Heya

Just FYI that we're merge mining UNO on our multipool: www.xpool.ca and miners have the option to keep their UNO when it gets mined just by entering your UNO address in your user settings.

Feel free to update your list of pools mining UNO.

Cheers!

What coins can Uno be merge mined with, looking at the pool stats now and not even seen any past blocks, just shows idle.

Edit: Why is the windows wallet link broken?

Uno is still syncing. It finished a -reindex then stopped and next start the chain was gone, so going through it once again....

It is merged with all sha256 coins.

Is there a boostrap I can download for the uno blockchain?

2nd time now dl'ing the blockchain only to have uno crash when it's finished and then the blockchain is back to 0 blocks...

Any idea's whats up?

Like I said on the previous page, the merge mining code could very well have ended up in the master branch prematurely. I do not have confirmation on this, but I am pretty sure if the code was ready to launch we would have had official word of it by now.

Please wait for confirmation before using any UNO clients based on the latest Unobtanium Github master. Thanks!

Ah sweet, I'll likely switch over, mining uno at ispace right now. I needed to set a UNO addy though, and couldn't get a working wallet. Having surgery tomorrow and will be out a while, trying to get things running before hand.

Thanks for the notice, those links got deleted during our short maintenance downtime last week. Will see to it they are restored.

Hash down to 29 ths, so switched on a miner at Miningpools.tk. 5 blocks so far.

@FK (and other miners using these new-fangled mining pools for UNO) ...

God I miss miningpool.co.  They shut down recently because apparently they weren't profitable.  But they were so straightforward to use, they were great.  Apparently I wasn't the only one who felt this way, as they often constituted more than half of the entire network hash!

Before that I had been using uno.coin-pool.org.  They were so-so/ok, except for one major flaw: if you happened to leave their "dashboard" open in your browser, you'd come back and find that (at best) your browser was locked up tighter than a clam and you'd have to kill it (if you could), and -- more often than not -- you'd have to reboot your entire machine!

So after miningpool.co's demise, I tried digitalgold.co.  More on this below...

And now I just tried your suggested miningpools.tk.

I go to the "Getting Started" link there.  Only two options:

    1.  Download NOMP app
Our preconfigured app makes mining that easy.

I click that, and it comes back with an Alert saying "NOMP app development still in progress.", and your only choice is to click "OK".  (And what the heck does "NOMP" mean anyway?)

Okey dokey, so let's try option #2:

    2.  Select a coin for connection details
Configurations for each coin are available for advanced miners

I click that one (it IS a link) but nothing happens.

Okey dokey.

Now there's a list on the left of a whole bunch of coins.  So I scroll down and click on "Unobtanium".  Nothing happens.  I wash, rinse and repeat Options 1 and 2 again, then scroll down and click on "Unobtanium" again.  Nothing.  Somehow, I scroll back up and see there was indeed a hidden Alert/info box/whatever you want to call it, waaay up at the top.  It says:

    Configuration:
    Username: your unobtanium wallet address
    Password: anything
    Algorithm: sha256
    URL (difficulty 512): stratum+tcp://miningpools.tk:80

Ahh, now maybe we're getting somewhere.  Except none of these fields are editable, so I certainly can't paste in a UNO address in the "Username" field.

OK, so let's look some more.  There's a "Worker's Stats" link at the top, I click it.  Nobody is mining UNO there.  I'm starting to get more bummed than I already was.

Hmm, what else?  Ah, there's a "Mining Key" link at the top.  I decide to check that out.

In so doing, I run into the same quagmire I ran into at digitalgold.co.  In fact, they look like they're running the exact same script.  I'm pretty sure they are.

This sure ain't the kind of stuff for granny.  In fact, this ain't the kind of stuff for grandson.  Let's look at it.  Note that all these keys and address are *generated*, you can't edit them, not even your Public UNO address...

NO NOT LOSE THIS PRIVATE KEY. Any coins mined using this public key can only be controlled with this private key.
        Private key: a...
Key for mining (hashed public key): c...
An address for any type of coin can be derived from this mining key -
and each of those coin address can only be controlled by this private key

Public Unobtanium address:  u... [ed: uneditable!]
Private Unobtanium key in wallet import format:  8X...
How to import your private key for Unobtanium:
            Open your Unobtanium wallet app
Go to Help -> click Debug window -> click Console tab
Enter the following command: importprivkey 8X...

So I go to the Console...

            20:20:52
Welcome to the Unobtanium RPC console.
Use up and down arrows to navigate history, and Ctrl-L to clear screen.
Type help for an overview of available commands.

And I paste in the above "importprivkey 8X...":

            00:04:16
            importprivkey 8X...

            00:04:16
Error adding key to wallet (code -4)

This is the exact thing I got when I tried these buck-teeth, taped up glasses, pocket-protector convolutions with the same script at digitalgold.co.

God I miss miningpool.co.

I'm not mining now, haven't been for 10 days or so.

@BW, I know you don't read this forum, but please hurry up and bring MM to UNO, and please make it doable by mere mortals!  :-)

This shouldn't be this hard for normal folks.

DONT mine at coinking, I still havent been paidout.  No answers from support, no answers period!  Operator is still MIA!

Watch out for the "Neg-Rep-Dogie-Police".....
Yeah, it shouldn't be in master - maybe put in a request on git to make the appropriate changes? It would save everyone a lot of unnecessary hassle......

Well, why it is then in master branch?
It should be in separate branch and enabled on testnet somechow.
When it is planned to be working? Any milestones about that?
You are right. Form looking at the Github page it WAS in a "devel" branch until a week ago. I don't know why that changed. Maybe it was just an accidentally branch switch? I made a few stupid git branch errors myself in the past, though luckily only in private projects. Wink

I can't give you any ETA as I don't know any details beyond what was stated here in the thread. Hopefully FK or BW will be able to give us an update about this soon(ish).

Do the merged mining works at all?
Closed my node last night and put MM to another coin, but not found any block by over 12hrs, where it should happen at least 3 times in mean time.
Started back my P2Pool node.
It is posted anywhere, that MM is enabled (since what block) and it is working?
I'm not in touch with BW directly, but I'm pretty sure the MM is NOT ready yet. It is being actively developed, but has not been released. I suggest not building against the master of our Github repository, it has to be considered unstable (this is stated in the readme) until we get official word of a release.

I guess the error here is that the latest MM code has been pushed to the Github master without first making a release/tag of the latest stable client. We now have a Gihub repo without an easy way to build a stable client, which kinda sucks. If you need to build from stable code, Cryptapus has posted a link to his fork of the last stable UNO release here:
https://github.com/cryptapus/Unobtanium

Alternatively the code should be stable up to this commit:
https://github.com/unobtanium-official/Unobtanium/commit/efc1fedc7659685fb3320e90100aa2ad36f52d0c

It would be nice if we could retrospectively tag the previous codebase as a release...

Mine works too. Are there already wallets with the MM code in the wild?

The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao
I'm on v.0.9.5.0  = "subver" : "/Unobtanium:0.9.5/"

Is Unobtanium:0.9.5.9 causing the 'WARNING update nodes'?
This leaves me unable to sync.  Peers = 8

Just closed my QT.
