I actually like Kerber a lot to win the US Open she has been playing some good tennis this year and currently is in good form leading into the US Open so I will be putting a small stake on her to win @8.60 but I still think Serena Williams @2.44 is the one to beat playing on home court. Olympics isn't a good form guide leading into a Grand Slam as most players don't worry too much about the Olympics. Before that in Grand Slams she has been playing good tennis so that's what I'm going by. I agree that Monica Puig is at good odds @30 and will most likely get far into the tournament but a Grand Slam is much tougher then an Olympics.
Well Monica Puig just lost in the first round in straight sets and just as I said Olympics don't really mean much and this just proves that you can't follow the Olympic form into a Grand Slam event. Kerber made it through due to the other player retiring.
Gasquet was a shock first round loss, apart from that all the other top players have made it through. Nadal, Isner, Monfils and it looks like Tsonga is also going to go through as he is currently winning 2 sets to 0
