yeah, good point, now that it is recovered we can all feel more comfortable giving you some shit (all in good spirit of course) for not having at least 2 copies of your encrypted wallet on thumb drives and clouds.

I've got paper wallets (2 copies of each) in plastic bags in a safe. am thinking I should get one of those bitkey things that FK got because it seems so much less susceptible to damage. One thing that concerns me is that my paper wallets are inkjet printed, but i don't have a laser printer and dont think i should print private keys on public printers.
So I'm actually considering keeping more kilos strictly digital. My hard drive failed last week also and I had 100kg of UNO in a hot wallet, and recovering it was a piece of cake since i have backups of my wallet (with a wicked strong password). I am thinking that my safe could be stolen, but an encrypted wallet in various places could always be recovered.
I welcome everyone's thoughts and discussion on backups and cold storage
