Anyone remember Operation Web Tryp?

Operation Web Tryp was a United States Drug Enforcement Administration operation that ended on July 21, 2004 with the arrests of 10 persons. Its purpose was to investigate web sites suspected of distribution of unscheduled, unregulated tryptamines and phenethylamines of questionable legality.

...One of these websites, pondman.nu, was allegedly taking in U.S. $20,000 per week and grossed $700,000 before being shut down. Another, racresearch.com, reportedly grossed $500,000 in 14 months...

And Liberty Reserve?

In May 2013, Liberty Reserve was shut down by United States federal prosecutors under the Patriot Act after an investigation by authorities across 17 countries. The United States charged founder Arthur Budovsky and six others with money laundering and operating an unlicensed financial transaction company. Liberty Reserve is alleged to have been used to launder more than $6 billion in criminal proceeds during its history.

It's a cat and mouse game that continues.  Encryption just adds a digital wrinkle to the game.  Small fry have nothing to worry about, anon vendor whales by their nature cause bigger splashes.  While the technology may function flawlessly every time, it's a human user that will fail at some point.  (Anyone watch The Wire?)

Might everyone post a single-sentence thought on this development?

http://www.coindesk.com/day-reckoning-dark-markets-hundreds-illicit-domains

It's disconcerting that they are not stopping at shutting down the dark markets; their rhetoric is targeted at undermining TOR.

are all these anoncoins about to loose their only usecase? Anoncoins is officially over. People can be happy if one or two of them survive longterm.

@ Bittrex: I have been struggling with Internet coverage of late (again). But things are a little better, so I can try a bit of trading. I can add a smidgeon of activity on Bittrex.

This low volume is going to become a problem soon if it continues on Bittrex.
The dumpers are rare these days, and the market is thin on the sell side.
I know we're all still a little gun shy from MintPal, but is there a middle ground here?  Like trading 5-10%, hodling 90-95%?

I don't want to take all of the credit for killing the markets (plenty of blame to go around, probably), but perhaps my pledge not to place any Un on the sell side until 2015 wasn't a particularly good one.

I continue to accumulate some Un every day.  I bought up Bittrex a bit, but come on...  5 un between 0080 and 0081, its hard to take it much higher without it looking like a pump.

Here's how thin Trex is right now:

Moolah keeps my UNO hostage. Other with this problem? When withdrawing it returns: daemon returned error.
Sorry to hear that you were caught in the Moolah trap. They got me, too.  I'm just waiting and watching, but I don't have much hope.

This is a known MintPal Uno wallet. I'm watching it for any movement.

I don't twatter, but I hope you guys are reaching out to BW on Twitter and showing support for him.  I haven't noticed that anyone is.

(Just a thought.  If I was on there, I would post a nice one for him.)  (...Are you afraid of trolls hoping on?  Why should a troll keep us from being our decent, supportive selves?)

@ another fiat portal: Huge news! Over time, let's look at options available to smaller nations. Certainly a Euro/Uno pair.

And:

The Japanese and the ECB have both recently announced big stimulus packages (which pushed the stock markets sharply up). But the ECB announcement puzzled me: 'Haven't the Germans pledged to prevent this?'

'We now learn from a Reuters report that [ECB Guy] defied an explicit order from the governing council when he seemingly promised to boost the ECB's balance sheet by €1 trillion. He also jumped the gun with a speech in Jackson Hole, giving the very strong impression that the ECB was alarmed by the collapse of the so-called five-year/five-year swap rate and would therefore respond with overpowering force. He had no clearance for this.'

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/comment/ambroseevans_pritchard/11211973/Mario-Draghis-efforts-to-save-EMU-have-hit-the-Berlin-Wall.html

This is a big deal because the stimulus is the dance music, and when the music stops . . .

Comkort exchange has added a UNO/USD market. Uno is one of just 10 initial markets selected for trading in USD. It's Uno's second Usd market in a month!

Comkort's Un/Btc market has not been very active for several months.  Running an exchange is very tough business, and volume begets volume. I'm glad Comkort thinks enough of Un to stick with it even in the face of very little activity. I hope their persistence will eventualy reward them.  Adding a Un/Usd market is nod to Uno.

... no silver .oz .999 acquirable in my neck of the woods ... but think of doing gold back offer ... .999 pure AU and easy to take (a hold of) a position.

I wonder where that is, because such a thing tells me silver is more valuable there, were markets rational.

I cut loose Altcoinfaucet.net. It was a very good service, just a little pricey.

For those of you who feel your wallet needs a little dust, Cryptapus is still running a UNO faucet at http://cryptap.us/uno/faucet/

Check out all of the cool stuff that Cryptapus does for the UNO community. He's brought a lot of value to UNO, and made it more fun to own.

Have you tried his UNO dice games?
Be sure to patronize his services.  You can show him a little love with a tip to uQkoQyjd4K2ALowKnZuRMJxaemUWec9N5w
