Dear community,

We are excited to announce that we are continuing work on VestaCoin and have high hopes for the future. We are sorry for the lack of communication. There have been some personal issues that had to be dealt with before moving forward with this project. We are, however, happy to announce that everything has been sorted out and progress will continue to be made. We have some exciting things to announce so lets jump right in.

1: We have brought on 2 new team members specifically to help manage social media. (Discord, Bitcointalk, Emails, etc)

2: We have been in contact with multiple exchanges and are working very hard to get VestaCoin listed to give the community a place to buy and sell.

3: The team has had multiple meetings and have decided on some very interesting use cases for Vesta including online shopping, online gaming, mobile application for payments, and a few other ideas. (More details coming soon)

4: We have also decided to put a lower priority on MasterNode development and distribution until we gain more momentum. We believe that right now, in our early stages, we need to build up the community first. We need to provide use cases and value before anything else. MN development will be continued however we are exploring a possible algorithm change. We have managed to get a very basic form of POS working within the Cryptonight code but we are not certain that MasterNodes will be possible. We will continue to work on and update the community on the current situation. You can expect more details in the new roadmap when it is published. We are simply applying more effort to other areas of this project and community that we believe will be a better use of our time in helping this project succeed.

5: We are currently working on creating a better and more detailed roadmap of exactly what our goals are for each quarter of this year. We are very excited to see Vesta and our community grow.

As noted in previous announcements, Vesta currently doesn't have a means to create income at this moment in time. As a way to raise development funds to accomplish the goals we have set, we will be hosting a Special Coin Sale. This sale will allow the community to acquire VEST at a discounted price (Before it gets listed on any exchanges). This will also allow the early investors to gain larger amounts of VEST so that  when we do implement MasterNodes, they will have the required amount of VEST.

The funds raised from this Sale will be used as follows:

  • 30% - Listing on Exchanges.
  • 30% - Use case development (Online applications that allow users to spend and use VEST)
  • 20% - Application development (Mobile application, Online store, Online gaming)
  • 20% - For VEST development (MasterNode Continued development, QT wallet upgrades, Improvements to the core code, Vesta Website updates and improvements, etc)

During this sale, the prices of VEST will be as follows:

1 - 1.000            VEST = $0.30 ea.
1.001 - 10.000    VEST = $0.25 ea.
10.001+             VEST = $0.20 ea.

To participate in this sale, please join our official discord here: https://discord.gg/hB5V8YK

Our goal for the Sale is to raise enough development funds to AT LEAST get Vesta listed on an official coin exchange. We have decided that this is our first priority. This will allow the community as well as our team to determine what sort of market value we are capable of and planning accordingly. We are very excited to be working on this project again and would like to thank you, our community, for sticking with us. We value your say and would always love to hear from you if you have any questions or comments.

As a community builder, we have decided to give away 10.000 VEST to a member of our discord channel who we see helping build the community. The goal with this giveaway is to help create a helpful and kind community. Try your best to help VEST grow and you might be the proud owner of 10.000 VEST. If you think you could play a crucial part in helping VEST grow, feel free to send a message to us here or email our team at:
[email protected].

We wish all of you the very best. Stay tuned for more announcements and updates in the following days.

All the best,

- Team Vesta

This is something that I would find useful for the kids, and the wife being a teacher would use also.
Looking forward to it.

Thanks!! Most people are in this for the masternodes. Its a breathe of fresh air for someone to appreciate the purpose of the project.

UPDATE

It has been a busy week for us. We have been working hard nearly around the clock to try and get the new features added to the coin. Starting with a basic base allows us to do a lot more with the currency but we have found the drawback has become how time consuming this has become. We understand that all of you are getting very excited and want the new features but progress takes time and we want to be absolutely sure that everything is perfect for you!

Difficulty Targeting
We have found a few bugs in the way difficulty targeting currently works and have employed a solution to allow for quicker adjustments. You may have noticed this and not realized- pool hashrate is higher then network hashrate. No, this is not the pools fault it is the network. It does not affect payouts and you are still generating blocks its just a matter of cleaning some of the code up and changing a few things. You should be able to expect this to be in a near-future update to the wallet.

Importing Keys
We hope all of you have had success with recovering your funds from the cryptomoneros paper wallet generator. We are very grateful to have had a community member step forward and offer something to windows users and others who did not know how to compile a linux wallet. Currently we are working on getting the fixed code ported over to the wallet GUI for all of you. As the code is right now, its very rudimentary and clunky to use. Again we would like to thank all of you for being as patient as you have with this, we understand its not easy knowing if your coins are secure or not.

Exchanges
We have received replies from a few exchanges and will hold a funding round this Sunday to procure funds for listing. Masternode coins will be auctioned on Sunday and used for the listing fee. We hope that each of you are able to contribute to the funding rounds and look forward to working with all of you. We will begin with 10 masternodes for sale and depending on demand from the community we may hold a second round of auctions.
Info:
Masternode auction begins SUNDAY at 3:00PM PST

Masternodes
Ah yes, Masternodes. What all of you are here for. The good news is that developers are making great headway and basic functionality should begin testing next week. This does not mean they will be functional and released, there is still quite a bit of work to do. This is currently our main focus and we look forward to being the first cryptonight currency to fully realize masternodes. Developer talks and current circulating supply suggest a higher MN cost than originally anticipated, we hope all of you understand and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. The good news is the network is still small so there is plenty of time to mine the coins yourself before masternodes are here!
