Putin has got a taste of acquisition now, though. So expect more Crimeas in near future.
Crimea was able to join because it has autonomy, it's a republic with own government and constitution. Only such type of subject could be joined through this schema, that's why we see no "russian spring" in the east of the Ukraine. Despite the fact that there are very large number of supporters of this outcome. There are no autonomous subjects in the eastern ukraine, so local supporters should to create this entities to make the joining possible.

When the votes reach 100,000, Putin has the legitimacy to go in and annex Alaska back to the motherland, while Barack rains sanctions and warnings on his head. All Hail the Great Leader!
Don't you think this is rediculous that Putin is going to 'return' Alaska in case if people who live there are willing to join Russian Fedaration? Don;t you think it can allow other countries to do the same shit ?

Wasnt taken by war, so why should USA, did the Russia Gov a favor and give back to Russia when it was sold to the USA.
See agreement about preservation of LAW and moral rules.
