Just as I thought and sad to say that I don't have any photoshop available in my desktop guessed that I need to find an alternative for that and thank you for that information but one more question and this is just out of curiosity, do you mess around the image size (in pixels/px) just to get the right banner image size? If you do what is the most appropriate banner size for forum? Because I only apply some banners and it adjust to according to the space of the forum.

I didn't mess around with the image size for the images in this thread, simply because when an image exceeds a certain size (I don't know the exact number but I think it's about 1800px width) the forum automatically fits it inside the borders of the thread. My banners were 2016x290px so I didn't need to do anything but if you need to mess with the size of an image you can decide how big you want it to be in the thread.

For example, Normal Banner:

1000px width Banner:

All you have to do is simply add "width=X" (where X is the number of pixels you want it to be wide) inside the image code.

Code:

[img width=1000]https://i.imgur.com/YOgTZGx.jpg[/img]

I hope I was clear enough!

I saw your post in Chinese, very good, the first collection.
A gadget that looks useful.
Try it later.
Thanks to the author of a topic. Some programs surprised me. Many projects do not provide their own files. We have to redo something.  I usually use Photoshop CS6. I apologize for my English.
Thanks for these suggestions, this could be really helpful

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate these comments!

I never thought that you can download an image covered with text in that way usually I always do what you have mentioned which is right clicking and click inspect element. Thank you for providing a guide on how to become a better translator however my attention was more focused on how beautiful your banner designs are. Would you mind telling me what program/software/site you are using in creating such good banner designs? Or did you do these banner designs in Adobe Photoshop?

Thanks for the compliment! I used Adobe Photoshop to create those banners, I simply chose a picture which I liked, added a gradient on top and then placed the text with a shadow effect

Thanks for the tool this will keep things easier I usually use screenshot before or right click on the image and then save, this tool is usefull, even though I'm not a professional translator I just try it once and the project is abandoned scam so I didn't try it again maybe next time I will be picky and investigate first.

No problem, that's the reason I created this thread, to show other people tools that they may find useful. If you have any problem with that extension this is another really good one for full page screenshots: FireShot

Thank you, All of my questions about what tools does the forum translator use had been answered. I'm a newbie and planning to participate on a traslation campaign.

I'm glad I could help you, my suggestion for you is to apply even for the worst bounties to start building your portfolio quickly (you won't find a lot of competition there). Apply just for the ANN and Bounty thread translation, this way you won't lose too much time even if the project sucks and the ICO doesn't reach their softcap.

Bookmarked! Thanks for the info but I have a question regarding ColorZilla.
How do we past the colour we get from a site into paint/photoshop etc?

It's really easy, when you use the Color Picker from ColorZilla and you click the color you want to replicate it automatically copies the Color Code to your clipboard so you just have to paste it in the Color Picker from Photoshop which will look like this

Thanks for the advice.

You have a button in the lover left part of topic you started, move topic | lock topic

Thanks again for the help, just moved the topic to a more appropriate section.

I think you may be right, maybe the Beginners & Help section would be more appropriate for this thread but I do not know how to move it. I'll look for a solution when I get back home later.

I'll check a bit if there is anything worth sharing from the way I translate. It is mostly just the way I am used to doing things and software I prefer to use. I am using mostly Adobe Creative Suite but there isn't a person out there who hasn't heard about Photoshop so that is not a real recommendation. I could maybe write a short Photoshop tutorial or something similar. But there are much better tutorials already present on youtube so don't know if it is worth the effort.

Oh no it's totally ok then, it's so full of good tutorials and guides regarding Photoshop. I was talking about less known things that can still come in handy, like an extension for a specific task. Those things make you save just a little amount of time but it quickly adds up. Thanks again for the help btw, I'll check for the "move topic" button later when I'm from the PC!

First of all thanks for the nice comment guys, I really appreciate them!

Thanks for the OP. I am translating for quite some time now both on bitcointalk and in real life so I already have my collection of tools/hacks to use. However, I am missing something for full page screen capture so I will try your recommendation for this.

It is a bit sad that we translators need to do stuff like this to translate project on bitcointalk. We should all get together and demand original/editable files for all the projects. Unfortunately that will not happen because there is too many translators out here only interested in making money and overall quality of translation/graphic doesn't concern them much.

I have recently done a translation for Depositary Network project and they provided ANN images in Illustrator and Whitepaper in InDesign. It was a real pleasure doing business with a team that understands that they have to provide us a quality material to base our translations on. There is nothing worse than translating a long Whitepaper provided only as pdf and full of errors. I try to chose only the best projects, I am not brave enough to even think how WP of weak project looks like.

In the end, this post definitely shouldn't be part of Meta section. Maybe you should consider moving it Begginers & Help or Altcoins service discussion.

Feel free to share some of your hacks/tools if you think other people may find them useful, I'll be glad to add them to the thread. I always thought us translators should help each other more.

I totally agree with what you said about the editable files but unfortunately it's pretty rare to find ICOs that provide them. Regarding the whitepaper I know what you mean, when I started translating I applied even for the scammiest/worst ICOs just to start my portfolio and some of those WP were such a nightmare, but as you said we don't have the power to complain since there will always be some other translator ready to take your job (especially those that do not care about editing images and whatnot and just leave them in English).

I think you may be right, maybe the Beginners & Help section would be more appropriate for this thread but I do not know how to move it. I'll look for a solution when I get back home later.

For Paint I am not sure if it is possible. For Photoshop it is very simple. When selecting the color of your element you just copy/paste Hex color code received from ColorZilla. That is the one looking like this #FF55AA (values of Red,Green,Blue respectively).
Example: white #ffffff; black #000000, all other colors are in between
