Although I'm not translator, I think that your article can be really useful to less experienced translators. But I think this thread doesn't belongs to Meta. Better move it to Altcoins board.

It's true that this is not for translator but might be helpful for others.
For me CSS viewer extension is a way2go.

A few days ago, while speaking with another translator I got to know because of many bounty campaigns we had in common, I realized that some of the tools I use and take for granted, were actually a pleasant surprise for him. I then thought that maybe the same thing could happen with other fellow translators. Therefore, since I believe that translators should help each other when they get an opportunity to do so, to create a more compact community, I decided to share with whomever may need it, some of the tools I often use to facilitate my work as a translator on this forum.

I’ll be more than happy to add to the list any other tool you think may be useful to other translators or to those who simply want to earn something by participating in their first bounty campaigns as a translator.

NOTICE: most of these tools will be related to the graphic part of the translations (image editing, screenshots of a website translated via inspect element and so on) since for the translation work itself there are not many shortcuts, except for being fluent with the needed language. I am well aware that theoretically us translators should not deal with any graphic task, but we often need to translate images without having their editable files hence having to resort to programs like photoshop, gimp or similar programs.

CSSViewer is a really simple tool, available for both Google Chrome and Firefox, which allows you to see the font name, the rgb/hex color code and a few other parameters of a text simply by clicking on the add-on icon and then hovering the mouse over the interested item. Very useful in case we were forced to replicate a text on an image without actually knowing the font name.

The easiest way to get a full page screenshot without having to take multiple screenshots of the different pages needed, and then merge them in order to create a single screen. Very useful in situations where the ANN thread we’re asked to translate is essentially made out of multiple screenshots of the ICO’s website, especially if the above-mentioned website has several pages to be translated and consequent screenshots to be taken.

With ColorZilla you can get a color reading from any point in your browser, quickly adjust this color and paste it into another program.

To many of you this tool may seem useless and essentially it is, in most cases at least. As easily understood by the name, Image Downloader allows you to download photos on any given website. Usually it would be enough to right click on the interested image and then hit “save image as”. Sometimes, however, the image may be covered by another element of the website, thus making it impossible to save the photo. The image in question could however be saved by searching the various .png and .jpg files with “inspect element” but using this extension will make the search much faster and more direct. Below I reported the screen of an example of image (the guitarist in the background to be clear) that I needed for a translation job but that the site did not allow me to download because of all the other elements that were on top.
