Bump to remind everyone to vote at the CoinedUp reddit. Network hashate and difficulty rising again - next difficulty will be almost triple the current.

Thank you all of you guys for making Vertcoin getting into the Market Exchange.

It's the least this coin deserves with this level of innovation. Makes a major change to all the clones we see every day here.

Yes, this is too high TC - you'll have to try 4096 I think. How much RAM does the machine have? Once cgminer is running, it doesn't use much system RAM at all, but on startup it does use a lot for a few seconds as it preps the data to send to the GPUs VRAM, and high TC won't run if system RAM is too small.

Thnx got it. --thread-concurrency 2048 --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-engine 1100 --gpu-memclock 1000 --gpu-powertune 20 -w 256 -I 13 -g 1
That's nice config - about 171 khash

Excellent.

WOOT - WE'RE GETTING LISTED ON 0daycoins.com - First exchange for VTC

Cryptsy here we come!

Coin was released 2 days ago and now it hits the first exchange.
Wow, thats really fast  Smiley

Excellent work.

this should go to Con Kolivas, he has written the original cgminer.
I have only done some small changes for vertcoin (until now...)

im sorry to anyone who has lost coins

may i suggest you use autopayment set to lowest possible from now on

it doesnt 100% stop pools from robbing or if they crash losing your coins but it will cause it to be less brutal if it does happen

also if you havent checked us out IRC FREENODE #vertcoin  stop in and say Hi  Smiley

if you dont have irc or are not sure what it is https://kiwiirc.com/client/irc.freenode.net . this client will connect you to the service just put vertcoin in channel name

Why I've got only 7 Khash (!) on 7850 card? I thought it wasn\t that bad...

You should be seeing maybe 200KH/s or maybe 175 if this is a desktop and you're using lower intensity to keep using the PC while you mine - post your settings and we'll help you tune it correctly.

My settings was --thread-concurrency 12404 --lookup-gap 0 --gpu-engine 1100 --gpu-memclock 1250 --gpu-powertune 20 -w 256 -I 18 -g 1 And mner won't work? so I deleted any settings (I thought that would reset to defaults lol) anyway, whats wrong with my settings?

please try using lookup-gap 2
everything else looks OK, perhaps try also to increase --threads concurrency (if you have a 2GB card)

and sometimes (after starting cgminer several times, e.g. for test different settings) my windows has serious issues with my 5770, getting very low hashpower and desktop is extrem laggy. I think this is a driver issue.

But this occurs also with the original cgminer and scrypt.
Only reboot helps if this occurs.

Bufius are you aware if the cpu cgminer gives better performance than wallet mining? Just an academic question really at this difficulty, but interested to know

CPU: [email protected], all cores used.
test for ~5 minutes each

mining with wallet: ~2500 hashspersec
mining with cpu cgiminer: ~4.5kh = 4500 hashpersec

-> yes, the cpu cgminer seems to perform better Smiley

AND: with the wallet mining and all cores used, desktop is very laggy. With CPU cgminer everything is smooth (or at least only a small / not noticeable lag)

Excellent work.

OK, I know that lookup gaps !=2 reduce performance. Try removing lookup gap and running with everything else the same - what are your results then?

Bounty Manager
At present the CPU miner give perhaps a tiny bit better performance (say 5%) than the wallet but it does of course let you pool.  GPU mining is going great though and with the launch on exchange this evening it's a good time to start mining!
