GPU mining is more energy efficient than X11.
More importantly the wallet and staking will be
lightweight for mobile phones.

Really a VNL Andoid/Iphone App that can stake ?

If so then Yeah Baby VanillaCoin is awesome !

I can't wait for the Android app for VNL  Smiley

I won't talk about the other points but I wouldn't advertise what's in point 5.
Having a publicly available gpu miner which can be largely optimised is not a good thing. It means only a few people will mine it efficiently.
The same happened to groestl coins: they advertised an energy efficient mining algo that in a few months became power hungry because of optimisations coming out at a fast pace. Of course some people had the faster miners almost since the beginning...
Reminds me to DRK..ahm Dash  Roll Eyes

Whatever, from my understanding the energy efficiency is within the PoS which starts at a later point. From the whitepaper reading it should be far more efficient than Peercoin and others.

Below are some project facts stated by the developer (john-connor) on http://vanillacoin.net/forums/viewtopic.php?id=385

--------------
Project Facts

1. It is Angel Investor backed.
2. It is my full time job working 12 hours a day 7 days a week.
3. It has 6 months of Research and 6 months of Development put into it.
4. It is developed by someone that has worked on every major peer-to-peer technology dating back 15 years.
5. It is the most energy efficient crypto-currency designed to date.
6. It is the first crypto-currency to encrypt all communications pathways.
7. It launched with a fair solo distribution algorithm by defending the network from superscalar symmetric multiprocessors, super computers and bot nets.
8. This is just the beginning.

C-cex wallet fixed. So when will i get my VNL back??!!

Please write c-cex support regarding this.

Three times so far. But they don't reply any of it

Try tweeting them or writing in the trollbox. As far as I saw support is only only a few hours / day on c-cex sadly.

You didn't lose anything, there is a visual bug in the wallet which makes it seem like you have more coins than you actually own. Staking work normally though, bug doesn't influence anything, but the POS is only 0.6%.

Fixing that wasn't priority yet.

Wait a second. That isn't a priority?

So if I think I have 20,000 coins and try and sell some off but I only have 2,000 then that isn't a priority to fix? How are we supposed to know what we really have? Keep closing and opening the wallet?

I agree that this is very, very big issue and should be resolved ASAP, at first I was enthusiastic regarding some new coin which is not just another clone and have very active dev but now it looks that to many simple things are not working as they should. I'm still holding my over 60k VNL but if dev doesent come out with fixes and new wallet his 'I'm the smartest guy in universe' attitude will hit him back in his head.

Hello,

I have been working with c-cex-yuriy on IRC to try and fix the issue with their wallet.dat. After reading the debug and error messages, we came to the conclusion that the wallet.dat has a corrupted or missing section, possibly due to the daemon being terminated before letting it flush data to disk. After attempting numerous repair tools on the damaged wallet.dat, I offered to compare C-Cex's broken wallet.dat to a working wallet.dat (empty one generated on my own computer) in a hex editor and attempt a manual repair of the wallet.dat. Please understand there is no guarantee that I will be successful in fixing the wallet in this way, and it is strictly best-effort.  Yuriy accepted the offer, and will be sending me the wallet.dat over a secure tunnel. At the conclusion, regardless of outcome, I will shred all copies on my hard drive of C-Cex's wallet.dat using the 'shred' command. I will also be in contact with the developer of VNL over bitmessage, john-connor.

Thank you,

Massive props for the disclosure and the resolution.

I have one VNL (more symbolic than anything) with your name on it whenever.  I don't think I have seen something like this posted on BTCtalk before...it's just pretty effing cool.

Yeah, that was a classy move.
