Day 3 of withdrawal problem at Cryptsy. The worst wait for me yet...

As a result, I have been buying at MintPal, Bittrex and Coinbroker.io -- all deposits and withdrawals are quick! Coinbroker is literally instant.

I have been pleased with all of them. Still having Cryptsy withdrawal issues, so I went into the troll box and started asking questions about withdrawal problems.

You can imagine that I got an immediate response from the Admin trying to quell the issue. Evidently, they are doing some emergency back end (what a pun) work and it has messed up some withdrawals on some coins. Sounded almost like a triage type situation where since UNO doesn't do the volume of, say, DOGE, we got pushed to the back of the line...

Anyway, he / she alluded to the fact that the squeaky wheels get the oil. Perhaps we should all go on there from time to time asking people if they are having crypto withdrawal issues.  All an exchange has is its reputation. I told the Admin that the UNO community was growing very weary, very quickly.

Anyway, that's my Cryptsy update.

i don't go on cryptsy-chatbox because it is full of scum - 70% of people talking there is cryptsy-staff. They effectively control that box. No fun to use.

yes, i am having a bad day ... i am sick of being given the 'wait' and the 'run around' by literally everybody everywhere. Cryptsy is not worth halve the volume they have. Soon they will have all the time they need to figure out their 'issues' and 'growing pains'

These Uno prices are just too tempting, and bitcoin is just to cheap. I can't pass up this opportunity to lower my overall cpu (cost per Un) with some new money.

I moved btc to 3 exchanges today. Bittrex was by far the fastest to confirm my btc for trading; another feather in their cap.
The order book is looking better and better at Bittrex, with the buy depth increasing.  There is still very little Un to buy at Bitrex; just 2.5 btc of buys will move it to .01. I probably won't be drawing any big spikes, but I will be glad to catch drops for those who want out.

I am increasingly concerned with Cryptsy. I really hope they resolve their issues soon. I have traded their for a long time and have always liked Cryptsy.  This pattern of slow withdrawals, poor service, does not bode well historically for crypto exchanges. I'll gladly give them a second chance when they can resolve and credibly explain these problems.

I'm a little concerned at the low volume at MintPal. We don't want to lose that market. Sure, we could go in-house for trading, but major exchanges like MintPal give us good visibility, credibility, reliable addnodes, and provide price services to coinmarketcap, Cryptonator, unobtanium.uno and many other sites through their API, which further enhances Uno's visibility. I fully understand the risks of storing on exchanges, and I don't think all your Un should be on exchanges, but there's also a downside to having very little available. Where is the balance?  Let's not be so stingy with our Uno that our market becomes uninteresting to the exchanges.  It's difficult to get listed, but easy to get delisted.

if i don't have my coins in 48hours i will make a big thread about cryptsy. Because that's the time you need to redownload the chain 3 times! There is no excuse for having issues for 1 week +

My dog can run an exchange better than this.

deposits are on, withdrawals are off - for more than a week. Excuse me, what is this BS? This is exactly what coinex has been!

At this point there is no question about wheter cryptsy is hurting the value of Uno or not. For me there isn't even a question wether it is done on purpose.

Cryptsy is a rippoff - always was. Stop trading there alltogether. Poloniex and ccex are more reliable. Trade there. It's a rippoff! They rip you off in every possible way and come up with false excuses all the time and acting as if they were the best. They are not. All they are is full of it.

And stop selling uno on their markets. They will only open withdrawals when price is moving up, because i am right with what i said about surpressing it artificially with shutting down withdrawals. If you dump to them in frustration they won it. That's what they want.

I have seen them shutting down deposits for cinnni on that spike. And as i was going on their chatbox asking if they shut it down again so they can sell their own coins first and other people realized i was talking the truth all of a sudden they were asking everybody on the box who was missing deposit for cinni and everybody in the chatbox complaining got their deposit 2 minutes later. It is so obvious what is going down there, it's not even funny.

They do the same shit with all the coins. Now they do it on the down too with reverse-action, shutting down withdrawals to keep the supply high. Everybody with half a brain can see what a scam that is.

Stop trading Uno at cryptsy to protect your own profits!

Cryptsy isn't a place for coins at all. I am expecting that in the future they will come out and say they were a victim of a hack but made things right. Some crap like that. I think it will be something that plagues cryptoworld for a while. Exchanges and their issues. It is the reason banks are as secure as they are today. You centralize and advertise that tons of money are traded in x location, only a matter of time.

It just isn't worth the risk imo. With so many choices out there on where to exchange my coins, why even bother with one that is giving me issues? I can take my business else where. I will give it a second chance if they do come out and admit something took place but they fixed the issue, but short of that, wtf else could it be? I guess computer issues, waiting on parts to rebuild something or what have you. There is ALWAYS some other explanation, but none has been given so far.

don't be surprised when after a rally cryptsy shuts down deposits/withdrawals and naked shortsells your own coins to you.

Having too much trade/coins there is certainly not healthy for a coin. Please avoid having more than a healthy 20% of uno-trade-volume there to protect the value. Thanks.

My coins are still in limbo since a week. Support continues to feed me BS.

Cryptsy is good for buying cheap coin but not a place where a smart trader wants to sell.

I've seen the 0.9.5 Wallet listed elsewhere as Built by jyap, for OS X 10.7+:

How would I contact him?

You can PM jyap from here:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/jyap-332203

If you're not running OSX 10.7+ I'm not sure if they will help... You may want to store your UNO in a paper wallet until a solution is found, if you're itching to get them off an exchange and into your hands....

Hi everybody,

Just wanted to put (another?) call out for someone who would want to be a webmaster for our Blue Crypto Award.

It would be a simple list of our nominees with summary and UNO voting addresses that I would provide.  We hope to get the list to update - sorting with most-voted-for up top.  Not sure how a coder would work with the blockchain to do that, though.  The website doesn't actually mess with hot funds at all.

We will put out calls for nominees, and I would personally write fair summaries for each and assign the voting addresses, so the webmaster would just get data from me, almost on a daily basis for updating.  This should be a simple process for the webmaster, then.

Add typical UNO crypto info, like how to obtain UNO (exchange or wallet download) for voting, etc., and some UNO promotional graphics, and that's it!!!

Easy!

Anyone interested in this opportunity to run our website?  Do you know anyone who could reliably get the job done?

Would appreciate any help, thanks.  (Not looking for funding ATM, looking for someone who really wants to participate in the project.)

Thank you!

(P.S.  'Sent a nice PM asking learminer.)
Check PMs Wink

Unfortunatelly I'll be gone for a few weeks, so I cannot help within that timeframe. After that I'm all ears though. Good luck with the awards, its an excellent idea!

If someone else with some web dev talent can step up to do the hard stuff, I can provide hosting. A wordpress installation can be setup. Or a subdomain from unobtanium.uno can be configured to point anywhere you'd like.

We can undertake a unique INTERLOCKING set of practices that will firewall UNO's value from this -- how did we get here?? -- centralisation.

That is roughly the type of thing i think took place, only logical conclusion in my mind ;P Don't care really, because i got it now. Certainly telling people to avoid cryptsy though. Not that it will take much convincing.

I don't know if this is true or not, but the reality is that cryptsy is behaving like an insolvent exchange.  I've personally experienced ridiculous withdrawal issues on no less than three coins.  The fact that they expended so much effort to include USD infusions in the midst of these troubles, while having total shit customer service and no explanation about the issues reinforces my opinion.

If they ARE solvent, their customer service is shit and their wallets are poorly managed.  I still wouldn't give them a dime of my money.  Take your coins off and don't put them back.  I'd trust Mintpal and Moolah over them - and don't get me started there.

Didn't know whether anyone knew how fast the coinbroker.io withdrawals are. Kinda reminds me of the Jimmy John sub commercial. So fast, you'll freak! Wink

fast deposit and withdrawals are actualy what should be standard in crypto - i mean: if i wanted to wait for a transaction 3days+ i'd use wiretransfer  Roll Eyes

waiting for cryptsy now day 7 i think. I stopped counting.

Hey, it's only through grappling with Crypto Currency Apps, Package contents, ~/Library/Application Support, that I ever realised there was anything behind the desktop!

I used to know where most stuff was on my PC but judging by my works computer even Microsoft's file structure is becoming a challenge.

Managed to employ dumpprivkey and importprivkey into a new Wallet and loading up new block chain, so learning.

iMac still won't have the 0.9.5 tho. Cry

Hi Badaboom,

A quick word of caution, I believe the 0.9.2 version you are using is on the old forked chain and I would highly advise that stop using it. If you cannot get 0.9.5 working on your mac, we should contact the developer of the mac port to determine what the issue is. Does anyone know who developed the mac port? Someone correct me if 0.9.2 works...

Regards,
newbie

Here's my impression of Macs:

Woo hoo! People will treat me less like an idiot for advocating in-house trading.
Woo hoo! Pensioner Guy got more time to buy Uno.
