

*Yet we listed two security breaches among us Australians in just the last ten weeks!

I popped on for another reason, but [sigh] this is a good point:

"After all it is business too, not only fun!

There is nothing shameful about to ask money for your services specially when you are honest dev. "

And we can find a way!; and I think it's fair to note that the Guild is the perfect instrument.

The Security Thang:

Worrywart Mark wondered if some campers would find this project a bit silly. But no more! In a matter of days, Ian and I have already begun polishing our own security protocols in response to what we're learning. And dang it's interesting. Feel free to ask, and to involve yourself.

I understand that free time is problem for all of us. And specially the DEV guys are busy and they are not working for free. And we going to be happy if dev like Blazr2 for example come here and say: / Hi guys I can do the fork. My price for that work is 15 btc,30btc or 50btc... 1ton,2tons,5tons..../   Whatever is the real cost.

So I invest money  long term as any of you and want to take  care the best professional way .......

I don't understand why those dev people don't come here and put the cards on the table when we need them? So we don't pray and ask for them every time. After all it is business too, not only fun!

There is nothing shameful about to ask money for your services specially when you are honest dev.

Amen, Mark.

I hold a lot of coins, most of them not very valuable. Some of them (like Uno) very valuable, and I expect them to hold value/appreciate over the long term. Other coins are just short term transactional vehicles, like tipping with doge, spending bitcoin.

To me, some of the most interesting coins are in my "not very valuable pile."  Blazr's illuminati coins to me are just kinda oddball, art. Call me crazy, but I have some really weird and interesting coins in my long term collection, including 23skidoo and cthulu, and I'm always looking for others that stand apart.

I buy art from local artists not because it's valuable or because they're famous, but because they're interesting, and I get to "own" a piece of the artist, or it reminds me of something, or some place. I have no intention to resell it or make money.  And yes, some are just shit but I like them any way (like that painting I have of dogs playing pool... my wife hates it but it speaks! to me! Smiley )

In the cryptoworld (just like in the art world) there's a lot of crap, so when I find something that's kinda cool for whatever reason (interesting dynamics, interesting history, interesting vision, unique dev, cool wallet, first xx coin, longevity, etc), I try to acquire some of it. If it's supercheap, I might try to own a quantity, say 10% of production.   I like sha coins primarily because they are so easy to keep running, scrypt is easy, too. But when you start getting into these x11/x13 algos with POS, where their future is really uncertain without the dev's nodes, I lose interest in those coins.  To me it's the difference between a painted canvas (Sha256) and a some kind of huge Christos wrapped island that I can't possibly maintain by myself; they're both art, but one is much easier to maintain than the other.

All paper isn't money. Neither is all crypto. But the differences can be subtle, and personal.

"stressful full time job"

I dig what Blue Man is saying. I dig what Falling Knife is saying.

My gig in IMZ includes theory:

the open-ended over-scheduled-ness/regulatory complexity of westerners' daily lives is presently approaching an historically unprecedented form of mass, low-level mental illness. And the weirdness got a long way to go yet.

Let this community be renowned for its ability to perform under pressure: rockchain crypto, rockchain community.

yea all good memories that's it. I got it

I appreciate YOU. You're not memories ,but here and now like always. And all the others guys who are here around always Cheesy
Thanks, man. I appreciate that.
That's about all I can give, though. That a little buy support at times.

Coding this crypto stuff can be intense lonely hours, and the work isn't always appreciated. I work with developers, and I know sometimes it really sucks to be one. That's why I'm really glad when people with those skills step in to help.  I've had the honor to chat with blazr a few times in the last month; I know he's still interested in Uno, even tho he has other interests, and a stressful full time job, family, etc. He's busy, and his approach to crypto has always been more personal curiosity, artistic, appreciation/experimentation with the tech, and teaching/helping others. He got a look at the money side during the Wolong/Panda deal, and it nearly put him off of crypto permanently.  He's a different kind of crypto enthusiast, thankfully.  I'm happy he launched FLAX. It's another one of his cool fun odd ball coins.  I'm glad he's still interested in enough to have a vision for a new coin.

I have time to hang around here because I am NOT a developer. If I had to add that responsibility to my current assumed role as cheerleader, I would burn out fast, and probably have a lot less patience Smiley  Seriously... if you added 20/40 hours a month of dev time per month to what little I already do, and I'd be dead. I really feel for these guys. Writing code/building/testing can take a lot out of a person.  If Blazr had a huge Uno pre-mine, I think we could stake a big claim to his time, but then again if he had a big pre-mine, it wouldn't be the Uno we all love.  Still, I'd love to see him get more active with Uno again, and I'll keep dropping the idea to him every chance I get.

Different people step up at different times to make a difference to Uno. I appreciate what Blazr's done. If he does more sometime in the future, that's fine.  If not, thanks for the memories; we can still be friends.

What is this shit? Are we getting the full Bryce Weiner discount now?
Some buysupport/pressure would be good, guys.

The largest wallet on Bittrex just added 25+ more $UNO.  Why are they adding to their $UNO stack?  Well, readers of this forum know the answer.

I'm waiting to see if BTC takes a dip this coming week so I can stack more $UNO as well.
