Dang!  ON CRISPY, no less!

Ok, ok, we need Bryce to say, "The price is too high." or something.  This is getting nutty.  I can't buy back the little I'm selling!!!

I swear I will never play with matches, again.

I think it is very good thing for UNO to have high price.
Higher price means there is incentive for miners to mine despite the upcoming drastic reward decreases.
We might cross 0.1 btc price this year.  Shocked

There is civil war ongoing in Bitcoin about the hardfork. Alts are on the up right now. I'm counting on 0.1 for Uno , that's much more according to the value i see.

I just saw that Tweet. Is the side-chaining business good for UNO?

I would recommend watching first how other coins do in the wild with it. I personally don't see huge value in them. Maybe i'm wrong. Let's observe others first what it does for them. Needs to hardfork too, doesn't it? It certainly increases complexity and blockchain size, and that's not a pro for security. Let others go first and watch how they do imo.  Wink

Bittrex is suffering from severe UNO shortage.

However, I guess shortage is pretty typical state for UNO due to extreme scarcity.

It's an Australian mob. You pay about 7% over the mark. It was IMZ that nudged the guy into accepting Uno.

We used these cards right back in 2013 (fewer coins accepted) because they are a great marketing tool, a 'bridge' to cryptos. It was fun in Small Western Australian Town to go to the Manager of a Mitre Ten Hardware or a Caltex Store, and explain that we were (indirectly) buying their products with a currency they denied the validity of.

Bitcoingiftcards appears to use CoinPayments to process all non-BTC payments. I've looked into using them myself but instead opted to simply use my own BTC and UNO wallets and to only accept those coins. Of course, with the Un-Ex growing, such a decision is made easier because with the Liquidity Engine I could safely and quickly sell some of the cryptos I recieve from a customer and get local currency quickly and fee-free Smiley

Ahh... Australia... got ya.  Where in Australia do you live?  One of my "best childhood friends" has been living in Australia for years.  He and I haven't really talked in about 3 years and I haven't seen him in person since the late 80's.  (Did I just show my age?).

"Newcomers will shun a dead and illiquid market"

Transactional volume! The bulk of Uno may be HODL-ed while the rest spends it time serving the 'currency function.'

I'm hittin' my local supermarket with a $100 Uno-purchased gift card on Monday morning.

IMZ,

Can you really buy a gift card with UNO?  If so, where?

Thanks,
Z

It looks like Bleutrade is ok, again.  Both my deposit and withdrawal were processed.

There was a minor logon bug, too, which is also resolved.

I assume it was just a server down, like they said, and maybe some transition or something, but everything appears fine, now.  I will still leave Post #5787 as a record.

I guess I'm a bit chatty, today.

Calculated LTC/UNO rate is 1.5+, but all that cheap UNO just sits around, unnoticed.  Wink

I could understand people ignoring cheap LTC on Bleutrade for the moment, with the issues over there, but I know the cheap LTC on Allcrypt has been there for days....Let's build MARKETS, together!  That's why I leave these.

Over a week ago, I had trouble withdrawing a tertiary alt, and it wasn't until the workweek, again, that they finally sent it.  I would say the 'risk' right now is low to moderate, but not 'freak out and pull out your hair'.

Today, I sent some BTC there, and my account was never credited.  I also attempted an UNO withdrawal, with no response as well.  Their system did record the withdrawal, but did nothing with it.

If I had to guess, I would think next week this will be dealt with.

RECOMMENDATION:  DO NOT DEPOSIT (OR WITHDRAW?) FUNDS TO/(FROM) BLEUTRADE FOR THE TIME BEING.

[ETA:  Additional chat:

mcmont Hello users, we received a warning that one of our servers had fallen. We are restoring the connection and everything will be normalized in the next minutes.]

[ETA, cont.:  That's fine and dandy, but it doesn't complete either of my two transactions.]

[Last edit:  Everything is fine, now, see 2 posts down from here.]

Highly recommended reading: http://gendal.me/2014/10/26/a-simple-explanation-of-bitcoin-sidechains/

Has interesting implications for our greater Un-Ex idea.

[Making sure that new members can acquire a reasonable stake is in the best long term interest and valuation of Uno, imo.   Newcomers will shun a dead and illiquid market, and that doesn't produce demand. The more people with a financial & emotional attachment to Uno, the better for Uno long term, and the better for the value of Uno.

At a higher price more coins could come to the market again. Right now you have to sell yours, i can't sell mine, sorry  Grin

Low supply is a specialty of this coin. So what do you expect?  Roll Eyes

It's illiquid on the sellside because the price the buyers make is just ridiculus. There can still be coins had on cryptsy if you're not looking for a ton or more.

Because value is potentially unlimited people will be as happy with 5$ coins as they will be with3$ coins. And later people will buy for 10$ gladly. At 50$ it's still a bargain.
