Bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme,
Most people joining cryptocurrency don't really know what crypto is all about, most of them hear people talking about it and they just decided to join to that's why at the end they always end up participating in ponzi scheme and they get scammed. If you are planning to invest in bitcoin, then you should be prepared to hold for long term because it's not where you will invest and you expect your money to pump instantly.

As a human being, you are expected to have a target in life every given year. As time proceeds, it just seems our efforts are not going anywhere (stagnant at a place).
I have read, followed and listen to so many people's advice on how to invest in bitcoin, and diversify your investment strategy but my portfolio is not giving me as joy as I anticipated at the beginning of this year. I know many people in this forum anticipated the same to make much money from crypto at the beginning of this year. My plead for you are:
1. Remove all the deadlines you gave yourself to avoid depression.
2. If you didn't meet up your target before the end of this year, just pray and work hard.

In all you do, endeavour to set a standard goal, and if you fail to achieve all, readjust and bounce back.

Life is short and full of exploitation.
Live yours like there's no tomorrow.

Breathe in and out we all still have a long way to go.
Do not give yourself hard time when it comes to investing. Its not that all your expectations are bound to happen, there are always flaws in every investment so we should always give considerations. If you did not get your desired profits and never meet your goals in time, so what? There are always next times for that. All you have to do is focus, and always do what is right and what is best to finally succeed in the end.

Because bitcoin is a long-term investment, you shouldn't have short-term expectations; otherwise, you risk being dissatisfied and disillusioned. If you invest now, you will be happy in four to five years. To avoid despair and dissatisfaction, invest your savings rather than money you borrowed or used for maintenance. Before you begin trading, it is a good idea to educate yourself on the market.

You have all the chances to adjust your target and set a goal that is only reachable within a year. Otherwise, you will keep on struggling trying to reach all your deadlines, and yet you still end up with nothing. That will eventually make you feel tired and frustrated, and eventually quit from crypto. However, if you want the other way around, then keep on working hard and be positive in all that you do. You cannot be a millionaire in just a day or two, but if you work hard every now and then, you will eventually see your success coming your way easier and faster than you think.
The first thing I think about a good investment is, you can't expect to get rich overnight. This means that we must have time and follow the dynamics which then require us to be patient before the target is achieved.

Having a target is justified, but achieving a target is not a certainty so one must always be responsible for what he does including investing in this volatile asset. Bitcoin doesn't guarantee instant wealth, but it has made people rich in erratic periods of time. We can expect to profit from price fluctuations, but there are risks involved.

I beg to differ with this statement. Deadlines are good. Deadlines help you to stay accountable. The thing I see with deadlines is that most people view it as a taskmaster to slave relationship. That is, if they don't reach the goal within a specified time, they beat themselves up to the point that it affects their mental health. If you are are setting a financial goal you want to list out what is in your control and what is not in your control. You also want to start with small financial goals. And then add more as you hit the small goals. Your goals have to be SMART.

One thing that 'appears' to work for me is taking right decision at any given movement. Deadlines/targets proceed worry/anxiety/depression while taking movement by movement, it just works out.

Live yours like there's no tomorrow.

No, not proportionate advice. It's like saying "opportunity doesn't come twice" but it's a terrible fact that some people fall into fraudulent investment schemes with high profit opportunities because scammers generally use those words. In order to produce great achievements, one should not limit oneself to short deadlines and only have a strategic plan.

I agree. This advice is akin to negligence, and keeping anything at all is out of the question. Divergence of logic. Grin

A very depressing post. OP, did you set a yearly profit target with bitcoin and some other shitcoins? I do not believe in the long-term holding of alternative coins, from the word "absolutely".

Also, how did you calculate that bitcoin would grow monthly and, thus, in a mathematical progression, you would make a profit?

I agree with The Cryptovator, until you see the profit you want, hold on. If you are limited in material possibilities, do not invest how much, on what your life depends on. But the fact that you will win over time remains undeniable, just in today's perspective, no one can say the exact date.

Bitcoin is a volatile and volatile asset, you should not put too much hope on it in the short term, put bitcoin in your long-term target, hold them now and wait for the next halving, I believe you will achieve your goal.
It seems very encouraging if everyone is able to make good profits in the long run. But the reality is that everyone has to fight against themselves about how they have good management of their investments. Averages are not strong enough to withstand a large correction or price drop that causes them to sell and take losses. The psychology of trading and investing that they have is not as strong as they hope in the long term, this will certainly determine the end result that is not worth it.

Short term or long term it doesn't matter, it just depends on the preferences of each investor or trader. Even some people like profitable future trading but with high risk, but to minimize risk, long term investment is the best option ever. Just don't be greedy.

Life is to have a goal, but we should not set too high a goal for ourselves, should know our strength, should not expect too much and then be disappointed. Should divide short-term goals and long-term goals and investing in bitcoin should not be classified as short-term goals.

Do not be a slave for certain deadlines and expectations as they are sometimes bound to be broken. Always be practical to see the realities about bitcoin, that it’s not going to be profitable at all times, as sometimes it needs a break too before it will start to surge again and skyrocket. That is the secret of the successful people in bitcoin, yes they have their own set of goals but they never create deadlines to reach it and make it happen. Patience will always be an essential virtue in the crypto market.

Expectation is really hurt. Sometimes we thought that we are going to achieve this and suddenly its not what we thought will happened. Well thats life, I guess. I already stop with that attitude and if the gains I am wishing given to me then I will be thankful, cause theres a lot of time I already expect and didnt receive those figures and earning an unexpected gains the least you expect it.
You don’t have to set expectations in such an unpredictable crypto market. Though bitcoin dominates it, but bitcoin is not perfect and also has its own imperfections. However, always know that bitcoin won’t frustrate us the whole time. Just never set deadlines and stop expecting much, that way you will not be often hurt. Just believe in the process of bitcoin, because in the end you will bound to make good profits from it, as long as you keep your faith and never quit.

If bitcoin does not works today, it does not mean that it won’t work the rest of the days. Bitcoin has its own flaws, so we have to deal with it accordingly. And the fact that bitcoin is good for long term investment, so don’t expect for quick profits as bitcoin is not a get-rich-quick scheme. You have to endure the bear season as much as its needed, that way you will always be profitable when bull season comes as everything you work hard for will finally reap off.

1. Remove all the deadlines you gave yourself to avoid depression.
You shouldn't set a financial deadline for yourself, but a financial goal or target. While setting a financial deadline can put you under unnecessary pressure, a financial goal can keep you focused and discipline. A financial deadline sends the message of-"If I don't meet up, I am a failure" but a target sends the message of -"I have hit my goal/target or at least get very close".

In all you do, endeavour to set a standard goal, and if you fail to achieve all, readjust and bounce back.
In all you do, also ensure not to set low standards for yourself all in the name of setting attainable goals, set high goals and targets for yourself that will keep you motivated all through your journey. Be easy on yourself if you do not meet your target or goals at fir trial after setting very high standards. A benefit of setting high targets and goals is that even if you don't get to hit them as planned at first, you achieve a very high level of success from trying to do so, and with a little more work and efforts, the high target that you thought was unachievable or be difficult to achieve will be achieved and you will gain the confidence to set higher ones.

Deadline for cryptocurrency? No way. Cryptocurrency isn't for impatience people. I am holding a few tokens for a long time. I had a target though but I leave it on Ledger. Not gonna touch unless I make some profits. Doesn't matter even not hit my expectations. And of course, there is no deadline. Just holding for profits. The only expected to make profits doesn't matter it take how long. That's why we say don't hold if you can't afford it.

I thought that by now people have learned that altcoins (tokens) are something that is not suitable for long-term investment, and that most of them will lose more than 90% of their value or will disappear completely within a period of 3-5 years (if not sooner). Those who are not up to the pump&dump schemes will very likely lose their investment - because investing in something that has no sense and purpose (and most altcoins do not) leads only in one direction.

This helped me remember a certain once told about a lizard who after falling from a great height, nodded to applaud himself in approval as no one around did. Life is too precious and short indeed to be worried about uncontrollable variables.
Goals are good and helps one stay focused, also failing to meet deadlines isn't reason enough to fall into depression. Learn and rebound!

and then try to re-strategize, plan adequately and try to know what are the major lapses you had, you must fish them out unless you keep having same result over time. also, some things were not by prayers but by principles, you need to make discoveries and stop working by error theories that does not matter, if you must see a good result, then you must discover the secret in why others are doing it well and improve yourself, you can't be doing it anyhow and expect same result with those doing it right.

Do people set goal on how much they wana have in a year?
I don't have idea that people do so and I personally do not do it. I set goal on;
The skills I want to acquire;
The lifestyle I want to discard;
The projects I want to accomplish;
How to have 1 or 2 more sources of income;
I do not hard code any amount of money that it's what I want to worth at the end of a given year.

But for crypto investment, if I tell you that bitcoin is not going to make you rich, the truth might be too raw and hurting to you but that is the reality. Bitcoin made early adopters millionaires, but it will make you live comfortably and not that kind of super rich you might envisage.

Deadline for cryptocurrency? No way. Cryptocurrency isn't for impatience people.

Or rather, investing in general — not just with bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. Something something stock market is a device for transferring money from the impatient to the patient (Warren Buffett quote); applies to bitcoin and crypto(some) as well.
