Earlier this week, Bitcoin processed $7 billion onchain in a single day.

Venmo did $62 billion in volume in 2018.

That means Bitcoin did more than 11% of Venmo’s annual volume in a single day.

Bitcoin is the killer app.

Unfortunately I think it's a fake news :

No such numbers.

Maximum was 5 billions

OMG that's terrible. Hopefully they're able to get out of there safely.

Elwar is a pretty cagey motherfucker, I suspect a change of jurisdiction is underway as we ponder.

Unfortunately he doesn't really blend in a crowd there.
Needs to split from all of Asia honestly.

What do you mean by saying " split from all of Asia" king?
Didn't get what you mean here.

Is it about Elwar should escape or cut the Asia from rest of the world?

I agree, I never understood the Thailand choice (my main concern was pirates which sounds like a joke but is not in that part of the world) and never really got a good answer when I asked. But I figured it really wasn't my business to press the choice. I'm pretty sad to see this going as bad as it is. From what I have heard that is not a part of the world you want the government to get its hands on you.

Take their boat across the water to Malaysia and run down the coast of Indonesia to Australia.

More easily said than done. <<-- and that is an understatement.

I don't think we have anything to worry about atm.

Isn't Thailand having a rather gnarly election right now?

I don't know anything about Thai politics, but might there be an element of posturing and puffery by the "law and order" camp in Elwar's dilemma?

But when you are dealing with third world countries you can expect anything.

If I was considering something like this I would also be in the market for a jurisdiction with rationality, stability and rule of law. Ergo I would not be going anywhere near Thailand. All Thailand is good for is revolutions and sweating.

 Literally and figuratively!
I hope they find safe passage out of there.

“Mr Chad’s visa has now been revoked. His actions have impacted the nation. His name has been added to the immigration blacklist, he is banned from staying in or re-entering Thailand,” Phuket Immigration Chief Lt Col Kathatorn Kumthien told The Phuket News.

“His right to stay at in the Kingdom of Thailand has ended,” Col Kathatorn said.

“We believe he is still in Phuket. I am searching for him so talk with him and to enforce to law,” Col Kathatorn added.

Provincial Police Deputy Commander Col Witoon Kongsudjai confirmed to The Phuket News, “Right now we are preparing to get evidence against the entities responsible for building the seastead.

Immigration have already been to the house where Mr Chad was registered as living – but both he and Ms Supranee were not at home.

“We are continuing our search for the couple,” he added.

Police went to my house 8 of them.. 2-3 times for the last 2 days and that makes my mom and my son scared of them. Just a kid and grandma please stop scaring them..

This is getting ridiculous. Even if I always thought governments would never allow anything like this on a massive scale (such that it REALLY threatens its sovereignty) we are talking here about a single individual in a tiny boating platform. The charge they are trying to use upon him is completely ridiculous as it does not, in any way, applies to this case. But when you are dealing with third world countries you can expect anything.

This shows another weakness of the whole seasteading thing... unless you plan to really live on it and never ever depend (or even step) on the neighboring state (for food, supplies, or whatever) you are fucked unless you have an agreement that approves and regulates your presence near their frontier.

I just hope this gets solved in a good way for Elwar and he can pursue his dream in a more welcoming place. He made history anyways, and if seasteading ever becomes a thing he will be recalled as the very first one that pioneered the way.

a Cray can run an endless loop in under 4 hours

There are at least 2 ways to prove that he is Satoshi:
Satoshi Nakamoto <[email protected]>
He should have access to email Satoshi.
Satoshi Nakamoto in bitcointalk.org
Log in to your bitcointalk.org account
And leave a message: "Hello, this is Craig Wright and I am Satoshi Nakamoto!"

If this is done, there will be, almost, no doubt that Satoshi is him!
Let the judge accept this information!

Get with the times, youngling.

The gmx email address was compromised years ago and put up for sale.

The bitcointalk database has been compromised multiple times and satoshi's account has been long shut down.

Even if he signed from one of the known blocks all it would prove is that he controlled those private keys at that moment of signing, though of course it would be much more compelling than anything else.

No one can prove they're Satoshi without a shred of doubt. It's too late now.

Did anyone ever try and figure out from the logs what IP address he was connecting from?

indeed there was one connectivity w/o Tor the time Hal Finney and Satoshi Nakamoto worked together on the Bitcoin client.

Satoshi Nakamoto IP

http://www.plotip.com/domain/h-68-164-57-219.lsanca54.dynamic.covad.net

HOST DETAILS: H-68-164-57-219.LSANCA54.DYNAMIC.COVAD.NET

IP Address: 68.164.57.219
IP Block: 68.164.57.128 – 68.164.57.255
Reverse DNS: h-68-164-57-219.lsan.ca.dynamic.megapath.net
Host: Covad Communications. Van Nuys, CA, USA
Location: Van Nuys, CA, USA

This is not a TOR exit node which implies that this is the IP address used by Satoshi on 2009-01-10 and he was in Van Nuys on this day.

very interesting is that a young lady which is connected somehow with Dave Kleiman and CSW lives near this location.

it says that this IP was not a TOR exit node but maybe there was an IRC relay running on this IP.
