I think I agree in principle with Balu2: keep it simple, and watch and wait.

Un-Ex/'The Mall' is about community development. We can create a highly valuable community enterprise without a single tekerlikal bell or whistle.

I just saw that Tweet. Is the side-chaining business good for UNO?

If you ask me, we don't need that. It would also screw with the monolythic nature. Will it make Uno a better store of value? (no) Or will it cause blockchain bloat? (yes) Keep it simple.

I think Bryce just wants to hype as usual.

You remember that guy who asked for blocknet implementation? Same retarded neophile mindset.
This space is full of neophiles who flip flop all the time and only fail because nobody thinks a year or two ahead or even intends to be sustainable.
Where is blocknet today? Oh, right. It made 0.2btc volume today and will be delisted next few weeks ...

See this article:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neophile
it links at the bottom to 'low arrousal' theory

We should be concerned with improving security and not with lowering that. Uno is a pure moneytoken and we don't need bells and whistles imo. It is good the way it is. You can build on top of it. You don't need to introduce changes to a perfectly running blockchain.
We have a perfectly stable foundation with this blockchain. It doesn't need change. Build on top of it without a hardfork, dammit!
If you weaken the foundation you do no good. Don't bloat the chain! It's mindblowing compact and small. The extremely small blockchain is a huge sellingpoint in the future. Why screw that?
Sidechains is phony hype at this stage. I want to see it in bitcoin and how it doesn't cause trouble. I think it will cause a lot of trouble.
my 2 cents.

(sorry for ranting but this space is full of neophiles and 99% of things fail. So please let's be conservative a littlebit. The neophiles right now are screwing bitcoin - don't let them screw Uno. So far they screwed everything up they started with that mindset. I'm not against innovation btw but when you have a monolyth you don't hang a sink, a lantern or a birdscage at it.)

Thank you for the reply I like rarity in a coin,I am one of the few in the world that own one 42 coin.Have you a link to your white paper please I now think its worth reading.Again thanks for your time

The whitepaper are the specs.
I'm not aware that one would exist. And why should it? The path is simple, the way is clear.

All the message is in the specs.

@ Coinmaster 222:

Uno settled into a pattern of price-stability a few months after its launch. Check the 365-day charts of the top sixty coins on Coinmarketcap. How many other coins are both worth more Bitcoin today than they were ten months ago, and stayed stable during that time?

Next: Uno is already in the home straight to its centuries'-long maintenance mode. While Bitcoin has constant difficulty soaking up the thousands of newly-mined coins hitting the markets every day, Unobtanium has so few coins left to be mined that people are queued up to buy them.

Next: Uno's nature -- 'simple,' rare, fair -- has attracted a community with far more depth than most.

And that, Coinmaster, is your answer! Unobtanium isn't gonna zoom-up-ficate fabulously at Some Indeterminate Time in The Future. We've arrived!

Welcome.

And we have an in-house exchange: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/unobtanium-in-house-exchange-757232

Lol, if the coin doesn't cure cancer, i don't care about it. Seriously, wtf do people want? The more bs a coin has to offer, the more bs you have to deal with. It is simple. Uno isn't trying, and that is what makes it so cool, duh! The harder you try, the less cool you are. I mean, A LOT of effort is going into a lot of things from a bunch of different people, not to say anything wrong about that. It is just, Uno is a pretty solid. Like Bitcoin, but smaller, in better hands. If someone needs a hard sell on anything, they most likely should do more research and make sure they are picking something THEY want to invest in. Not something someone else is pushing them towards putting money in. It is a unique trait of humans to want to divert blame though, so i can see the appeal.

I see what was being said on reddit, what does it offer over btc. Nothing, what ever, Use your btc, buy them @ 300 each, or 600, or 1200, and see where you are at this very moment. Perhaps making a mad dash to buy more to average out your buy in. Who knows. There are other coins out there for me to spend. I don't buy bullion to turn around and sell it a week from now. It was bought because hopefully in a decade or so it will be worth more than what i paid after you factor in inflation and whatnot. There are other products to buy if you wanna flip em quick to make a buck or two on metals.

Getting back to work being done. Derivatives are at play on a smaller scale with Dvc and the Un-Ex forum exchange.

That is always going to be the biggest hurdle to overcome when talking about Uno. The why? If you need a reason other than what anyone here is willing to put forth, then i sincerely hope you find what you are looking for else where. Some other coin is bound to have it. That is the hook. So many things in society today have gimmicks attached, the no gimmicks, other than being a crypto, is sorta a selling point in my eyes but i can see that not being appealing enough for some.

@IMZ I read your thread on Reddit and I have to admit, it reminded me of conversations with colleagues about their faith in fiat backed by nothing but central banks v PMs. It's almost like something that has "old school" hard asset value does not compute in people's brains these days.

Most of the people on reddit seemed to be looking for a coin that had a bunch of bells and whistles in it. I had to ask myself, do I want my currency to have an encrypted, anonymous chat component? Nah, not really, I just want it to be an island of value stability in an insane fiat world. If I want to use encrypted, anonymous chat, I'll use silent circle or protonmail.ch, not my wallet. LOL

@ Gustav: spent 5 or 7 posts yesterday arguing with a guy who just couldn’t grasp that Unobtanium is at all different from Bitcoin.

‘This rarity thing (he says) is just not real/relevant!’

Supply and demand make a price - i don't know what's to argue about it. We have shown it in the numbers many times on this thread how Uno is very different from other coins. Not everyone wants or can understand it. Maybe he needs a picture drawn to get his head around it or something.  Wink

Blockrewards are real and the impact of miners on the cryptomarkets are also real. Not everyone is a pioneer or independant thinker. Most people will buy Uno when it's a much more established coin and on a higher marketcap.

What thread were you in? I'd love to read it.

@TrueCryptonaire

Looks like there's a lot for sale, just at higher prices.

Why don't you visit the in-house trading forum of UNO-EX at www.tinyurl.com/UNO-EX and place an order?

[Find ‘View all’ over the images, on the right. One of those birds and his chick is here now.]

@ Bluetrade USD: IMZ can’t assist at all in this; but you guys go!! Price-independence! Buy Uno with fiat (then we'll segue to Uno for bullion)

It would be refreshing to see $UNO climb to $5 over the next ten days.  I really believe that it will happen as people look to alternatives to BTC. We've seen a lot of new, interested parties in this forum...

I mean, at 'Trex, the volume today is almost 6 BTC. That ought to keep us good with them for a few months!  Wink

It should rise quite a bit so that we get more mining power to our network.
If the alternative is to pay for mining to genesis mining or rise the price, I count on the latter as the mining will follow rising prices for sure. After all, mining is  business.

I can see 1 UNO costing 10 000 USD after some years (perhaps 3-5 yrs). Then we are lucky if we are able to purchase 0.0001 UNO and the mining is profitable even at minimum block reward.
