#3    Litecoin    $ 546,191,687    $ 21.49    25,416,904 LTC    $ 4,963,507    -1.41 %
#17    Vertcoin    $ 4,244,540    $ 2.91    1,459,600 VTC    $ 490,396            +375.19 %

$ 21.49 per coin for Vertcoin is not unreasonable at all.
There are 17x more Litecoins.

It might take awhile but it's not unreasonable in a couple months.
Pure speculation of course but look at DOGE. And DOGE is just for fun.

We can eat the multipools coins all day. Let them come.

edit - I just realized that this coin will encourage people to start making new coins that actually
do something new. VTC is being rewarded by the market for being innovative.

You are not right..I saw multipool mining many times coins like Lotto which also have 1 block diff retarget..At the moment VTC is 2-3x more profitable than doge, so they would mine it for 24h (or whatever profitable period until they kill any buy supply down to non profit level), dump the shit out of it and come back in a week or so for another portion Smiley truth is that this coin is the HARDEST to mine for multipools but just don't say it's multipool resistant because it isn't.

to be available to multipool users they would make you install a custom executable for the multipool, that can handle a N-factor issued by the pool.
AND you would require the user to test a different config for different values of N.
AND the multipool guy would have to leave out all the hashing power from the upcoming ASICs to do this.
when this will happen we'll have every single gpu miner on the planet and multipools scrypt will be only asics...

yes it's all circumventable TODAY with good skills and programming, but would require LOTS of testing and risks from both the users and the multipooler.
it is VERY unlikely at the moment. at least until Vertcoin is well estabilished.

when vertcoin will be well estabilished, hopefully we will have a large userbase and hashrate and people will want to hold vertcoins, not sell the instantly for BTC...

0.0035 and few are selling.

There is some magic on this. And I feel it.
This is the first Altcoin that solved a real issue. For once. And that work is being rewarded.

And hey.. multipools can only mine 29k coins per day even if they had the whole days hashrate.
And guess what --- People will eat those coins alive and ask for more. Look at the volume. It
doesn't matter what multipools do. Who cares. This is the real deal. That is why the prices keeps
rising. No one is selling and even 100k coins would not satisfy the demand.

By the way this is mostly China buying right now at this hour and some europe. So that means you guys should immediately
send out e-mails and tweets to all the big Chinese exchanges and offer to help them get VTC
listed.

VTC maybe is Asic resistant for now, but surely multipools can pick it up. You just change name of .exe file to cgminer and cgwatcher can handle it, so why multipools wouldn't be able to?

Anyway it's the first coin I mine and hold and hope for great future!

AFAIK the reason why its not profitable for multipool is that the difficulty changes every block.
Multipools hop on "easy" coins to make profit and leave as soon as difficulty changes. But VTC difficulty would change instantly. compared to LTC which would take ~2-3 days

It being harder to multipool mine is what resistant means.  No one is saying it's impossible for multi-pools to mine, just that it makes it harder.

This blog post explains very well the situation with multipools and VTC:

The only thing I don't like about this coin is that I can't mine it. My PC hangs/crashes whenever I run the official miner.  Cheesy

Looks like China is going to eat through the sell walls at 0.0025 on coinedup.com
Walls almost halfway down. Here we go up to 0.003 soon.
And this time there is buy support in the low 0.002s.

If MOON got to a 6 million cap then VTC should be at least that. And Vert is not even on Cryptsy yet.
Coinedup is proving itself to be a large exchange in it's own right.

But this really is something different finally.

VTC > LTC > BTC

Vertcoin is faster than BTC and ASIC-proof which LTC is not.

It's poetry. Never felt this way about a coin. I may not even sell this one at all.
I might marry it.
