For me it is not a good thing that we are going to compare USD vs bitcoin because they are both useful and doing good to all of us. And besides the price of bitcoin is depending on USD so it is playing an important role for the exchange of the bitcoin. And yeah, I believe that too the bitcoin is going to grow and going to be used by people all over the world.

in my opinion bitcoin is dependant on the usd value. if USD value increases then people will change their currency into usd if it weakens then people will jump onto btc.

If you're talking about the "usd value" as in dollar index, i have to say i disagree. Bitcoin doesn't really care much for the strenght of the dollar. More over, Bitcoin doesn't care about most macro econ events - only thing I've really seen Bitcoin react to is the yuan devaluation.

well yeah bitcoins can be used for illegal stuff but fiat also can be used for that so its not a problemm

Exactly, if it is about popularity then bitcoin would not be able to beat USD that soon as USD has been around from centuries and bitcoin just came to being, and bitcoin is yet as popular in the world as USD it, but the thing is that bitcoin is getting too much popular and the reason for that is the advancement of the world while there wasn't this much technology at the time when USD came into being.

bitcoin will never replace anything. not sure why some people still think it's possible. bitcoin will remain alternative to fiat currencies for people that like to have financial freedom. the fact that there is no central authority, is what makes people scared. they can't understand how this is possible. these people will most likely continue to use fiat basically for ever.

I don't think bitcoin has the potential to replace USD as a regular currency, using bitcoin you have to pay minimum transaction fees unlike when you are using USD. The more expensive it become the lesser the possibility it will replace USD.

Well as my opinion also it does not. Why would bitcoin want to replace something that it is strong. It may be the other way around bitcoin will be banished by the US government so better not make a threat and stay as an option.
