I accept Trade Offer BeneD0010:  I have 14 UNO to buy 1 DVC

[and in this case, the ownership passes from IMZ to Benefactor without a DVC being transferred: thus, 3 of the DVC in my wallet are now B.'s]

Family members each got 5kg UNO and I used the offline cryptap.us walletgenerator.net paper wallet generator. Simple, painless and very easy to explain to them. Also got to explain the DVC and our very own Un-Ex here! Excitement enhanced by showing off BTS' Unobtanium 1oz silver bullion, too - they're all PM holders already so that was a bit of a buzz for them.

@walletgenerator-net: the paper wallet could use a URL for unobtanium.uno as well as a simple How to Spend, How to Receive and How to Import Private Key text box on one of the unused panels. This would only take 4 or 5 lines of small but easily legible text and would go a long way to making it more new-user-friendly. I made my own little how-to cards instead for these ones.

@cryptap.us: I should have used your paper wallet instead! I meant to but was so busy yesterday when getting this done at the last minute, I obviously did something else! I'll use yours next time Smiley

Have already read the AltMarket Dec update and I'm very much looking forward to 2015 and watching where the crypto scene goes! Have been following the main thread, too.

Cheers!

@ cragv: it's clearly time for you to get your DVC. As soon as you publish your Nxt wallet address (with 'public key'), Ian can disburse it.

Check this idea: "increase liquidity through shared order books." Falling Knife posted it on the main thread, and I really want to understand it:

https://altmarket.com/docs/AltMarket_Update_Dec2014.pdf

Paper wallets? Awesome!! I think some krypto hoomernz underestimate the importance of 'driving that first stake into the ground.' This community's stated commitment to newcomer tech-support was a factor I noted before I decided to join up. Just a coin or two is a real crypto experience, paving the way to further investment.

Trust-network of national chapters with liquidity pledges on an organised central location.

I'm in, that's amazing and I love the concept. Keep up the great work, IMZ and co!

Unrelated, I gave several family members a paper wallet loaded with UNO as a Christmas present yesterday. One is already familiar with cryptos (has dabbled in mining and held BTC) while the other two are always interested in investment and making their money work for them. There's genuine interest in significantly adding to their UNO holdings as they learn more about this brave new digital world!

Typing with one paw:

Hey, B.C.!

We see transactional volume as the Holy Grail for cryptos overall.

This idea is a national-chapters initiative -- P-WIPping is just too easy once the trust-network is in place!

So, suppose you want to save $2000 for a new stove for your kitchen. You're gonna put $200 a week in kitty over 10 weeks.

Could you hold most of that fiat in Uno for 9 of those of weeks? Probably not because you'd have trouble converting that much Uno into fiat when the time came -- unless the fiat capital was pledged to be available at that time by a TT who uses the same fiat as you

Note: the 'futureness' of this initial effort is a consequence of my lack of funds. Soon, there will be liquidity available on an hour's notice. B.C., Ian and I have been working on variations of this theme for well over a year. Ask me about 'merchant pre-exchange facilities']

So, as per the pledge, any P-WIPper in our Australian circle who needs to sell Uno for Oz Dollars -- without 'slippage' on Cryptsy, without fees of any kind -- will find amounts 'pledged.' [And of course, we see that this model is a sort of 'future-sells order book!]

In just a few months, IMZ expects something like this:

$US: Fred TT, $250; Belinda TT, $700; Gary TT, $300
$AU: IMZ TT, $400; Bob TT, $600; Joan TT, $250
Euro: etc. etc

m

P.s.: don't think of these projects -- Un-Ex, TT List, DVC, P-WIPping, a 'liquidity engine' -- as separate. They aren't. Each one interlocks.

The whole will be far greater than the sum of the parts.

Liquidity Pledges:

March 2015, Australia, IMZ Mark: $AU 250

Specifically, what is a liquidity pledge? Is it an amount held on an exchange in fiat? Is it to hold a certain amount of $UNO on an exchange? Which exchange? can you explain further? Glad to participate, just need to know how...

Thanks!

@ Benefactor: it is canny to not leave DVC bids up for long. They shift rapidly in price.

As we improve our trading-volume, the problem should resolve.

Received 2 ounces silver from BigSpaghetti today.
Received silver order from Coaex yesterday.

Great trades, both conducted in Unobtanium cryptocurrency.  We're so fortunate to have both of these guys in the Uno ecosystem.
