I've been seeing Thailand/bitcoin posts on r/bitcoin all the time. It must be very popular there. I imagine it is a fun country to have a vacation but the crime rate there is what scares me.

Also Thai Baht's symbol ฿ looks a lot like bitcoin's BTC so maybe that's the reason why they like btc so much.

You can party all night, drink and eat all you can and just pay with your bitcoin. Less hassle and a lot safer than bringing cash with you. Grin
The downside is that there are some remote beautiful places that has no internet connection.
This is the beauty of bitcoin where you can use it hazzle free if you are travelling a lot and every tourist destination must start accepting bitcoin for the convenience of the tourist. You do not need to convert to local fiat currency and all the obstacles doing that and the conversion charges, wish the culture of accepting bitcoin in tourist destination will grow in the future.

I was looking for some photos that can prove those places are being visited by OP though its easy to send some pictures caming from the internet (i am not saying that this is a lie just wanna find more realistic)
If only posting lies in this forum could make me rich. Cheesy I just wanted to share my experience about me spending bitcoin while on vacation. When it comes to photos of me and my friends, that's private.   Cheesy
Just spreading the good news to everyone who happens to stop by Thailand and wanted to experience using their bitcoins as a currency.
I understand that some of you in here do have trust issues, you need to deal with it yourselves.  Grin

I doubt you can find proofs for that since op didn't post anything we could base on, like if they posted some pics, we could've done reverse image search. Hence why I could only dug infos about if these places really exist and if they're really accepting bitcoin.

I do understand your point tho, also crossed my mind. The fact that its all text bothers me, but I'm not gonna jump to conclusions unless I have a strong evidence. and this post made me aware of these places, too so that's a good thing, but ofc I wouldn't like it if op lied.

Since there’s a thread that almost same as this but OP didn’t mentioned if he Literally use bitcoin to pay the vacation, heres the thread https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/thank-you-bitcoin-5100141

It would've been mentioned if they paid bitcoin directly for their whole trip since that's another great story, I doubt the op in that post would overlook it.

They're similar in a sense that both "trip" and "bitcoin" played a big part but I wouldn't say "almost the same".

Cryptocurrencies are a perfect solution for people who are travelling. Why keep using currency exchanges all the time (or use the card and pay high exchange fees), if you can have one common in the whole world?

This is by the way how the coin currency had been used when coins were made out of precious metals. You could pay with a golden coin from England in Italy because gold had some universally acceptable value.

Wow, that's amazing.  Shocked
I just found out that in Thailand we can use Bitcoin as a payment. Yeah, I think it's really cool. Because in my country, it's not allowed to use Bitcoin as a payment.
I think Thailand is a place I must visit, surely this will be very fun and I can feel how to use Bitcoin as a payment. Yeah, I will vacation in Thailand.  Cool

Yeah I just know that Thailand accepted bitcoin usually for developing countries the government is a bit narrow mindes about crypto, its amazing that we can used bitcoin freely in the country, hopefully another country will follow soon, so we can having vacation with only a single currency, it will be an awesome experience

Since you are about to travel around and spend your cryptocurrency means you are rich out of crypto and you have been in the game for a very long time ,I'm a newbie and I haven't make a dime either from my holdings or even bounties but I hope one day I will be able to explore the world using cryptocurrency

Or maybe he is just a wise investor and did sell on the top and keep buying in dips? So this post just shows that everything is really possible, and Bitcoin can be treated as form of money and you can easily use it whenever you want as long as the country to visited is crypto friendly. Obviously, Thailand is in Asia, and we all know that lots of crypto friendly in other Asian region as well and we do hope that other countries will really open their doors to crypto specially tourist destination.

It's nice to know that another country like thailand already adopt this system, exciting to know that it really can be done if mass adoptions happen, with what OP's statement, it will lead bitcoin lovers to visit the place and experience not only the fun but also the actual process where bitcoin was been used
as a payment form.

Though I don't have that much of bitcoin but if in anyhow I'll be lucky to visit that country I'll also do the same thing, expending my bitcoin with
a real use on my everyday life around that place.

Everywhere the bitcoin growth keeps progressing, and the same has lead to the adoption on Marketplaces. Recently Indonesia and Philippines has got an increased user community using bitcoin. Vacation locations accepting bitcoin is good, because it'll be the center for the people from all over the world. This gives a positive impact on bitcoin on users who have never used it.

And I guess the money you spend in going to Thailand are profits from trading?  Grin

Asian countries are very welcoming the future of money. It was Japan that I thought Bitcoin started because of the name Nakamoto, though its unsure he really is a Japanese. There were regulations set in this region like in Singapore which we see today there are cryptocurrencies created in these countries.

What a greate experience using bitcoin while enjoying your free time. Such practices will increase the incomes of firms or companies and, from a broad perspective, will have very beneficial results for countries that allow such practices. Because bitcoin offers limitless ways to make business for firms or companies.

The first thing I think when I hear some countrys people have adopted crypto easily is that they must not have trust at their own currency. Just like Venezuela people turn to crypto because their own coin is worth nothing at this point. But crypto adoption is a good thing no matter for what reason it happens.

A pleasant experience for you, I personally have never planned to take a vacation out of the country for many reasons, which in general I also do not vacation often. Maybe in the future by looking at your story I will plan something to visit places that we can spend bitcoin there without requiring cash as it should be.

Nice! I won't ask for proof since I know Thailand it's very crypto-friendly and there's A LOT of places where you can use btc, but It'll be great if you can share some more details like how long did it take for them to confirm your payment? Do you have to wait for 1 confirmation on your tx? or once the tx is on the network you're good to go? Also, do you know if those merchants were using a third-party service like Bitpay?

Man, Thailand might become one of the biggest bitcoin hubs in Asia. Things are going so well for crypto that even the Stock Exchange of Thailand wans to trade bitcoin[1].

Oooo cool! Not gonna lie, I haven't used bitcoin in physical stores. So how did the whole process go? How many confirmations were needed until your payment was recognized? How long did wait?

I haven't been to thailand nor heard of those places, so I had to search if op is actually telling the truth and yes, they do accept bitcoin. Gonna leave the links here in case someone is the same as me.

I have seen a lot of companies , store and even online who now accepting bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. This kind of adoption cryptocurrency through using in payment method can really have huge impact in bitcoin community because the tendency is many people will buy bitcoin and the demand will increase so that price will increase as well.
