Note that the post above, the Daily Update, was made possible today by a techno-gizmo created by cragv. Kolossal Kudos.

Woo hoo!

Focus on the interconnectedness of It All, guys. It's not just Core-tanium.

It's core-tanium + the fiat liquidity for merchants that will be part of Core-tanium + DVC (soon to include equity DVC) + Un-Ex + the 'consultancy culture' + knowledge of and trading in bullion + tech support for newcomers + merchandising our own products + discounts for TTs + [insert your idea here].

The UNO community here are mostly long-term hodlers of this coin. In the event of a malicious dump on an exchange, most people in this thread would probably individually act in parallel to execution of the Core-tanium project by purchasing as much cheap UNO as they could get their hands on!

That's the function side of it. Certainly, from a psychological perspective (which is where I understand you're coming from here, IMZ), I like the idea of Coretanium being sort of like a sign on the front fence that says,

Warning: this exchange is
protected by Coretanium.

DUMPERS WILL BE NEUTRALIZED!

B.C.:

My Position:

(a)   These funds (your 1.0 Btc) are not gifts or anything like it! They are ‘ammo’ for ‘Core-tanium,’ the idea that a co-ordinated approach to dealing with dumps will rightly be seen by onlookers as the sign of a community to be reckoned with.

(b)   We shall keep the present four amounts (from me, Benefactor, SirSmokes, and you) in my wallet; but that henceforth, other amounts should be pledged in the same way that (I think) equity DVC will be, that is, the amount pledged and the wallet address are published (and become part of the Daily Post etc.); and each pledger is ABSOLUTELY on the hook to have the amounts there at all times.

Over to you

P.s.: whatever -- we got awesome enthusiasm!

I'll be low key today: the National Park up the road is in flames, and the house-clearing here is wreathed in smoke.

@ Benefactor: my apologies. I missed this post:

"Core-tanium should be used AFTER a dump, not before.  Thoughts?"

My naive thought was that Core-tanium funds would be used to -- remember last December? when Uno's price was drifting down to the .5 mark? About there: that is, in a situation in which the community as a whole wants to keep the price from dropping below a clearly-understood point.

What does everyone think?
@IMZ I hope that you and your house are safe!

In giving BTC to this project, I give freely with no anticipation of receiving it back.  That being said, I had envisioned the facility working in a fashion to stabilize UNO in the event of a potato-man attack.  The community agrees to protect a floor at X and a member who is a trusted and proven trader takes action to do so.

What to do with that UNO?
-Sell it back via UNO-Ex to replenish the facility
-Sell it overtime at on an exchange after stabilization occurs to replenish the facility
-Use it as bounties to solve problems (ie Android wallet)

just my 0.002 UNO

I feel like the market is going to ebb and flow as it wants, and we should allow it to do so, but if someone decides to depress price with a heavy sell wall, then that would be a good time to take action and allow the market ebb back to the up side.

but I'm not in charge tho

Cragv, thanks for the technical assistance! I really appreciate it!

It's my absolute pleasure to help Smiley

Yes. Good! So the Core-tanium funds are used to buy at a set price, kinda like a combined sell-wall by contributors. They get their UNO and the price is steadied somewhat. Is that about right?

Keep safe, Mr IMZ!

I'm not very good with computers, but I'd like to add the UNO-EX trader link in my signature like IMZ has. Could someone post what text needs to be implemented to make that happen in the sig?

Thanks!
Sure, just add this next to one of the lines on your existing sig:

Code:
  | [url=https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/14hftnJ_crV9flLcUKaPqwEfTLKJme3R8jVeUJtudQSw]Un-Ex Trade Tracker[/url]

Here's how that looks:  | Un-Ex Trade Tracker

(and you can bold parts of it with this code around it):
Code:
[b]words go here[/b]

-
Or, here's an updated version of the whole thing if you like it better:
Code:
[url=http://unobtanium.uno/]Unobtanium[/url] - The crypto commodity you keep! | [url=https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/14hftnJ_crV9flLcUKaPqwEfTLKJme3R8jVeUJtudQSw]Un-Ex Trade Tracker[/url]
Hate Inflation? You'll love $UNO

Hey thanks for that, Ian.

As well as visiting NXT.org, there's a thread on the NXT Forum called 'Installation and Update Tutorial'. Probably worth a read for anyone struggling with this... interesting application!

Hi community.

I'm about ready to set myself up a new wallet and Mark reminded me people are still feeling the pain with the NXT wallet and various NXT issues.

So I thought I'd put down the link

[link]http://nxt.org/[/link] and mention some quirks i experience using the wallet.

Downloading the blockchain can be quite a challenge.
Personally I don't know that its any harder than the BTC QT wallet with local ADSL2 being so slothenly but it does have a habbit of stopping. It generally picks back up on its own but being an impatient type I find myself restarting the client whenever it looks like the blockchain isn't moving. Sometimes less than 4 hours usually more than overnight.

Your public key is your password. Make sure it is long and complex, do not forget it.

Once the client is updated and you are logged in you may find like me some information simply doesnt show correctly.
When this happens I go to my web browser and load localhost:7876 and view my wallet from the browser. It just seems to work better and I really don't know why. This was particularly evident when issueing and moving assets around.

Please feel free to ask any questions or pose any issues you're having.

Great to see the new faces in UNO and UN-ex.

RE: DVC blank slot, there was a data problem today so I rewired the whole shebang. Took about 40 mins so there was an outage during the day. Tonight, I realised I overlooked the DVC part so have just fixed that. Thanks IMZ.
