...Anyhoo, the derived market price is trading like a risky arbitrage play - a lot like a stock that's the target of an announced takeover which might fall through. What's fascinating about this stability is that the punters were actually slow to catch on to the Trump phenomenon. The aforementioned contract was a "screaming buy" right up 'til last New Year's.

It says I can buy a Trump yes for 30¢, what does that win me?

Trump "Yes" for what? From my last reading, a "Yes" for the Republican nomination costs about 70 cents.

EDIT:

Looks like my answer is in the fine print.

......Trump is a wanker, but the thing is, he's talking honestly and liberals and the left hate him for it and they are rabidly attacking anybody that disagrees with them whether they actually support Trump or not, that kind of hostility will always come back to bite them and what it will do is just push people to vote for Trump because the alternative is worse.

Think about it for a moment, people who spew their bullshit without thinking, why the fuck would you vote with a group of people who are smug, arrogant and try to paint you as a racist no matter what your opinion is or if you defend yourself? Not nice is it? I don't blame people who vote for Trump at all.....
Seems it's NOT just the liberals and the left who hate him for it.

Very curious things going on now.

Liberals who say they are leaving if Trump wins is about the biggest endorsement he could receive.

I don't like the guy but they keep doing things that make me hope he wins.

That's how I feel for fucks sake, Trump is a wanker, but the thing is, he's talking honestly and liberals and the left hate him for it and they are rabidly attacking anybody that disagrees with them whether they actually support Trump or not, that kind of hostility will always come back to bite them and what it will do is just push people to vote for Trump because the alternative is worse.

Not nice is it? I don't blame people who vote for Trump at all, if these arrogant socialites really do end up leaving America it could be the best thing that could ever happen to American poltiics because I do believe it is largely in part to these assholes that we can't have any discussion about important issues anymore.

Hell, I'm British and I'm fucking affected by it, we also have a much bigger problem over here with the kind of smug arrogance that we're seeing from certain groups who hold nothing but contempt for the voting public, the only thing people are going to do by attacking Trump is encourage people to support him, stupid smear attacks and insults won't work on this opponent, it is frankly, very entertaining to see.

A Win-Win for America!

Just o let everyone know, the implied odds for Mr. Trump to win the Pubbie nom have been quite stable over the last several days; they're centered around ~74%. As I write this, the figure's 75%.

http://predictwise.com/politics/2016-president-republican-nomination

Corruption in political reality is another matter than a pure statistical prediction. Lots of people have too much to lose if TRUMP wins. Lots of BAD people. I pray he has 1 000 000 000 Alpha Force Cosmic Angels. He will need each and everyone of them.

If the berniebots believe the clinton machine won't do the same thing to them they are wrong...

Trump voters are too stupid to look at the next column... obviously... nice clip-job on the image so you can't see Trump's name in the upper-right corner

Also note this is marked sample and in Spanish...

Do you have anything real or just endless propaganda?  Your sources for information are whorebile (note: I just invented this word and added it to urbandictionary just for you)

We'll see!

True story/Semi-Disclosure: I signed up with PredictIt on August 22nd of last in order to buy that exact contract. It was then trading in the mid-20s and I thought it was a screaming buy. Had PredictIt not barred me from trading because I lived in the "wrong region," I'd be sitting on about a triple right now.

As I've said before, Bitcoin is just in pocket-pool mode until a problem with the debt-based monetary system.  Not that a guy cannot make some decent money off it until then, but at that point it goes to undreamed of levels (if it survives that long.)  But these levels are only a good thing for those who have the skills and balls to touch it since it will become illegal overnight and VERY difficult to use.  Most people would be better off to have most of their emergency nest-egg in silver coins.  These will also be illegal, but much less technically complex to use and much more useful in keeping yourself alive.

In the above scenario, aside from outlawing Bitcoin, what other actions do you expect governments to take in order to obstruct its use?

Depends a lot on the country and on how much Bitcoin ends up being used.

It's actually fear of that sort which prompted Mike Hearn and his boys to decide to play nice with the government in '11. That's when he pivoted from the old-time bank-bashing and started to make a big deal about Bitcoin's open ledger and innate transparency.

I would expect that in some cases for a period of time getting caught using Bitcoin (or precious metals) as a currency will get you summarily executed.  A global collapse of debt-based fiat monetary systems and the implantation of a replacement solution will result in tensions and 'quality of life' changes which few can imagine.  Or at least they have that distinct potential.

If so, it won't do much good in the end. Did you know that, when the French Revolution was careening into the Terror, the government made using gold money a capital crime? As I hope you're guessing, that draconian law did not stop gold from circulating.

I would expect the global internet to switch over to an 'enhanced' protocol whereby another layer is added at the packet level.  This layer will add various kinds of metadata including personally identifiable information and license authorization.  That would provide backward compatibility and very straightforward filtering.  I only say this because it is the design which strikes me as a no-brainer and one which I would suggest if I were retained to produce a design for the so-called new world order.  To my surprise I have seen no suggestion of such a 'solution'.  Anyway, Bitcoin would have some adapting to do to overcome such a challenge.

Ok I don't like the morons claiming he attempted to kill Trump as it's not true, but how could he be applauded by anyone? He's just a dick who disturbed a public meeting. Not that I think what he did is especially wrong. But it's not good either, it's just a stupid action.
