That is strange !!! Uno  blockchain never take a week to upload! The Uno rockchain is very light. Huh

You're absolutely right, the Uno blockchain should never take that long.

A week or two ago, I tried to install a software upgrade (TortoiseSVN FWIW).  The upgrade didn't take, tried it like 4 times.  But I needed my version control, so I did a System Restore to right before the first upgrade attempt.  Now System Restore claims it doesn't mess with your any of your "documents", but I guess the rockchain doesn't qualify as "documents", so it was like, 4 weeks, 8 weeks, 4 months, 8 months (I don't remember) behind.  But it took maybe an hour, at most, to catch up.

And none of my coins were missing.

I smell a keylogger on the OP's computer.  And a UNO-savvy keylogger installer at that...

Guys is there a way to check exactly what happens in this case? Any suggestions?
The coins are gone, but must be scanned for keyloggers and other shit. It's good if we know what is the reason!

Strange situation on my computer, I don't know how this could have happened.  Someone has managed to transfer uno funds out of my wallet.  The wallet was locked with my passphrase.  The passphrase is long and complex, so I thought it was quite secure.  I noticed something strange about a week ago when the blockchain needed re-uploading from scratch.  I waited for it to upload (I don't use this computer much so it took about a week) and today discovered the wallet had been emptied.  The interesting thing is as far as I can recall I have not unlocked the wallet for quite sometime almost 6 months, so it most likely would not have been a key logger.  The amount taken was 93.79 uno, disappointing but not a major setback.  The machine will need rebuilding though which will be a headache.

Always painful to have a personal system breached. A quite lookup Leeds me to believe UEFI offers no additional avenue of attack. A flat reformat should ensure the system is secure.

If your concerned about the build in recovery software you can always format the drive from an alternate OS and reinstal windows from the DVD instead of through the refresh system.

As for usb based Linux I would suggest http://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=damnsmall DSL or https://www.freebsd.org/ FreeBSD. DSL was ewasy enough last time I used it and FreeBSD is spoken of highly though Ive never used it. Always felt like a lot of hard work and I didn't have a 'need' for it. Outside of those, Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora or Slackware I suppose.

Sad to hear about your losses mate. hopefully someone might be able to track the coins.

@ Sabretooth: sorry to hear about that.

@ Blue Man: wow the order. Welcome to Blue Man, Legend to Be.

@ 'Hoovering': the project is alive and well. Just gettin' my timing right. IndiaMikeZulu is buying coin this week.

@ Edgar: the paper fiat thing? Hence my 'pre-apology.' There has been a slew of reports from a range of countries.

@ Cryptopia: "indiamikezulu: (Just now)
Hello from the Unobtanium crowd. We are promoting Cryptopia on our Bitcointalk thread."

@ Falling Knife: as I get better at Hoovering, it will add a little volume to Bittrex. A couple of times, I've 'worked my way' to Bittrex.

It sure wouldn't hurt to put half of that over on Bittrex. If it fills it would help keep Uno above their annoying minimum volume thresholds.  Just a thought -- not tell ya where to trade. Smiley

It wasn't that long ago, really, that someone dumped 7 btc at 005 on me over there. I know people will move coins there and sell them if they see a nice a buy order.

Thanks to those of you who spread it around and keep our exchanges hopping.
Bleutrade is still one of my favorites and deserves a look. It's a nice platform, and you can also trade alternate pairs between any coins there (i/e UNO and HamRadioCoin, or whatever) .  They have a USD market there that I wish we were were all making better use of.

Cryptopia still has that "new market smell," but I really like what I see over there. I have some coins stocked there now, so don't forget to check them. Go and troll for for Uno in their troll box.

The most vulnerable moment for any hot wallet is the moment you enter your password!!! After that moment is the real exposure ! So my advice is :  After  every time you use password and finish your transaction -just go ofline  and change your password...So the password remain  virgin all the time! I think that is good practice.

Of Course the cold storages is the best and also use VPN  is recommended!

"the war has acquired a powerful new ally in Chase, the largest bank in the U.S., which has enacted a policy restricting the use of cash in selected markets; bans cash payments for credit cards, mortgages, and auto loans; and disallows the storage of "any cash or coins" in safe deposit boxes."

Looking at it from another angle.  Chase, the largest bank in the U.S might be "cash short" if you know what I mean.  (Part of the ELB problem)

So the solution is use their political clout to 'discourage' the use of physical paper fiat ... cuz heck you still have to pay to make piles of it ... Chase much prefers slaves only use 'funny' blockchainless 'just trust us' digital money.

LOL ... yes "Legal Tender" is printed on the damn ticket ... but no you can not make payments for credit cards, mortgages, etc ...  I see massive class action law suit soon.

 Shocked Shocked
What does this signal to China, Saudi Arabia, Gemany and any other country literally sitting on a mountain of USD paper cash?

"Head like a squashed Kiwi"

That's how it feels living in the land of Cryptopia.

Everyday something NEW to HYPE ... what Knife said above (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.11196679) sums up my attitude as well.

How many times do you need to get run around the block before you get the fact that your just running around a circle?

6.  Equity/Stocks/DAO coins : coming soon Smiley .... and not a one of them proven ... well except UNO, and yes I think of UNO as a DAO ... and the product we create is value and trust by proof of it works.

DAO, DAO, Daylight come and i wanna go home.

Six is what I am awaiting, The world will see these times, as turning points.
Blockchain is the answer.
Imagine how different the world may have been if a simple punch register in Florida was sharpened on both sides.
Control and freedom...amazing concepts really.

Unobtanium: Rare, Fair, Vetted, and tested by the fires of Time!

Anyone serious about crypto best learn the different flavours on offer and learn it quick else you will loose all your loot.

1.  the bitcoin: that's the $/crypto entrance and exit ... and it is a hot potato to hold too long ... LTC and DASH wannabes.

2.  the HYPEco(i)n:  they're fun if your and insider and holding the lot of the ninja/premine ELSE you're the sucker.

3.  the P&Dco(i)n:   just like gambling but online 24/7, everyone knows this shit-coin-ofthe-week is only up to POP!

4.  the fixedVALUEcoin:  these are Nu, and I think, the answer to the big problem of store of a 'fixed' value.  Cool it helps $10 stay $10 but there will not be any gains.

5.  UNO :  store of value, plus proven ability to gain.  So $10 in a year later $12 out.  But also can function as the fixedVALUEcoin.   So $10.00 in a month later $10.20 out.  No big gain but awesome effect for the merchant/customers using UNO to buy and sell.  Now the stakes coins also will likely store value too.  BUT the security of their networks is 'unKnown' and theoretically 'questionable'.  Also staking is a hazard and a hassle.  Uno is simple to cold store.  Store of Value and soon The Reserve Currency of the Internet.

6.  Equity/Stocks/DAO coins : coming soon Smiley .... and not a one of them proven ... well except UNO, and yes I think of UNO as a DAO ... and the product we create is value and trust by proof of it works.
