Amazon.com must the how beneficial bitcoin is for their shops. They could easily get 30% more revenue just by promotion bitcoin as one for their payments gateways.
+ it would be a good PR, since a lot of news portals would write about it.
Well I remember reading that users who pay with Bitcoin actually decrease a company's revenue, since we are "More likely to re-think" our purchases before we go through with them, and thus apparently cause companies to generate less revenue than what they would normally get.

I remember reading this on a thread about Newegg or Tiger Direct, however, so it might be different for different companies, but I think the same concept remains the same.

Do you have a link to that article or analysis piece?
I found it, and it's a satirical subreddit that seems to really have a boner for hating on Bitcoin.

I am not a clever man, and I really need to remember to read the various content pieces more carefully. A link to the direct post is;

I would ignore it, but if you really want to read it it's one of the replies to the top post.

I am just waiting for Amazon.com to accept Bitcoin. Even if eBay allow Bitcoin payment the process will be very difficult - you need to have a verified paypal and etc. Amazon.com is easy and simple. You can shop at Amazon.com without giving any credit card or banking details. I already bought a few things from Amazon using gifecards I bought via Gyft and eGifter using Bitcoin. As of eBay, I only bought a thing from All4BTC with 7 USD service fees!

I remember someone on this forums said that he/she asked Amazon.com live chat person about integrating Bitcoin payment. And the person said that they will consider. However that is like three months ago.

I did not expect so much responses. Hope Amazon, eBay or Bitpay see this. The current sweet spot is btc loaded credit card - not too bad.

I agree that buyers are looking for more options as far as payment methods, but I do not think that they are going to put a payment method in place which will not protect the buyer.  Unless they are going to use some sort of escrow service, which I do not think to many sellers would be willing to use, they will not put Bitcoin into place.  This is just my opinion.
I totally agree with you if I am a ebay buyer I will have second thought buying from a seller using bitcoin since there is no way to dispute the transaction if somethings goes wrong especially if the seller don't have much feedback or just a one time seller, there should be an escrow service if ever they will accept bitcoin as one of their payment flatform

This will feel pretty damn good if/when this day happens. I feel ebay will accept bitcoin before paypal though for obvious reasons.

Ebay would never accept bitcoin, since they own paypal. Amazon will try to either launch their own crypto currency or implement bitcoin.
In 2016 i am confident Amazon will show us what their choice will be.

Both Ebay and Amazon are shop-window e-commerce sites to make multiple vendors who satisfy certain checks findable and trustworthy to innumerable e-customers.
What I think we need is for BTC to be accepted at wholesalers and factories so that an item on Amazon sold for bitcoin can be restocked for bitcoin.  That could possibly remove the hardship caused to workers by the fluctuating $ used by wholesalers in legal agreements with productive countries.

Who is in favour of it being possible to buy a Kindle and e-books for BTC?
Are any writer/publishers in favour of getting BTC for (c) material?

i also would love to see amazon accept bitcoin payments at some point in the future. but i am sure there is a reason why they haven't already. it could be the lack of people who are actually spending their coins, or the blocksize.

Dell and Microsoft accepted bitcoins in the past for a short period. Why did they stop accepting bitcoins? It could be a case study of adoptability of bitcoins.

Do u have to submit your ID when u make payment with bitcoins on gyft? My cousin was asked for her ID when tried to purchase items on gyft with credit card.
You don't. You can enter anything in the common fields found when registering at websites. Gyft is actually very good with Bitcoin (I've used it for a few hundred $ of gift cards).

Are the major btc payment gateways such as bitpay pitching themselves to the major sites?
I'm pretty sure that a lot of people have suggested both Amazon and Ebay to start accepting BTC, not sure about the gateways though.

Thank u lauda. Perhaps we are not buying from within US. I will try it myself.

Bitpay which claims to be the largest btc payment gateway should market itself aggressively towards the big sites. Maybe they are already doing that.

I hope bitpay IPO soon. It has potential.

Anonymity s the issue here. As long as you can stay anonymus and ripp off people, no big merchant ll accept BTC. This ability to hide identity s absolutely the biggest shit BTC has brought to us. Only SCAMMERS hide their identity.

uh, you can not stay anonimous, when you order something from whatever place, beause you need you know...to put your address of your house and your name

so you've already compromised your privacy, amazon is not accepting bitcoin because of regualtion, that's it they have no other reason for not accepting it, stability is not an issue, they can dump the same second you make the payment

I think there needs to be more people using bitcoin in order for this to be made possible by companies such as Amazon.
I don't think they would want to waste time and such on making this available if not many people are going to use it.
