"Stratum+tcp://" what does having this at the beginning of the server address do?

It makes sure we're using TCP to connect via cgminer, my firewall won't allow UDP packets.

Is extranonce=2 because of nicehash/westhash?

Yep!

I'm curious what pool configuration people are using.

Currently I just use westhash:

Is there a way to optimize this?  For example; is it possible to set a fail-over pool if there is an issue with westhash?  Or to switch pools if another pool is currently more profitable?  I know you can set parameters in the password field but I'm not sure how to use this.

Absolutely there is.  I mine at kano's pool but I have westhash and nicehash set up if the rate is high enough to make pool jumping worth it, then I have two other backups just in case.

Did anyone ever try to underclock the SP20. Im starting to look at that for the winter.

What is the lower volt that the chip can take ?

Is 1th the minimum or we could go below and get less heat?

You can go below that, due to heat, noise and electricity costs during the day I underclock mine to around 900GH/s

Note:  I underclock 5 of my 8 SP20s using these exact settings and the hash rates vary wildly by box, the low is 890GH/sec and the high is 980GH/sec

Here are the settings I use:

Its pulling 505 watts at the wall with these settings (using a kill-a-watt) and there's very little heat.

Thanks Digitalmocking,

I'll do some digging to understand the 'p='  parameter.  I'm sure it's been covered on these boards Smiley

Philip explained it, my settings are so high that I'll only switch over if there's some kind of really high payout available.

Interesting idea. Is p=.0155 for a certain amount of hash?

This is the minimum amout of BTC/TH

If nicehash paid less then what you choose than SP20 switch to your other pool.

p = price you will get.

for todays diff  0.0103 is "normal"

I use 0.0123 I list westhash at that

then I list nicehash at 0.0122

the sp20e gui is nice as you can use a lot of pools.

Which LOOPs are front/back? For instance my LOOP 1/3 are running hot (120c) while LOOP 0/2 are fine (85c).

And what is the optimal way to decrease the chip temps? Decreasing volts or watts? Or both?

I understand increasing fans is an option, however I'd like to keep them low as to reduce noise.

EDIT: Assuming the front of the box is where the fan is?

You'll want to capture the result of the "ASIC Stats" page and post it here, and/or possibly under the primary/official Spondoolies thread.

maker and model of the psu? must be single rail, must use 16awg wires on the 6pin!!!
psu shutting down it's usualy because of too much load on it; might not the best psu and it needs an consumer on the 5v rail...
etc

Most are Corsair (the 4 550 and 1 850) the 1350 is Silverstone and 1 850 Supernova.  So I don’t think this is to do with the PSU?
