Anytime I need something on Amazon I just buy using my Purse.io account. With Purse Instant I get a 5% discount and free Amazon Prime two day shipping. Never had a problem, I outlined the process with screenshots here. If you are going to buy from Amazon anyways why not use bitcoin and get free two day shipping:)

Good post with screenshots. Smiley Currently should be peak period for purchases. I shall wait till the holiday season is over.  Grin

RIP: S5, A faithful device long time
This is just a fantasy of mine.

Since the split of ebay and paypal, buyers have been looking forward to more payment choices. I wonder if bitcoin is one of the considerations.

Amazon buyers with bitcoins have been using purse.io to get cheaper goods. I wonder how the implementation of bitcoin payment is going to impact the prices of bitcoins.

Hope stores are open 24/7 when the stores opening is released in January 2016.

No i don't think both of them will ever accept any cryptocurrency or any irreversible payment processors like perfect money.
They will not try to change their current policy regarding payments only to accept bitcoin.

Perhaps when you buy ebay items provide negative feedback "seller does not accept bitcoin" , maybe Eeebs will get the message?  Roll Eyes
Bitcoins is spreading very fast in the world. The time will come very soon when all the online purchase cane be happened with Bitcoins. EBay and Amazon will also accept Bitcoins in the future. Bitcoins information is spreading like a bullet train.

I am not so fond of ebay but Amazon should definitely adopt Bitcoin payments as they have many offers running from day to day and they are the best online shopping portal in my country too. It is easy to get Amazon gift cards for BTC but it would be better if I can pay directly on the website with blockchain as it makes the transaction easier.

Amazon & eBay BTC acceptance will not impact BTC price in general, because BTC will expand mainly through bank system in future  Wink

Come to think about it, there were more news about new merchants accepting bitcoins in 2014.
Those news are seldom heard now... Are there more (or less) businesses accepting bitcoins?? Many come and go so I guess it is the consumer adoption that matters more.

you can already do that via a middleman who is willing to pay in credit card funds... I think Purse.io can do that already.

But I would too like to see amazon accepting BTC purchases directly. that would be very convenient.

Not only anonymity is a huge issue, the non refundable feature also plays a bit role in not being accepted. What many of users here think it's an advantage of BTC, it's actually huge cons on adoptability.

Refunds can be sorted out on site (eBay can act as a temporary escrow per transaction) I guess. Anonymity is the bigger issue because even if you make someone register, the company can't really trust where the money came from compared to PayPal, CCs or bank accounts.

After Amazon and PayPal have split they should not be mixed. Do not be surprised if at one point Amazon will create a new payment sytstem and the bitcoin will be one of the options.

It might trigger a rally for a short time when Amazon states that it will adopt Bitcoin, but I'm not really expecting this to happen. If Amazong happens to adopt Bitcoin, then it's cool, if not, then it's fine too. As some other people here mentioned, purse.io is a great alternative with nice discounts on your purchase. No need to wait for Amazon, start using purse.io and you'll be fine.

Most of us wants to deal directly with Amazon and eBay and pay without using a payment processor or middle man. These guys just scoop up extra fees. I have used Purse.io and

I am happy with their service, but I would much rather buy with Bitcoin directly.  The discounts are the best part of the deals, if you work through them.

In some countries you are allowed to drink and you can legally drive a car at 18, but with purse.io you need legal supervision. See this part in their ToS :

" if you are between the ages of 13 and 18 (or the age of legal majority under applicable law), you may only use the Services under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms. By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you are 13 years of age or older. "

Does Paypal accept bitcoins too now? I know with Neteller you can deposit bitcoins and use their virtual debit cards to shop online. I haven't seen any bitcoin options in my Paypal tabs.

Paypal dont accept bitcoin and i doubt they ever will. Its pretty much direct competition for them.

Edit:- or maybe im wrong on this, i just checked and am reading some things about paypal/biitcoin. Can anyone confirm?

I am not 100% sure but I think Paypal offers the merchants payments in bitcoins, but not to the general public like to load your Paypal account with bitcoins and get it exchanged to cash. I am very intrigued to know if I can load my Paypal account with bitcoins right now.

So would this work,

Any payment i get paid into my paypal account by ebay sales i can have paypal convert it into bitcoins and then sent to my wallet? If so that would be amazing.
