Congrats Af_newbie -

To get the extra performance, did you manually configure autotune disabled from the problem chips and then set their speed to 0?

I have what feels like a newb issue, but not sure what to do.

Starter kit all set up.  I think everything connected properly, no lose wires and it matches other's install pictures.
But when I turn the power on (manual switch, I get a green light), it starts but my monitor's "Power" and "Menu" light just pulse on and off.  No picture on the screen.  Those lights never pulse.
I just took the monitor off a working PC and it's fine.  I did have to buy a HDMI to DVI adapter for the monitor but that should not be the issue.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

When you power on the raspberry pi you should see a red led indicating power and activity led light will flash at about the same time if your SDCard is inserted and detected.

If all you get is the Red LED then perhaps the sd card is the issue?

Thanks guys I'll try both tomorrow. Rig is not with me now. Is the Rpi light on the bottom or top?

Dave,

My chip #2, #10 are only hashing at ~0.25-0.29 GH/s  (with very large number of errors, 300% more than other chips)
They show "speed->0" after the last column in .stat.log

They are set as auto "AIfDSo 55"  like the others.

Is there anything that can be done to improve their performance?

How are the chips numbered?  How to map the IDs in .stat.log to the board?

You need to change your gateway IP address, save the file, and reboot the rPI.

You don't launch a web browser from the command line - just point a web browser to 192.168.1.249 from another computer on your network.

Redacted THANKS!!! changed my gateway IP to:
address 192.168.0.111
netmask 255.255.255.0
network 192.168.0.0
broadcast 192.168.0.255
gateway 192.168.0.1

and try to point my browser to 192.168.1.249, still cant get in ((((

thanks

The IP address is now showing to be 192.168.0.111 - point your browser to that IP.

Thanks everybody for help!! finally got my kit start hashing 25G+ THANK YOU VERY MUCH  Smiley Smiley Smiley

Do you have a mini-USB cable for any other device?  Cell phone, Kindle, iPad?  If so, take the rPI off the m-board and power it up separately using that mini-USB, see if it works running separately.

On another windows computer, just go into command prompt and type ipconfig. check what that has for your default gateway and use the same one for your raspberry pi.

Yep - you are right.  Could be either 6 or 7 with the issue.  Reflow both U45 and U46 as a starting point.

Thanks guys -- I am kind of a newbie with electrical engineering, but I am pretty adventurous and have been debating getting hot air rework station from sparkfun.
 https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10706
Seems like the easiest way to go for reflow.

Bookmarked.  Now if someone could just come up with an functional but inexpensive (USB?) o'scope link....

If the 6th chip is working, I think he needs to jumper the next set of jumpers to bypass chips #7 (U46), wouldn't he?  SJ 55, 19, 20, and 21...

Maybe, both chips should be looked at i.e. the 6th chip might not be passing along CLK/SPI signals. I pointed out the jumpers so that he what he was looking for.

It's been my experience with these boards that bad chips aren't common, but cold solder joints are all over the place. Reflowing these chips would be my first action.

I posted this in the European thread, but I thought I would try here as well.

------
To get my 25 GH, I received a card that is functioning at full capacity (~19GH) and an "EOL" end of line card with is running about 6 to 10 GH.  After looking at the stats.log, it appears that the EOL card is only seeing the first 6 chips.

I took some macro hi-res pictures of the chips 6 and 7 (45 and 46 labelled on the card), where the spi communication I am guessing is broken.

For the life of me, I don't see anything out of the ordinary.

The european thread seems more advanced at getting full speed out of these boards and was wondering if any experienced eyes see something suspicious.
-------
Anyone know any useful threads/posts on the pinout of the bitfury chips or which traces should be cut/shunted to bypass a broken chip... probably chip 6 as that is the last detected chip.

See my response in the other thread. As far as traces and jumpers go, look at SJ16,17,18,54
