Due to the UNO network experiencing deep re-orgs or possible attempts at double-spend by miners, I am disabling the dice games until further notice.

I sure miss those dice games.  Would 600 PHS help?

UNO is now getting 1/10th the hash of the Bitcoin network.

I can't find exact details on BCC/BCH (i tried too).
So I will ASSUME that it is sha256-POW.

Which will cause more sha mining options than just BTCpool only thinking.
Which I hope and i looks like such is true, pool ops are thinking out of the box and considering the MM coins to run parallel.

Behemoth Petas. Grin

Also I envision that as some as the hi-end equipment gets phased out of BTC competive-ness it will mine the MM and Multi-algos.

edit;
also looks like solo sha256 pow will be reexamined.  ZET was the leader behind BTC.  Now it is B-Cash?  There might me a great deal of reconsideration for ZET (which is 51% forkish ATM), Maza, Tiger, Unic, XJO, LEA, ASIC, p$, 23, and not much else.

Such an insane amount of hash.... Impossible to say for sure, but this makes me imagine that a mining farm in the China has pointed a heap of merge-mining power at UNO & BTC.

Crown and Terracoin are also undergoing similar crazy hashrates. If you find anything out please let me know Smiley

Recall your claims on the solvency of MtGox back in the days, pay back Roger Wink

Or just karma.

In a nut shell.

BTC is not will not be the store of value.  Something else without $Millions/day inflation riding on the same network will be.

Hello!
What is the point to place order like that on Bittrex
668mln Uno for 1 satoshi? It's wasting bitcoins for unobtainable quantity of unobtanium.

There is a very active UNO group on Telegram, with a customized price bot that favors UNO.  Seriously, download the Telegram app and join us there.
We still love Bitcointalk, but many of us now prefer the quick interactive communication of Telegram for discussing UNO.
You can get a Telegram desktop app for Windows, or download it on your Android or iOS device. Then go to:

https://t.me/unobtaniumuno

kel-alt -(July 24 - have not learned how to post a new thread)
I just want to say hello - first post here. I had no idea UNO was so active. I don't think I have seen
another (relatively unknown) coin with this much posting. I bought some back
in April for $7-9 because I liked the name and the low coin count, and am very pleased.
I sold some off for dogs, I've only been in cryptos since Jan, made lots of mistakes, and still making out like a bandit!
UNO has been rising relatively slower than some and holds well during red days - now regretting selling
and not having bought more. Not selling any more and looking forward to $100, $500, and $1000!
Maybe par with BTC! Patience!

I've got a kilo for electrum Wink  [make it happen]

......................

What are ur feels on WAVES?

open offer:

I would like to create an asset.  It will be endowed with some UNO redeemable on May 1 2020.
What does it do?  Kinda of a equity in this thread and merit for good deeds.
Other than that -- just for fun.

Discuss.  I'd like to give shares to any active participants here.   Right now.  (also Heros of past) / SPEAK UP.

wELL I created the 1.0 asset.
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.20343876

I ask some donate some slivers of WAVES to pay for transfers.  The backed UNO (9 kilos) is my responsibility.

The plan is to grant 7 of 9 tokens to the strong hands.  Here.  Subject to response.

The purpose is to have an instrument of equity for helpful forces in advancing the greater UNO project.
This is an attempt at Round 0.01 VC stuff.

Post or PM, your choice.

Asset is private equity, but will spin off to public after core distro.  Bearer Instrument.  You can sell/trade/give as you please.
OG private vehicle will remain post spin-off.  It is a corner stone.

strong hands / old hands
get a WAVES wallet it is EZ  Grin

Multi-algo should be on the table.
Such a fork doesn't touch upon fundamentals, just improves security protocols.  There is a test net.  Plenty of time to play.

I think it is a matter of copy and paste too, digi, digital have MM multi, the best option might be adding the XMY-groestl flavoring no?

Another thing is I was wondering if any of the POW have a 'unfreeze' mode, or simple timer, that recalculates the DIFF if the chain gets stuck for N-seconds.

Last but perhaps more debate-able.  master nodes.  this seems to be a proven method to pay the node keepers.

The toll/tax could be just rewarding 1 out over every 300 blocks to the longest uptime servers.  That's just 0.333% of the rewards.

Hi,

Noob situation and questions here.  I think I just got the software built in Ubuntu (16.04) following the instructions in FallingKnife's post #9207 "Quick-and-Dirty Unobtanium Wallet Build Guide - Linux".  If the build was indeed successful, how do I generate a key-pair or sync up with the network?  Is there a user-interface in the directory-structure that I cloned from github (and hopefully built adequately)? (It doesn't have to be a gui with bells-and-whistles -- although that would be great; I'd be alright with a command-line one too.) Nothing seems to show as executable -- is it just a matter of setting the user permissions or using chmod on some file or files?

I've got some of the Cryptonote (e.g. Monero and some others) and Dash wallets to work before but haven't really had much luck with the Bitcoin-based alt-coins. Also, the unobtanium.uno website shows that the QT Wallet for Linux is source-only with no executable, the Electrum wallet for Linux seems to be offline, and the reviewers for the Android app seem to indicate that crashes frequently.  Hopefully I'm not forced to hold UNO only on an exchange for now (especially because I'd like to be mining it).

I'm hoping some answers might clear up struggles I've had getting two or three other coins with a wallet and a node (I'm not sure if the latter is the correct terminology as I'm more used to Monero, etc.) functioning on Ubuntu.  I was pretty excited when the thing seemed to build but it seems to be only halfway to where I want to be with this.  Thanks in advance for any technical input from anyone.

I agree on shutting down the games till things 'normalize'. No point in assuming unnecessary risk.

Be it nonthreatening or accidental it still is sort of a big deal that there is a pool that could 51% the network. I was under the impression that that was one of the key reasons to merge mine.

Would a solution to how many alternate algos to consider consist of looking at the amount of hash they contain, picking those that could offset a certain % of the sha power? Would that be enough to keep a 51% attack from taking place?

If we did 3 different algos and were able to make it so each one was 33% of the hashing power would that be a potential solution?

How exactly would the other algos work to keep the network secure? Is there parity needed between the speeds? Like ant miners mined at 1 g/hs and scrypt miners were 1 m/hs, how would that impact miners here? Would the alternate algo networks be that much weaker to the point of it being a drop in the bucket ? I have been out of the mining loop for a long while now so i could be waaay off base with my thoughts here.

Bryce Weiner in telegram today,

Doesn't look like anything bad happened. We are getting swept up in profit switching mining pools.

Blockchains automatically reorg forks after a short period of time. It's already resolved. We are just checking out if there's anything malicious.

It was accidental, I'm sure. We are talking 30PHs that showed up out of nowhere. It cranked out blocks quickly until KGW could compensate. That's what caused the fork: more blocks produced than propagated.

I'm sitting here looking through the chain and it doesn't look hostile at all.

my 0.02 - that being said, multialgo pow is worthy of discussion.

50 USD incoming - again!! $50.47@coinimi

Well, I'm glad I can take his word for it, that's a burden lifted...  Roll Eyes

Closing my games are done as a result of an abundance of caution. Regardless, over 51% is still unacceptable.

To CrystalSufir's question, how many algos is a balancing act. Too many is difficult to maintain, not enough leaves too many miners in control... I would look to the successful multialgo coins out there for guidance. And no hardfork should be taken lightly, consensus is required.
