If I would check their military capabilities based on "quantity over quality", neglecting their huge resources, I would say that China will win the war with the United States since it has large population to conscript their soldiers. As the history proves that the finest tactics in infantry is through mass human charge. If the basis is "quality over quantity", neglecting their huge resources, I would say that the United States will win the war since they have the modern and complex military programs, equipments, and troops. If we neglect all of the basis, I think that the United States will win the war since they have the air and naval superiority while the Chinese are land superiority.
I think the days when you win a war on foot at long gone. I imagine one nuclear bomb could take out millions of soldiers. The Chinese can have 200 millions soldiers. That still won't help them that much if they don't have the equipment. Rifles aren't going to be able to take on bomber planes or rocket launchers. You have to be able to move them all around very quickly and it would be good if they all had some heavy equipment to work with. In terms of technology, I agree, it seems that the US is ahead. They'd better be, considering how many trillions of dollars they poor into it!

I'm not so sure that China can defeat US, but everything is impossible in this world. Also China has incredible development right now.
China has become stronger economically stronger. maybe America could lose in the military
Usa has too many allies. But if china, russia and north korea was involved then things could become messy. I'm not sure uk could take on russia whilst we are taking on china.
America is certainly stronger. But I hope that will not happen, there are many examples of how countries experience a war crisis. Most of the victims are women and children

China have factories, which work with equipment from former USSR, which is also very old. So you can understand, that China is very, very outdated. China can may be manufacture bicycles, but as far as I know even medium level quality bicycle manufacturing for China factories was very large problem for many years. 
Why are you talking about bicycles!? China makes just about anything you can think about in the world! China is the 3rd largest arms exported in the world after the US and Russia. They have plenty of weapons and they keep making more. I don't see how it's relevant, but I'm sure they have very modern bicycle factories. Well for starters US just need to stop exporting food to China, and their economy will implode... Also decide that the debts US owes to China don't need to be paid after all.

US will win definitely not just because there military power or nuclear power but the experience they have gained over years of war
If there is a war most of the time US might win but china can do much damage than any other country did to US in the history
i'm not so certain that China can defeat US, but everything is not possible on this world. also China has terrific improvement proper now.

China in the last decade has indeed grown really strong. But we must understand that warfare is more than just guns and bombs. The US is highly experienced in evasive warfare. They have a stealth way of manipulating allies and making things go their way. And this is where they cannot be underestimated. Even in the case of an all-out war, there are still great chances that US would win. I mean they still have the greatest military expenditure in the world. Even so by a wide margin.
I think Russia can totally defeat both China and USA if it comes to war

I think no one will win and in the end only people all around the world will loose due to destruction caused by defense forces from both sides and will start world war three followed by cold war for years to come.
I think 10-20 years away china will shift the position of America as a super power state
